MAC Runway Hit Retro Matte Lipstick ~ LOTD, Swatches

TATA - written behind most trucks in India.
From the time I was a kid until last year, I thought.... can you not look at me when I say this?...that...that it meant "Ta Ta. Bye Bye"
You know, like "Blow Horn" or "Use Dipper At Night" or "Have A Nice Day". I even saw "Please Keep Distense" not too long ago (I almost posted the pic on my Instagram and was gonna caption it: "...Or you'll be sintensed to death."  I'd deleted the pic from my phone, otherwise I would've sneaked it into this post.)
So...where was I?...so I just assumed TATA meant 'Bye Bye'. I also remember that as a little girl I'd mentally wave when I saw it.
Sometime last year, while in the car, Mr.CZ and I were discussing cars (Yes, we've been together a long time.) and he mentioned TATA this, TATA that, TATA owns Jaguar. Suddenly....sudden-effin-ly-a-little-too-late....the tube light in a very very dusty, cobwebby corner of my head lit up! "Ohhhh....TATA = TATA Motors!!!"
In my brain's defense, I would've added them up a long time ago, but then why would I be thinking about and looking at trucks anymore? I had my life to think about. Also, dem coot buoyz!

Okay, coming to the lipstick......

I always thought this lipstick was called Runaway Hit. Run-away Hit.
It was only until I was at a MAC store that I saw Runway Hit written at the bottom. I have to tell you that I wasn't at all interested in this lippie when it was first launched. Not until I swatched it. Fell in love with it, but it was out of stock. Made me want it even more. I got it only after the 3rd time I'd gone to ask for it!

Best Beauty Products | Current

Hello, all! Hope you're having a good week. I've been busy apartment-hunting for a while, and we finalized on one today. So relieved, and you know what I learned? I mean I've always known it, but now I know without a shadow of a doubt!

When people say: "It's not about the money."

Translation: "It is about the money. Maybe we don't know it yet.
It's a-lll-w-a-y-s about the money. Wake up, silly woman! Stop wondering how MAC Viva Glam Ariana Grande Lipstick would look on you!"

Okay. So I've been using some amazing products for the past month, so wanted to share with y'all:

L'Oreal Extraordinary Skin Boosting Oil: Favoritest, this! Best not-so-pricey premium facial oil in the Indian market right now, which also smells the best. By that, I mean it doesn't have a strong scent. Clarins Facial Oil & The Body Shop Oils Of Life have a similar strong scent, and they are super duper pricey. Hi, The Body Shop, Rs.3095? Really?
Formulated with 3 Oils:
Desert nut oil : Deeply nourishes
Geranium essential oil : Replumps skin layer by layer
Rosa canina fruit oil : Illuminates the skin
Will do a detailed post on this.
Price: Rs.1550  from Lifestyle

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream : OH-EM-GEE! I'm so mad at myself for not trying this sooner. The back of my right hand was damaged until this came along. I will post before & after pictures in a separate post.
Price: Rs.300 from local supermarket

Dove Moisture Go Fresh Beauty Cream Bar with Green Tea & Cucumber Scent ~ Hello, simple soap! I started using this only because I ran out of face wash, and was surprised by how gentle and non-drying it is. Recently, I was doing research (ya, let's call it that) on anti-ageing facial cleansers, and I stumbled on an article on Oprah, where they said that expensive anti-ageing face washes are a waste of money, because they don't stay on your skin long enough to do anything. Don't you think that makes total sense? I think this is where I'll be saving my monies ;D
Price: Rs.46 from local supermarket

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm ~  It's a pinky beige that's become one of my favorite nude lippies. Swatches to come.
Price: Rs.710 from Sephora

Maybelline Lip Gradation in Coral1 ~ This color! So bright, so pigmented! The finish is creamy to matte, so dry chapped lips will need extra work before application. Will wear this in a look sometime.
Price: Rs.500 from Lifestyle

Ardell Luckies False Lashes ~ Looking for falsies that aren't too long, that look like mascara-ed lashes? These are them.
Price: Rs.375 from Jabong

Any special products you'd like to share with the rest of us?

Enjoy your Friday!

See you again soon :*

New Year Haul & Life Update

Hi, Everyone! Happy happy New Year to each and everyone of you! Hugs & kisses xx <3 p="">
So late, I know, but I was rarely home these last few weeks. My brother and his family were staying over, and we were always out and about.

I am so very happy 2015 is gone, because it was the worst year of my life. I went through some things that weren't good for me, and I had somehow lost myself. Okay, enough of that. Closed book.
This year feels different already. Another chance to start over, and live the life I want to live.
But it started off with a weird, life-threatening, surreal incident.....

9/8/15

When September Ends.....

So I was listening to Radio One (94.3 FM) in the car one evening,
Male RJ.
Topic: Contest-type. Listeners (People?) had to call and say....

"Whenever I see you, I just want to pick my nose."

'Pick My Nose'! I swear I'm not making this up!
They had to say it in the most seductive way.
They had to make it sound sexy.
Oh, and the winner was gonna win some prize I can't remember.
Movie tickets? Restaurant meal?
Okay, I really can't recall!
Must have been a very unappealing prize.
The callers really really.....tried their best.
I got to listen to about 3 callers.
The RJ listened - I wondered if he was trying hard not to LOL - and politely gave each of them a pat on their backs for trying their (*cough* orno) best.
"That's really good."
"Oh, wow!"
And then the one memorable tickler.....

Woman: "Whenever I see you *moans*.... I just....mmm....*groans* want to....mmmmm.....pick my nose...... rawwwrrr!"
(In my head: This woman is standing in her kitchen, in black yoga pants, cup of tea in hand, looking out the window, waiting for the vegetable wala to deliver the fresh gobhi/cauliflower. Kids will be back from tuition in 20, and hubby in 60.)

RJ: "That was very good. I'm really turned on right now."
(In my head: He's bored, thinking about Jack Daniel's.... and before he could stop himself, puts his index finger up one nostril.)

I'm sorry to say that we'll never know what happened next, because I had to get out of the car.

That's life.
Short Journeys = Interesting/Funny radio programs, New Releases, Top-something/HIT songs.
Long Journeys = MmmBop, Ads, Queen, Ads, Chefs, Education, Kejriwal.

............

Speaking of nose-related things, whenever I wear sunglasses, my eyes always notice my nose first. Especially in photos. I don't know, even my nostrils seem bigger than usual.

Which means: Sunnies can hide careless in-a-rush eye makeup application, but not a dirty nose. Don't make 'em want to pick your nose! =D

Okay, now I'll stop saying "NOSE" now.

This is an end-of-summer look that I meant to post, like, a week ago......

Sunglasses: Forever 21

Lipstick: I was obsessed with orange-y lippies for a while. Here, I'm wearing Colorbar Definer Lip Liner in Peach Cocktail....

HoT NeW THiNG

New Product Releases & Previews

Every Thursday

(For your weekend shopping list ;))

******

Last HoT NeW THiNG for today is Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick.

It's a wax-free gel formula lightweight lipstick that delivers vivid color in one smooth swipe. I think there are about 13 shades launched here in India.

I picked up a coral-y pink shade with subtle silver shimmer, named Hydrangea.....

MAC Ruby Woo In A Pencil!

How round is the tip of your MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick now?

Mine is really round with zero edge that I don't feel like applying it, because it's not a lipstick formula that easy to clean when it smudges. If you own it, I know ya feel whah I'm sayin' (Yeah, say that like Drake!)

I've also misplaced the Bourjois Lip Liner that's a dupe for it. Now I just have to wait for the Lip Pencil to re-untie me with Ruby Woo...

MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick review & swatches HERE

It's already available online on MAC USA website

I don't know when it'll reach Indian shores, but let's hope before Christmas.

Have a great week , all! =)

Makeup To Lean On

Do you recall, not long ago
We would walk on the sidewalk
Innocent, remember?
All we did was care for each other

But the night was warm
We were bold and young
All around the wind blows
We would only hold on to let go

Blow a kiss, fire a gun
We need some(one) makeup to lean on
Blow a kiss, fire a gun
All we need is some(body) makeup to lean on.

*****

This blog post has been inspired by a song I'm obsessed with all week....

Lean On - by Major Lazer & DJ Snake.

Tell me you've heard it!

So are there certain makeup products you are almost emotionally attached to? Makeup you instinctively reach for, doesn't matter if you have other new (better even) makeup that are sitting right there. Makeup you can't imagine being without. Yes, you keep them all in one separate area/tray (they are the popular & envied kids on your vanity). Okay, it's time to say the dramatic words - Makeup You Lean On.

Here are mine & yes, they were also in my travel makeup bag.....

Face:
I use L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder in shade 320 Natural Beige when I want a matte finish. On days when I want a more dewy finish, I use Etude House Snow White Precious Mineral BB Cream in shade W13 (This version is from the Princess Happy Ending Collection)
For a heavier coverage I use both - BB Cream & then the foundation.

To conceal spots under eyes, I use the Revlon Colorstay Concealer in  shade 03 Light Medium

To set everything in place, I apply Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in shade Translucent. As a finishing touch, and to mattify my oily summer skin further, I pat Street Wear Color Rich Perfection Compact Powder in shade Neutral.

For cheeks, I apply the blush I'm very very attached to - MAC Cream Soda Satin Blush  from the Archie's Girls Collection, which was Limited Edition. I try not to use it all the time, but I can't...I can't stop! It's a pale peach color- swatches here.

Eyes:
For everyday, I do a quick neutral look and usually only contour my hooded crease, so
Naked Basics Palette is my go-to palette. It has everything I need & the palette is compact and easy to tote around everywhere I go.
To tightline my upper lash line, I use Colorbar Just Smoky Kajal Just Black. If you have small light eyes like mine, a black kohl on the bottom lash line can look too harsh, especially for day time, so I turn to a brown kohl instead - enter Bourjois Kohl Contour in shade 78 Brun Design.

If I feel like lining my upper lash line, I use Maybelline Colossal Liquid Liner, with the 0.4mm precision tip - my absolute favorite! More pics here

Lastly, the one product I could possibly end up in a psych ward without - Mascara! I've been really overworking Maybelline Colossal Waterproof Mascara. Seriously, like, 4-5 coats of it every-time! Do not disturb me when I'm building my lashes! =D

Brows:

Currently using Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil in shade 002 Hazel Inglot Brow Shaping Pencil in shade #63, which is a waxy crayon stick that sets brows in place.

Lips:
Lancome Rouge In Love Lipstick in Rose Boudoir (Swatched here)
Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive mixed with MAC Vegas Volt. The resulting color is a pinky peachy beauty that's between a pink & coral.
If it's red I'm in the mood for, MAC Retro Matte Lipstick All Fired Up is my favorite these days, because it's not too bright.
Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Mauve It Over. Lined with Bourjois Levres Contour Lip Liner in shade #12 Facetieuse. My most-worn matte nude lippie!

I showed you mine, now show me yours....

*Name 3 makeup products you lean on.*

Now bring the beat back!

I have a feeling this is my lose-weight song.

*Puts earphones on....runs to dressing room.....and locks door*

But First, I'll Be Your Personal Shopper [SALE]

Hello!
I'll be your Personal Shopper today.
You can call me Agent Personal Shopper.
Agent PS?
Or anything you want.
Just make sure you put in the word 'Agent'
(I tried to sneak in the word 'Secret' too, but....)
Because it sounds cool & because I'm holding the hair dryer like a gun.
Plus, you need to have an agent-type....umm.... aura when you hit the Sale racks -
Next time you're in ZARA during sale, take a minute to look at the other women.
Where? Oh, there's one!
That side....in that corner over there....(Ooh that top she's touching looks nice! I WANT!)
That's why they don't want to be near you!
And most of them would no doubt be shopping alone.
Oh, yes. Rule #1- Always go SALE shopping alone.
No one is to be trusted.
Especially if 'no one' is.......

So without further delay, here are some goodies you can - and MUST - buy right now. I mean RIGHT NOW!

Forever New Ria Printed Hi Low Dress: 50% OFF! Rs.6200/Rs.3095. It is so pretty and so worth the price- the sale price. Comes with a gold belt. It's still available online here, and there's a similar dress with a different print here.

July Nightwear: Rs.1199/Rs.959. I LOVE this brand July Nightwear! I always end up liking only their pyjama sets while browsing Jabong. I got this Disney one here and a few more sets. All pyjama sets & sleepwear are 20% off right now. You can check out the entire range here.

Corioliss Mini Vintage Hair Dryer (Limited Edition): Rs.2999/Rs.1399. How cute?! HOW CUTE?!!! Nykaa had this in one of the sliders amongst hair dryers on sale. I saw, I clicked, I ordered. I prefer mini/travel hair dryers coz they're light. I checked online and it was $85 when it was launched :O ....If the floral & cute blue pouch are calling your name, go grab it before it's gone at Nykaa HERE

New Hair Feat. Things I Love

I fell sick one week,
Baby CZii fell sick the next week,
I fell sick again that same week,
In the middle of last week....
I made an impromptu trip to my hometown,
Slow Wi-fi. Doesn't even work at night!
Now I'm sitting in the living room while Baby CZii is sleeping upstairs,
Wi-fi comes and goes,
I'm hoping I'll be able to publish this post successfully.....
(Prove me wrong you Reliance dongle you!)
Before he wakes up & cries for milk  biscuits.

10 mins later:
Shucks! I can hear him already!
Oh, it's just my 1.5-year-old nephew.
Uh-oh, now he's next to me trying to grab my laptop!

Now if we were in a relationship, you wouldn't still think about breaking up with me because I did not keep in touch, would you?
I've got issues, and it's not Apple Tree Yard*
............

Okay, about new hair: I got it cut & colored last month. I wanted side swept bangs, coz one day my forehead just looked so LARGE! Does it increase with age & childbirth?, I wondered.
I asked for shoulder-length with lots of volume at the top, and I got, you could say, "The Rachel" (FRIENDS) haircut.

Color was achieved after a lot of stripping - meaning: bleaching & stripping away all of the orange in my hair. They used L'Oreal Majirel Lightest Ash Blonde.

These shoes! I got them from my hometown in January. Available in 2 colors. I got both. Not at the same time, I went for these another time - because, you know, I was losing sleep ;p. I wore them for the very first time last month, and was so pleasantly surprised that they're sooo comfortable for pencil heels.

I will post the other ones on my shoe blog www.cz-loves.com

Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick Fairy tale Photos, Swatches

A pink lipstick named 'Fairy tale'
Isn't that lovely?!
You'd think I picked it because of the name, but no.
First, I liked the color - I'm always drawn to this type of pink.
I turned the bottom up, smiled like a weirdo, and said "I'll take this."

OKAY! Maybe the name sold me the lipstick.

(Let's hope Lakmé is reading! ;))

NEW Lakmé Enrich Satin Lipsticks Photos & Swatches

Look at them. Just look at them.
Don't they make you want to eat something pink-colored?
Mmm... Pink Macarons, Bubblegum, Cotton Candy - nah, something more chewy, Cupcake, Swiss Roll with pink & white layers, Lamington....
Ahh....Gimme! ;p

Say Hello to the NEW Lakmé Enrich Satin Lipsticks! Bright & bold 'very in' shades, new transparent packaging (you can now see the colors without having to uncap!), but the same 200-something price range. THANK YOU Lakmé!

I picked up 5 shades:

P169 ~ A blue-toned bubblegum pink.

P166 ~ Deeper than P169. It's such a gorgeous pink, and more flattering on me than P169. When you mix it with a purplish shade like P170 below.....

P165 ~ This one. This one is thebomb.com. It's the first shade I fell for while swatching at the store. It is very very similar to MAC Impassioned Lipstick. I'd even call it a dupe.

P164 ~ Tangerine shade. This has more silver shimmer, which makes it more of a pearly finish than opaque, like the other 2 shades above.

P170 ~ A lavender shade. Same finish like the tangerine shade P164. When mixed with P166, you'll get a shade very close to MAC Flat Out Fabulous Lipstick

LOVE the texture and finish. Same as the old versions. Silky and moisturizing, yet they don't bleed. These shades can be blotted to look matte, and they are pigmented enough to stain lips when they wear off. They smell the same as well - lipsticky scent, which is not too bothersome.

Ya, even I wish they had cute names instead of numbers! =\

Lippie HAUL After Lipstick Buying Ban

So my self-imposed Lipstick Ban is officially O-V-E-R. I had a lot to say about it, but the Notepad I'd written on is in my old laptop that broke down some days ago, and it just won't turn back on! If I sit here and try to re-write it, this post will be up.....I don't know when! The gist is at the end of this post......

March FAB BAG ~ What I Got.....

"Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself."

~ Coco Chanel.

This is my very first experience with these monthly beauty bags, even though I've always been intrigued and have been thinking about subscribing to one. If you're not familiar with them, they are basically monthly subscription beauty bags - you subscribe, and every month a customized bag of beauty products will arrive at your doorstep. It's quite cool, coz you get to try out & discover different products (sometimes sample size, sometimes FULL SIZE!), and of course, there's the element of surprise! I was very excited to unzip this month's FAB BAG. Here's what I got.....

LOTD: MAC Relentlessly Red Retro Matte Lipstick

I was making breakfast one morning.
Eggs, bread, stir-fried mushrooms, chai-style tea (by chai-style, I just mean more milk, 2 types of tea leaves & boiled in a saucepan.)
Multitasked by making 3 of them at once on our 3 burner stove.
Left Burner - Bread (I like to fry it lightly in olive oil & pretend it's homemade garlic bread.)
Middle Burner - Onions, garlic & green chillies (For the mushrooms I'd be adding afterwards.)
Right Burner - The chai-style tea.
Oh, I forgot to mention the eggs were already boiled- not too runny, not too hard. Perfect.
Things were going well. I just had to add the mushrooms & finish making the tea.
I'll be able to sit down, and my son would squeal ecstatically while he watched me eat. That's what he does these days.
Then it happened!
I added the first scoop of tea leaves to the onion/garlic/green chillies pan instead!
I can't even.......
Yes, I chopped & made a fresh batch after the accident, coz the mushrooms weren't added yet.
But still, I haven't forgiven myself. Such an idiot!

Later that same day, I put a big bow on my head to make myself feel better.

And a brand new red lipstick.....

MAC Relentlessly Red from the Retro Matte Collection.

It got this lippie last year, but didn't start wearing it until last month. I'm loving it like all the other Retro Matte Lipsticks I have. At first, I thought it'd be too similar to MAC All Fired Up, but they're completely different.

Price ~ Rs.990 - Rs.1450 (Old price - New price)

2/19/15

Pink Glam Eyes & Lips Combination

You know that feeling when you finish watching the finale of a TV series? Like something died inside you? Ya, that's the feeling I'm feeling these days - after I finished watching The Missing. It's such a brilliant show with an ending that still haunts me days later. Do watch it if you're into mystery.

So....if you're wondering what makeup I wore on Valentine's Day, this is it. I didn't get time to click photos that day, so I recreated the look. Well.... just eyes & lips, because a full LOTD with presentable hair is almost impossible for me to do these days! Even on V-Day, I had to put my son on a chair opposite me while I did my hair! He stopped crying & watched  =D

Beauty Haul ~ New, Old & Favorites

FRIENDS S04E24:

Priest: "Repeat after me, 'I, Ross.'"
Ross: "I, Ross."
Priest: "Take thee, Emily."
Ross: "Take thee, Rachel."

Now that's an old & my most favorite TV show twist ever! I realize it's so random, but I watched it again recently, and I think it's absolutely genius! =D

Now on to my 1st Beauty Haul of 2015.....
......and I like all the products already.....

MAC Lady Danger Lipstick ~ LOTD, Swatches

Hello, Everyone! How have you all been? It seems like I haven't done a post like this in sooo long! This is my first LOTD after childbirth and, as you can see, the little one woke up from his afternoon nap. He was actually fussing there. Face/Neck scratching & hair pulling.....Ahh, where are those mittens?!!! And I had to wipe off that lipstick fast fast, because......
MAC Lady Danger Lipstick (Matte) ~ Described as Vivid bright coral-red. I got MAC Lady Danger mainly because I wanted an orange version of MAC Ruby Woo, my most favorite red lipstick EVER, and the vivid coral is punctuated by just the right amount of red to make it exactly what I had in mind. Well, almost exactly what I had in mind.....
