LOTD: Not Good Enough For A Fashion Magazine....

Hey Cynthia,
Thanks for the mail but I'm afraid these pictures won't work. The two tones need to be clearly visible and the pink and nude doesn't show very well. Also, in terms of hair, these waves don't work too well, and I suggest you do the sleek back hair as on your website.I'm sorry but I guess you'll have to re shoot this. I don't intend to be negative about your effort, but I'm just trying to achieve the best look possible for the magazine. Also, would need pics for each step. Would recommend you try the two tone lips in bright colours, as on the runway. And a white background would be perfect."

This is the first two-tone lips look that I sent to Cosmopolitan for their story in March, and that's an email I got after. I'm sharing the email, because it properly - and very politely - explains why the look didn't work.
Truth is, I kinda knew it was coming, and I didn't get mad or disappointed. Before that, I really didn't know what kind of photos they needed...what to wear...what to pose...the works. It was based on a Spring trend, so I decided on an outdoor background. The day I did the shoot was very gloomy in Newcastle, as you can make out from the lighting in the photos, so I could only click a few because it was freezing! Most of the pics came out too dull and blurry, and I wasn't happy with them. I think I was a little bit happy that I had to do another look.

FREE Ciaté Paint Pots With Marie Claire May 2013!

I've always wanted to have some Ciaté Paint Pots only because of the bottle with a bow (look!), but  I find £9 (Rs.740) too steep for a nail polish. Hell, I don't even want to shell out 200 rupees on any nail polish! Yes, nail paints are where I'm most kanjoos at =D
But on a quick trip to Tesco today (to buy a Double Decker chocolate bar for Mr.CZ), "I saw, I squealed, I bought." *Jumps*
This shade is called ~ Pocket Money.
Oh ya, there's another freebie with it- Jergens Ultra Healing Body Moisturiser! Ah, the joys!

FREE Clinique Products With Instyle Magazine & Next Month's Free Gifts Are....

Monday Evening, 24th September '12, Newcastle Upon Tyne:  It rained the whole frickin' day, the internet hadn't been activated yet, I was feeling out of sorts. I just wanted to curl up on the couch with some random show on British tv & a cup of Tetley. BUT we had to make a trip to Sainsbury's (supermarket) to buy some necessary groceries. On the way, my right hand was almost frozen, because both Mr.CZ & I had to hold the edges of the umbrella, so the wind wouldn't blow it into a Y shape. If not for Instyle, some cute table mats & a pack of chilli powder (authentically Indian, mind you), it wouldn't have been worth it.
The magazine section is near the entrance, so that's where I ended up first. Hello, Instyle magazine! Olivia Palermo on the cover. A pretty thing, but who is she? I've seen her somewhere. One evidently famous celeb I do not know. Ooh! FREE Clinique products!
Price: £3.80 (Rs.330)
It took me a while to notice that they had a different free product on each issue: Repairwear Laser Focus Serum, High Impact Mascara, Long Last Gloss Wear, Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer. 'Collect All 4 Amazing Products' they say. Yeah, right. The tactics these people! I picked the moisturizer, coz I really needed one =)

L'Oreal Paris - Femina Women Awards 2012

"This March, we’re raising a toast to the women who have inspired us all. The most admired and loved women in art, music, education, business, film and various other fields, will be honored at the first ever L’Oreal Paris - Femina Women Awards in association with Rasvihar.

The Logo and Trophy for the awards have been inspired by the Tangram: a puzzle made of seven pieces of a square that can be rearranged in an endless array of forms. Perfect, considering we have always celebrated the many and myriad facets of women with our tagline, ‘For All The Women You Are’.

This prestigious award function will be held on 22nd March, 2012 at the ITC Grand Central, Mumbai.

Living up to our tagline ‘For All The Women You Are’ we will commemorate at these awards the bold women who are going out and building a brave new world for themselves." ~ FEMINA.
