Inglot 5 Round Eyeshadow Palette ~ Brights

Here is my bright Inglot eyeshadow palette. It was somewhat inspired by the Sleek Curacao Palette, coz I really liked some colors in that palette.

Shades I picked- 491, 474, 372, 495, 477. They are all Double Sparkle eyeshadows, except for one. Inglot eyeshadows are available in 3 finishes- Matte, Double Sparkle (DS), and Pearl.

INGLOT Haul & A 'Très Vichy' Gift

I hauled some Inglot (and Accessorize too) and got a bow-tiful & fa-bow-lous GIFT on the same day-yesterday! No wonder I had one of the best sleeps ever last night. I woke up diagonally- body on my side of the bed & legs on the other side- and my hubby, gone! ;p

I won't tell you what those are right now. I will post swatches very soon. Nah nah, I'm not teasing you, I'm just in a rush.  But there already was a Guessing Game in IVC Facebook page yesterday, and it was so fun! :)

Katrina Kaif's Lipstick In ZNMD & Aamsutra Ad ~ Reader Query

Reader: "I watched Zindagi Na Milage Dobara this weekend end and I was pretty fascinated with Katrina's lipstick. It was a reddish/pinkish color with a wee bit of brown shade in it.
Do you know what color or which brand it could be?  I think she wears the same in the new maza add too."

I just put this pic for reference.

Me: I haven't seen the movie, but the ad I've seen many many times. Slice is my favorite cold drink. I'd say the lipstick falls in the plum family. Looks like the lippie was applied very sparingly, or maybe it's just lip liner & lip balm. It's about time these ads & movies came with makeup breakdowns too, no? Maybe "Make-up done by so-and-so. For complete list of products used on the heroine, visit her blog/website at www.so-and-so.com."

So, I went through my lipstick collection & the internet and I found some shades that look similar to the one on Kat:
  • MAC Captive ~ Swatch here
  • Lakme Enrich Satin #134 ~ This is the closest shade I have myself, and it looks quite similar on my lips. However, it looks lighter & more pink on camera. Swatches here
  • Last shade in Lakme Lip Palette ~ Swatch here
  • I think I have seen a similar shade among Lakme Lip Love Lipsticks- maybe Plum Pout.
Now I want to watch the movie too, so I can be more precise! =D

Any other suggestions are welcome!

Lakme Lip Love Conditioner ~ MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner Dupe

About Lakme Lip Love Conditioner:
It’s a gel-based lip softener that promises to pamper your pout with color and moisture. Lip Love Conditioner contains Shea butter and Jojoba oil to hydrate your lips while the SPF 12 protects your lips from the sun. Lip Love Conditioner is extremely light-weight and is loaded with the goodness of Shea butter; Jojoba oil and high shine polymers.

Price ~ Rs.225

Available in 4 shades ~ Hottie, Flirt, Charmer, Siren.

I'll be showing you Flirt & Charmer. They look quite similar in the little jars, especially when they're new, but Flirt is pinkish, and Charmer is sheer red.

Flirt, Charmer
I am very impressed these! They smell delicious- like vanilla, and they make my lips really really soft & supple. And most important of all, the packaging....oh my bows, the packaging! It is one of the cutest lip balm jars ever! Heart-shaped from both top and bottom. I L♥VE!

Swatches: Flirt, Charmer

 Flirt, Charmer

Talking about MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner, I am guessing Lakme LLC was inspired by it. If so, then I'm so proud of Lakme for kind of nailing it. The texture... the smell- almost ditto. So if you're looking for a MAC TLC dupe, you might want to check these out.

A few differences: Mac TLC is more balmy & Lakme LLC is more glossy, Mac TLC has SPF 15 & Lakme LLC has SPF 12, Lakme LLC is more glossy & Mac TLC is more balmy.

Lakme LLC Flirt & MAC TLC Petting Pink
Let's compare prices, shall we?
Mac TLC for 15ml~ Rs.870
Lakme LLC for ? (not sure about quantity, but smaller jar) ~ Rs.225

Swatch of MAC TLC Petting Pink....

MAC TLC Petting Pink

You see what I mean about balmy & glossy? Bottomline is, they're still very very similar. So for me, it's "Goodbye MAC TLC!" Well, unless they come up with a shade I won't be able to resist (and cuter packaging!) I've always thought they were overpriced, so you can imagine my 'Hallelujah moment'

Dupe Meter: 90%

Now back to Lakme Lip Love Conditioner ~ As a lip balm addict, I adore them! Cute packaging, delicious content & my lips love them (or they love my lips?) I'm definitely buying more.

One dislike about Lakme LLC : Shade names are not printed on the jars. One can get confused, especially if they plan to launch more shades. I stuck the sticker from the seal on one, so I wouldn't make a mistake while swatching them. Maybe a little red heart sticker on the side with the shade name on it? :)

I Got NAKED!!!

Let's pretend you heard that here first and clap. My grandmother would so disapprove of it, especially since it's a Sunday- a day to be pious. I don't blog on Sundays, coz I'm lazy not coz I'm pious *rolls eyes*, but there are exceptions- today it's the Urban Decay Naked Palette- always out of stock, always too expensive on Ebay.... Always. On. My. Mind.

From my mind to my hands....after A YEAR of yearning! All thanks to the lovely Aparajita , who brought it from France. I still can't believe I have it in my house! I stroke it, stare at the eyeshadows, and sigh- before dinnertime & before going to bed. My husband thinks I'm nuts!

Winnie The Pooh Brush/Pencil Holders

I was at a stationery store last Saturday and couldn't resist buying these cute Winnie The Pooh "Happy to be Me" tin pencil holders. I was just going to get the one on the left, but of course me had to get a matching one too. What? I needed the......sharpener.

I got the long one, coz I thought it'd be a good way to store my foundation brush- to prevent dust and such from getting on it. You know, somewhat like the Sigma Brush Kit.

Bubbly Look With MAC Quite Cute Candy Yum Yum & Sakura

A "bubbly" look with MAC Quite Cute products: Candy Yum Yum Lipstick & Sakura Mineralize Blush. For photos & swatches, please click here. I love both products so very much!

Note: It's meant to be an over-the-top pink look inspired by Mac Quite Cute campaign, so there's no need to chastise me for looking like bubblegum. Just be glad I'm not wearing a pink bow on my head & I'm not piggybacking a pink teddy bear =D

Easy Cat Eyeliner Tutorial

Cat eyeliner has got to the most unpredictable thing in makeup. You never know what shape you'll end up with. One wrong move & you'll have to think of ways to make it look right. I thought I'd share with you how I've been doing mine, because I think it's almost mistake-proof.

By the way, this is how I lined my eyes in the MAC Big Bounce Impeccably Rich post...

So, here's a step-by-step tutorial:

  1. Apply eyeshadow on lid. Here I used a very light shade (TF Pillow Talk shown below). Start lining from center of lid towards the outer corner, stop after drawing 1/2 " or so- as shown.
  2. Continue to line straight out. Make sure the end doesn't exceed the end of your eyebrow tail.
  3. Now join the end of the line to the outer end of your eye.
  4. Line the rest of your eye starting from center to the inner corner. Try to make it thinner as it goes in.
  5. Time to fill inside the lines now& tightline the inner part of your eye now, so there's no visible gaps. Tightlining tutorial here
  6. DONE!
*It's up to you whether you want to line the lower lash line or not. I prefer to do it.
Lastly, apply mascara on top & bottom lashes. After I lined my bottom lash line & joined it to the upper wing, I ended up with this....

Products Used:

Because I have hooded lids, it's important that I contour my crease. I used Pillow Talk on lid & Like A Virgin on the crease and lower lash line. Both eyeshadows are from the Too Faced Naked Eye Palette

Maybelline Lasting Drama Black Gel Liner

Hope you liked the tutorial!

Bobbi Brown Cabo Coral Pot Rouge Review & Swatches

About Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge:
This cream-based formula is great on both lips and cheeks for a sheer, stained finish. Available in a wide array of color choices for a variety of skin tones. For All Skin Types. Creamy and easy to blend - pat on lips and cheeks for a pop of color.

Cabo Coral is described as "Pink Nectar", but I see no pink in it, do you? There is a hint of pink when you look at it closely, but it definitely leans more towards peach.

Too Faced Naked Eye Palette Review & Swatches

I think of the Too Faced Naked Palette as "The Other Naked Palette", coz my first choice was always the out-of-reach Urban Decay Naked Palette, Of course I was attracted to this one too, coz the packaging is more girly, younger-looking & prettier- in my pink-toned opinion. Come to think of it, isn't the "other woman" also younger & prettier, in most cases? Not talking about Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction. No no. Hmm.... maybe she doesn't always look younger & prettier. Feel better? Because, I do! =D

Back to topic now. This palette has been my No.1 favorite/most used product for the last 2 months or so. It is amazing! I think I'm going to hit pan on at least 2-3 shades soon-ish.

The quality of the eyeshadows is top notch. Apart from being super smooth & pigmented, they are all easily wearable shades.

FREE Bourjois Makeup Bag!

FREE = HAPPY. You get a free gift and you no longer feel guilty about spending, right? ;)

I hauled some Bourjois products (not for myself) yesterday and I got this cute pink makeup bag! You get this when you spend over Rs.1500.

That pouch in the middle is attached to the base with velcro.

I just love Bourjois' free gifts! They are so useful. Have you seen the Parisian umbrella I got last year? Click here if you haven't. They even have a brown leather vanity case, which you can get if you spend Rs.5000 (or is it 3000? I'm confused.)

Availability ~ At Lifestyle &  Kunchal's too, I assume.

A Troll Is Using My Name & Email Address

Yesterday was supposed to be a very good day for me. I got a new android phone and was excitedly checking my emails on it, until I saw a follow-up comments notification email from Musings Of A Muse. I clicked on it and read the replies from Muse to this  person"Cynthia". I hadn't left any comment in the blog, so I realized this person had used my name & email address. I couldn't speak for a while. I was too shocked!

I went to the website and wrote a comment telling Muse that the other person isn't me. Muse mentioned in a previous comment that this troll is using several other names too. She knows coz they're coming from the same IP address.

5 days or a week back, I received some abusive comments from a person using Muse's name & I also got another negative comment on the same day (it's obvious now that it was the same person), and she used the name Michelle with a link to Michelle Phan's website. I deleted those comments immediately, coz common sense told me these people don't have that kind of time.

I'm here minding my own business and this happens. This low-life maggot.

I have no idea how she could go to such lengths, but I've changed all my passwords for now.

I felt I needed to let all of you bloggers know about this, coz God only knows how many identities this coward is using to spread hate. So, if you get comments like this, please let me know. I'm taking this very seriously & will get to the bottom of it.

Guess Campaign Inspired LOTD

I could stare at  Guess models/ads for hours. The cat eyes...the clothes....the high heels....and the black & white pics. I just love 'em! Guess Spring Campaign 2011 has models with smokey eyes, thick winged eyeliner & nude lips. I thought I'd do a similar look on myself and have some fun.
*Now I'm not saying I look like a Guess model. Duh! I just like to play dress up and pretend I am one =D

My back hurts because of all the crawling and setting the timer on the camera, then going back to stretching on the floor again. Some out of focus pics had nothing but limbs haha...

New! Bourjois Smile Enhancing Gloss

Another intriguing new product by Bourjois is the Smile Enhancing Gloss. It's a dual-ended tube- one side contains a shimmery gloss with "white focus" pigments that enhances the brightness of your teeth & the other contains a tooth whitening/brightening gel!

*Covers mouth* Wait, not yet.

DIY Lipstick Sundae

Last night at around 11:00 pm, for no reason at all (okay, let's just say the reason was Sunday boredom), I got up from my beloved couch and made this mini 4-in-1 lipstick palette aka lipstick sundae.

I enjoyed making it so much, because it's so easy. I hope you'll like it too!

MAC Quite Cute Collection Haul & Swatches

MAC Quite Cute Collection was launched today. I woke up with a big smile on my face, mainly coz I haven't shopped for so long (since my vacay). I decided not to buy any makeup for at least 6 months, but this doesn't count coz it's limited edition stuff ;p. But you know I'm right there.

Anyhoo, here's what I hauled:
  • Mineralize Blushes in Giggly & Sakura: They are also called Kawaii Baked Heart Blushes. "Kawaii" means "pretty" or "cute" in Japanese. I'm so glad that these aren't too shimmery.
  • Lipstick in Candy Yum Yum: A matte neon pink shade.

Silkygirl Double Intense Gel Eyeliner ~ Cute, cute, cute!

About:
A creamy gel-type eyeliner that ensures easy and precise application, even for beginners. Thanks to its Silicone Polymer Technology, the gel eyeliner glides on effortlessly to deliver intense and vivid color payoff; mistake-free. It comes in a smart packaging where the eyeliner brush is neatly attached to the casing, so you don’t have to worry about losing the brush.

Shade ~ 01 Pure Black (Waterproof)

This is the cutest gel liner ever! It's so tiny & light! It fit's in my palm. That pot is even smaller than Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner. I adore it so much, I wish I could protect it from, God forbid, drying.

Topshop Neon Rose Cream Blush ~ J'adore!

Topshop Cream Blush in Neon Rose is one of the prettiest blush shades I've seen. It looks completely coral, but it actually has a lot of pink in it, which is what I love about it. It's a really unique color. It's gives me exaggerated rosy cheeks, but when toned down, it looks like a crush-flush- the kind you get when you see your crush.

*Should I look? No! He'll see me looking at him! My cheeks are burning! Ohmigod, I can't feel my legs! I'm going to fall!*

No, you're not going to fall...but...okay, run away & hide, just in case =D

Because it's a neon color, I couldn't increase the brightness of photos without altering the color, so I didn't. Remember the Colorbar Autumn Rose Nail Polish? (post here) Well, this is almost like that.

My 'KISS' Makeup Brushes For Everyday

KISS- Keep It Simple Silly. That's the only thing I understand from Ranbir Kapoor's stand up comedy in those Docomo ads (Hindi is not my 1st language). He talks and talks & the audience laughsMy hubby turns to me and grimace. I roll my eyes as if I know exactly what he means. But truthfully, I don't. I don't understand anything except the 'KISS' in the end. Never mind though, at least I understood the part worth understanding, no?

Anyways, my point is, I have simplified my life a little bit just by picking out which brushes I'd need every time and I keep them all in a separate brush holder to save time. Believe me, it's an accomplishment of some sort for a scatterbrain.

So, here are 8 brushes I use everyday- for any look:

Face
  1. Foundation- Sigma F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki. This is the ultimate foundation brush. It blends foundation flawlessly in a jiffy. I can't live without it. Review here
  2. Powder- Coastal Scents Bionic Wide Buffer Brush. I love this to pieces. It's incredibly soft and because it's flat, it's ideal for patting powder to set your foundation & concealer without moving them.
  3. Blush ~ Inglot 24SS. It's dual-sided. The big brush is ideal for blush application & the smaller flat top brush is great for brushing off eyeshadow fallouts, stippling concealer & contouring cheeks too. Review here
What about bronzer, you ask? If I'm wearing bronzer, which I don't everyday, then I'd use a large kabuki brush. But if these were my only options, then brush No.1. or No.3.

Concealer? Fingers, toothpick (yes, really :)) & Sigma E40 (mentioned below)

Baviphat California Scandal Muti-Action Color Balm: Peach & Orange

Baviphat California Scandal Multi-Action Color Balm can be used on eyes, cheeks & lips. I love the tin packaging with the suggestive glam retro girls on the cover- very 'The Balm'

Peach, Orange
 I have 2 shades:
  • Peach ~ This looks more pink than peach to me. It has bits of silver shimmer, which don't show much. I don't like how this looks on my lips- it's too pale.
  • Orange ~ Peach shade with gold shimmer. There's more shimmer here than in the Peach shade. This looks good on the lips too, it makes a great peachy-nude lippie.
They both look very pretty on the cheeks. They are non-sticky & dry to a powdery finish. On lips, they feel like velvet lip creams. I haven't worn them on my eyes yet, mainly because it's so hot & humid over here.

Shoe Haul ~ 8 Pairs At A Reasonable Price

I said I'll show you the shoes I hauled in Malaysia, so here they are:

Vincci, RM 79.00 (Rs.1185.00) ~ These were picked for me by a salesgirl just coz they're Size 3, which they don't have much of. I tried them on and they looked quite sexy (I don't like using that word to describe things, but that's what I thought at the time.)

TSC, RM 99.90 (Rs.1499.00) ~ The hottest black shoes I own, but uncomfortable as hell! My heels keep slipping out. I wore these in this LOTD here
