Traditional Haul ~ JAINSEM

I was in my hometown, Shillong, in July, and I bought these traditional pieces last minute - meaning: the day before leaving. So, they're not even completely stitched yet - the hemlines need to be embroidered and scalloped and whatnot (see on the yellow floral one in the pics below).

Our traditional attire (what sarees are to some of you), is called 'Jainsem'. 

'Jain' means cloth, 'sem' means drape. Both words are Khasi language.

How We Wear It: There's 2 pieces of square fabric, which you drape over each other; each going from under the arms and pinned at the opposite shoulders. Gosh, I hope I explained that alright.

It's been a while - as my opening line always goes.

My eyelash extensions had been brand new and fallen off, Britney & Jlo have gotten married, a new season of KWK is now streaming.....

But my haul in January-February & birthday post from May have not been posted here yet 😂

My life moves so fast like you wouldn't believe these days, and I've just been feeling very detached from the online world.  Plus, you might have gotten a life update on my Insta, so my head is always elsewhere.

Shopping From The Kids' Section | Midnights with CZ Part-III

I'm not ashamed to say I frequent the kids' section of every brand. 

I've bought t-shirts, dungarees, coats, jackets.....socks, gloves, snoods.....

I even checked out some Indian wear recently, before Diwali, and the salesman 

was like: "Itni fitting nahi hoti aapke liye." (or something like that). 

Of course not, I said to him. It was a 10-12 Yrs size, and I need a 12-14 Yrs! 

Woh fitting acchi ayegi. 

The look he gave me. He'll never understand.

If you're a little petite woman, and sometimes a UK 6 just doesn't cut it, or a fitted jacket is never truly fitted on you & ankle pants need to be chopped off at least 2 inches, you'll understand.

Now it's over, and I'm feeling as EMPTY as these brand new handbags that reign my world ;p

MINISO Haul ~ Everyday Beauty Stuff

Miniso is one store a family can go to, and everyone finds something useful to buy. 

This is my 2nd haul from Miniso, and I have not used the hand towels I got with during my 1st haul over a year ago! What I'm drawn to at their store are the little things, like cotton pads & swabs...and little household items.

LYN Accessories Brand in Delhi

Last time I was in Bangkok, I chased this brand from one side of the city to another, hoping I’d find a pair of shoes I’d bought some time ago. I didn’t. 

I found out they’d stopped keeping a lot of shoes & were more into handbags. 

Their handbags are amazing! I like almost every design 😍

They are designer quality at 1/4th the price.

Terminal 3 Haul

Imagine forgetting your airport haul bag, above the sink, in an airport washroom.

Then you're running towards the boarding gate, because it's the FINAL CALL (...as yoozh).

Halfway, you realize the bag is not in your hand, and you're left with 2 choices:

Run back to the washroom, which would take about 2 minutes - OR - continue running to the plane & secretly shed some tears during the journey.

It took me 5 seconds to have a very small heart attack & turn back.......

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna ~ Haul

As you all know, Rihanna launched her most-awaited beauty brand last year. FENTY, as in Robyn Rihanna Fenty. If you didn't know that, it's alright, I didn't know it either. 

In Rachel Green's words, I thought she was just Rihanna.... you know, like Moses.

To be honest, the products didn't really appeal to me when I first saw them. Maybe I had just grown up a bit more, and wasn't going crazy over every new launch & getting sucked into every new hype, you know. But when I saw them at Sephora (Bangkok), I felt kind of obligated to get something, mainly because I love her music so much..... I felt I had to pick up at least 1 product. Well, one thing led to another... and this is what I ended up with!

I swear the word "Matte" makes me go.... MAD!

Combine that with "Paint", and I'll end up looking stunned at the 

cash counter when the guy says the total amount.

You know that feeling when you buy a new shampoo & matching conditioner, and you just can't wait to try them out? You even oil your hair prior to washing, in the hope that the possible hair transformation will be.....mind-blowing! You start out with the shampoo...it doesn't lather....you think: 'Oh, it's because of the oil.', so you squeeze out some more shampoo....and work it into your hair - more vigorously this time....still doesn't lather.... then you instinctively look at the bottle... it's conditioner! You'd mistakenly bought 2 conditioners! 

Yes, people. Thankfully, the other conditioner is a 75 ml one. I thought I bought a big shampoo and a small conditioner. Okay, enough about that. I'm over it. Or I'm just distracted with other things......

Shoe Pom Poms

Question: Have you ever hidden a clothing item (etc) when you're not sure whether you want to buy it or not, because you think you'll leave the store and go around the mall, and if in case you want it later, you'd just come back for it and it wouldn't be sold out (esp if it's the last piece/size)? You tuck it between a pile of jeans (I did this with a pair of shorts at Zara once), or you simply hide it in another corner rack? So nobody sees it!

Okay, either you do it too, or I taught you a new...umm....trick.

New Year Haul & Life Update

So late, I know, but I was rarely home these last few weeks. My brother and his family were staying over, and we were always out and about.

 I am so very happy 2015 is gone, because it was the worst year of my life. I went through some things that weren't good for me, and I had somehow lost myself. Okay, enough of that. Closed book.

This year feels different already. Another chance to start over, and live the life I want to live.

But it started off with a weird, life-threatening, surreal incident.....
