Makeup Haul ~ New Launches + Drawer Organizers

I always get weird looks from the counter people at Lifestyle when I'm buying makeup. I don't know why. Maybe I appear too eager, maybe I walk from counter to counter a bit too crazily - sometimes back & forth to "compare", maybe I look too flustered, maybe I take too long to decide which shade I want, maybe I move to another counter while they are bent over those bottom cabinets looking for a product I asked for (they come back up & hey, where'd she go?!) maybe I ask "New launch? New Launch?" like a vendor in a train - "Bhel puri? Bhel puri?"

Okay, okay, I'll control myself next time. Before I set foot in the beauty floor, I'll coach myself first:
"Be cool. Breathe. Neutral facial expression. Walk graciously. Duchess Of Cambridge....."

First counter - Maybelline!

The Magnum Barbie Mascara ~ This is similar to The Falsies Mascar, but with a slightly more slender brush & the formula is more packed with fibres. First Impression: Could clump & smudge easily, but if you can handle that like a meticulous woman, false lash kind of volume & length!
Price: Rs.399

Color Sensational 3D Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Quartz Pink ~ A little palette of 5 eyeshadows, in which there is a top coat shimmer eyeshadow. Available in 4 shades.
Price: Rs.575

Color Show Big Apple Reds Nail Paints ~ A collection of 4 red shades. I picked up R2 Big Apple Red.
Price: Rs.145

Fit Me Concealer in #20 Sand ~ This is a repurchase. I'd got the first one in the same shade from UK, and they are both the same.
Price: Rs.500

Color Show 3D Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Quartz Pink

OOTD: Dungarees + Summer Beauty Picks

Hi, Hi! =)

Dungarees are back! I couldn't be more stoked, because I have this odd obsession with overall(s)-type things. To put it simply, I like suspenders. I like them a little too much.

When I become CEO someday, I'll make suspenders part of my office's uniform....we'll have, like, this retro 'Mad Men' kind of vibe. I'll wear them over a white ruffle shirt and a black pencil skirt...and black pumps...maybe cat eye glasses for that "pro look"....I'll sit with my legs on the table - more in a casual laid-back way than a  b**** boss way - and my assistant who's wearing a cabbie hat will barge in and announce, "Forbes. They want us on the cover of their May issue! They said it's very important we bring our own suspenders to the shoot next Saturday."

Pom Pom Lovin'

Obsessed with it.
Regret I don't have a handbag exactly like it.
To do the matching.
How do I NOT have a powder pink handbag?!
Wait.
Just wait.

Secret Of A Flat Tummy - Post Pregnancy

I wanna take a blog post to get real.

For most women, post pregnancy flab just doesn't disappear into thin air. Especially for us who are too lazy to "sweat it". Although I've been loving & comforted by the compliments on my post-baby body that is back to pre-baby body. I can't help feeling a little guilty. Guilty of a white lie, or more aptly a black lie - i.e. a black corset panty thing.

I'd say my main area of concern post pregnancy is the tummy (and hair loss, but that's another story), which I forget about most times, until I'm wearing body-hugging clothes. Then I'm reminded of how much I hate exercising and how much I've been loving McDonald's McEgg Burger & Pizza Express American Hottest Pizza.

So....when I want a dress to wear my gut & not the other way around , I have to bring in a mediator....

About this black lie: I love that it goes up to my rib cage. Just tuck everything in there kangaroo-style! I can wear it under anything, and I feel I don't slouch as much with it on. Adjustable hook closure makes it easy to put on. BUT it pinches some of the flab up, so you might want to complete the deceit with a longline bra or bralette.

I wore it under one of the most clingy dresses in the pic below....

(More pics here)

Shapewear styles that don't appeal to me:

1. Similar designs that don't have any hook closure. I have one and putting it on and getting out of it is a pain - literally!

2. Full body ones - from shoulder to thighs. If you wear one under a bodycon dress or pants-top combo, and you're at a party, tell me, how would you go to the bathroom??? No, no, I don't want to hear take off everything! =D
For me personally, if I have to shape from top to thighs, I'd definitely pick a two-piece.

3. Also, a full swimsuit style. Unless it's a two-piece/tankini style.

4. Oh ya, the super expensive ones. 4000 bucks?! I'd rather spend it on a dress/a handbag/Sephora/Chanel....

Of course those might work for others. Your body, your preference. I just want something that is pocket-friendly & bathroom-going-easy...haha!

Brand: Monomer
Size: Medium
Price: Rs.999, but it was on sale - I think half off.

I got it from Jabong last year, but it is now sold out. It was available in a nude color as well (why didn't I buy it??!!)

There are a lot of other styles that might work for you. Found similar designs here & here.

You can also check out Next & Mark's & Spencer for shapewear.

Do you have to wear these things?
If you've found your perfect shapewear, we want to know! =)

Thank You for reading & Have a great week!

I'm gonna start watching the tv series The Affair tonight, because it's been coming on cable & it looks like an interesting family drama. If you want horror, The Boy is quite good.

Talk again shortly.....

How Many Beauty Products Do I Use In A Day?

Before you read this post, I'd like to tell you 5 things about my younger self:

1. One time, when I was a teenager, I had only Rs.150 in my pocket. I needed to spend it, of course. I bought a big heavy bottle of Peach Hair Conditioner. I think it was Herbal Essences, but I'm not sure. Now that was a time when we only used hair products that came in those 2-rupee sachets, so it was a big deal. I gave up Lassi & Puri Sabji at a popular joint for it. I went home (super hungry), and used it before attending a wedding. The tailor didn't stitch my dress that well and my shoes hurt like hell, but "I just used a pricey fancy conditioner....woohooo!!!"

2. (I've told this story before) When I was younger than, or about, 10 years old, my nanny gave me 5 rupees to buy my Mom a birthday present. I bought her a tiny lipstick. A green one. The kind that turns pink once applied.  She didn't use it at all, but that thrill of buying a lipstick? I remember. To this day, I remember the little local shop with charcoal-stained & broken wooden walls, it was hot, you couldn't enter the shop, you could only point at what you want, I remember standing on tip toes to talk to the shopkeeper & then running home super duper excited, I remember.

3. I always looked forward to Sunday's Graphiti Magazine. Flipped it back to front, because first things first - The Beauty Tips section. Yes, I tried most, if not all, of them.

4. I used to love walnuts, I saved the shells, because I thought they looked too good to throw away. I didn't know what to do with them, but I had a feeling they were.... special. This was before my teens, so I knew nothing about walnut scrubs. Imagine older me finding 2 big packets of empty walnut shells on top of my textbooks in a cabinet!

5. Long before I could use makeup, meaning: school days, I applied Vaseline on my lashes to thicken & curl them. I'd pinch some lashes together - back then, just because. Beauty Hack right there.

What I wanted you to pick up from that is -
