Remember the days? How mad we all got over this palette? This is what I call a true CULT product.
I saw this relaunch happening the moment I heard Urban Decay was discontinuing their original Naked Eyeshadow Palette in 2018.
(Now we anticipate the return of the Volkswagen Beetle, yeah? Even if only to admire from afar.)
When the buzz in the makeup world was orbiting around the new, reformulated Naked Palette, I had the urge to take out my old palette from a drawer of all expired makeup products that I can't (CANNOT!) throw in the garbage. This is what it looks like now.....
The last time I bought an eyeshadow palette was exactly ONE YEAR AGO! It was the Makeup Revolution Flawless 4 Palette, which is the only palette I've been using since then & a couple of pans are almost empty.
This palette is the only one from the brand that interested me after all this time, and I was glad that they're 10% Off at Lifestyle. I hate 10% discounts, but something is better than nothing. Myntra is currently having 35% discount on Makeup Revolution, but these products aren't available there, unfortunately.
Revolution Pro Lipstick Collection Matte Nude
Price: Rs.1250 1125
Shades:
Matte Nude Naked
(I basically bought this collection for this shade)
I always get weird looks from the counter people at Lifestyle when I'm buying makeup. I don't know why. Maybe I appear too eager, maybe I walk from counter to counter a bit too crazily - sometimes back & forth to "compare", maybe I look too flustered, maybe I take too long to decide which shade I want, maybe I move to another counter while they are bent over those bottom cabinets looking for a product I asked for (they come back up & hey, where'd she go?!) maybe I ask "New launch? New Launch?" like a vendor in a train - "Bhel puri? Bhel puri?"
Okay, okay, I'll control myself next time. Before I set foot in the beauty floor, I'll coach myself first:
"Be cool. Breathe. Neutral facial expression. Walk graciously. Duchess Of Cambridge....."
First counter - Maybelline!
The Magnum Barbie Mascara ~ This is similar to The Falsies Mascar, but with a slightly more slender brush & the formula is more packed with fibres. First Impression: Could clump & smudge easily, but if you can handle that like a meticulous woman, false lash kind of volume & length!
Price: Rs.399
Color Sensational 3D Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Quartz Pink ~ A little palette of 5 eyeshadows, in which there is a top coat shimmer eyeshadow. Available in 4 shades.
Price:Rs.575
Color Show Big Apple Reds Nail Paints ~ A collection of 4 red shades. I picked up R2 Big Apple Red.

Fit Me Concealer in #20 Sand ~ This is a repurchase. I'd got the first one in the same shade from UK, and they are both the same.
Price: Rs.500
Color Show 3D Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Quartz Pink
It feels so good to be posting a LOTD after so long! I have so much to say, but I have to do a bunch of stuff and head out, so I'm just going to say what's important for now & save the rest for other posts to come.
I missed you. I hope all readers from Chennai are safe & sound. Lots of love to everyone who wrote to me & checked my blog regularly when I was away for so long! <3
So this look was inspired by this dark lippie & of course the headband I'm am absolutely in love with! Somebody invite me to a big fat Indian wedding so I can wear it with a matching lehenga I don't have! ;p
Do you recall, not long ago We would walk on the sidewalk Innocent, remember? All we did was care for each other
But the night was warm We were bold and young All around the wind blows We would only hold on to let go
Blow a kiss, fire a gun We need some(one) makeup to lean on Blow a kiss, fire a gun
All we need is some(body) makeup to lean on.

This blog post has been inspired by a song I'm obsessed with all week....
Lean On - by Major Lazer & DJ Snake.
Tell me you've heard it!
So are there certain makeup products you are almost emotionally attached to? Makeup you instinctively reach for, doesn't matter if you have other new (better even) makeup that are sitting right there. Makeup you can't imagine being without. Yes, you keep them all in one separate area/tray (they are the popular & envied kids on your vanity). Okay, it's time to say the dramatic words - Makeup You Lean On.
Here are mine & yes, they were also in my travel makeup bag.....
Face:
I use L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder in shade 320 Natural Beige when I want a matte finish. On days when I want a more dewy finish, I use Etude House Snow White Precious Mineral BB Cream in shade W13 (This version is from the Princess Happy Ending Collection)
For a heavier coverage I use both - BB Cream & then the foundation.
To conceal spots under eyes, I use the Revlon Colorstay Concealer in shade 03 Light Medium
To set everything in place, I apply Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in shade Translucent. As a finishing touch, and to mattify my oily summer skin further, I pat Street Wear Color Rich Perfection Compact Powder in shade Neutral.
For cheeks, I apply the blush I'm very very attached to - MAC Cream SodaSatin Blush from the Archie's Girls Collection, which was Limited Edition. I try not to use it all the time, but I can't...I can't stop! It's a pale peach color- swatches here.
Eyes:
For everyday, I do a quick neutral look and usually only contour my hooded crease, so
Naked Basics Palette is my go-to palette. It has everything I need & the palette is compact and easy to tote around everywhere I go.
To tightline my upper lash line, I use Colorbar Just Smoky Kajal Just Black. If you have small light eyes like mine, a black kohl on the bottom lash line can look too harsh, especially for day time, so I turn to a brown kohl instead - enter Bourjois Kohl Contour in shade 78 Brun Design.
If I feel like lining my upper lash line, I use Maybelline Colossal Liquid Liner, with the 0.4mm precision tip - my absolute favorite! More pics here
Lastly, the one product I could possibly end up in a psych ward without - Mascara! I've been really overworking Maybelline Colossal Waterproof Mascara. Seriously, like, 4-5 coats of it every-time! Do not disturb me when I'm building my lashes! =D
Brows:
Currently using Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil in shade 002 Hazel & Inglot Brow Shaping Pencil in shade #63, which is a waxy crayon stick that sets brows in place.
Lips:
Lancome Rouge In Love Lipstick in Rose Boudoir (Swatched here)
Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive mixed with MAC Vegas Volt. The resulting color is a pinky peachy beauty that's between a pink & coral.
If it's red I'm in the mood for, MAC Retro Matte Lipstick All Fired Up is my favorite these days, because it's not too bright.
Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Mauve It Over. Lined with Bourjois Levres Contour Lip Liner in shade#12 Facetieuse. My most-worn matte nude lippie!
I showed you mine, now show me yours....
*Name 3 makeup products you lean on.*
♥
Now bring the beat back!
I have a feeling this is my lose-weight song.
*Puts earphones on....runs to dressing room.....and locks door*
You know that feeling when you finish watching the finale of a TV series? Like something died inside you? Ya, that's the feeling I'm feeling these days - after I finished watching The Missing. It's such a brilliant show with an ending that still haunts me days later. Do watch it if you're into mystery.
So....if you're wondering what makeup I wore on Valentine's Day, this is it. I didn't get time to click photos that day, so I recreated the look. Well.... just eyes & lips, because a full LOTD with presentable hair is almost impossible for me to do these days! Even on V-Day, I had to put my son on a chair opposite me while I did my hair! He stopped crying & watched =D
I'll admit, I'm not much of a Simpsons fan. I found them cute and all, but I never really watched the series. Then I met someone who's hooked to the show - my Mr.CZ. Boy, is he obsessed! Yes, all the DVDs & figurines in the photos are his. I remember he'd start laughing, and tell me about something funny Homer did/said ("Mmm....bacon.")
Even though I would never skip this collection, I'd say he wanted me have it more than I did. So, in a way, they're for him. Which is weird to say because we are not talking to each other right now.... haha! ;p
Anyways, I'll dedicate this post to him.....and all you other Simpsons fans! Hope you'll like the fun pictures, I really enjoyed clicking them. Cartoon makeup collections are so FUN! =D
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, M·A·C honours the one, the only, THE SIMPSONS. We are celebrating the country’s favourite animated family and its beloved matriarch Marge with a vibrant colour collection that screams That Trillion Dollar Look. Our classic formulas and finishes you love are to blue dye for with an animated twist. All in limited-edition packaging that can only be described in one word: Eeeeexcellent. ~ MAC.
Most times, you go to MAC specially to check out a collection - All the products you want are SOLD OUT!
Sometimes, you walk into MAC without a purpose - You are greeted by a brand new collection you didn't even know had launched, and most products haven't sold out yet!
I fall in the latter category this time. I wasn't going ga-ga over this collection when it came out, and didn't have a wishlist. But when I ran my fingers over the water droplets....well....
Hi Everyone! Hope you're all doing good. Where have I been? I took a break from the internet. Detox. I hope my posts this week will make up for the slack these last couple of weeks - starting with this penny-saving post! You know SALE Season is on full swing here in Delhi, and although I haven't specially gone sale shopping yet, I stumbled on a few bargains. These are some of the things that I thought might interest you snazzy lot.....
I wish there'd be a new RULE for all beauty stores & brands: If a customer buys more than 5 products at once, they should be packed in a special box - like a present. How fun that would be?! The thrill of buying, and then the thrill of 'unboxing' when you get home. Coz everything looks better in a box - even a plain bar of soap! So, you can imagine my excitement when I was opening this orange box.
Maybelline launched 3 types of these wedding boxes ~ Pink, Coral, & Red, all housing 7 products. I will be showing you the contents of the Red one:
I have a vivid memory of one shopping trip I had at Debenhams in Dundee (Scotland). I was at the YSL counter- lost in lipstick swatching, and then I heard 2 women chatting with the (my) YSL SA about 3 feet from where I was standing: "........from INGLOT.......yes......for my engagement......so good.....hehe....."Suddenly my mind was *alert* and I looked up. The 2 women were of Indian or Middle Eastern origin, I wasn't sure. From what I understood, one of them just got engaged & the wedding date was approaching. I struggled with a thought- Should I? Interrupt them like a nosy person? Nah, I shouldn't. I'll just google. Ahh....I gots to know!
I walked towards them & pretended to ask the YSL SA something about the lipstick I was holding, and then I casually added: "Inglot is here in Dundee?"Luckily, I didn't get weird/annoyed looks. They told me it's only in Aberdeen, another small city about 1 hour away from Dundee.
The point of my story is, not many cities are lucky enough to have Inglot. In India, it is available in about 8 cities! It's not a store you can live without once you've had a taste (bite?) of it.
I had gone to the store in Select City WalkMall (New Delhi) last Friday, and had such a fun time customizing palettes and oggling at all the nail polishes (My God, I want them ALL!!!) Just wanted to share the pics I took inside the store.....
Pink Glitter'Vs'Purple Glitter = Purple got the most votes (here). So here is the tutorial....finally!
I apologize for the delay. This is the 2nd time I did this pictorial - because I didn't like the first one too much & also, I kept searching for my Inglot Duraline to use with the glitter, hoping I'd find it, only to realize I'd sold it off in a Blog Sale! So I had to go old school, so as not to delay it any further.
STEP 1: After priming lids with an eyeshadow primer, apply purple eyeshadow on lids up to your crease line.
STEP 2: Also apply purple e/s on outer half of lower lash line.
STEP 3: Take some pink e/s on a blending brush, and sweep it along the edges of the purple e/s in a window wiper motion. Run the brush along the purple line on lower lash line as well. Blending tutorial here.
STEP 4: With a pointy pencil brush, apply a brown e/s on the outer V of upper lid.
STEP 5: Shade inside the V. Take more brown e/s to intensify the color.
STEP 6: With the same pencil brush, take a lilttle bit of matte black e/s, and make a V along the inner edges of the previous brown e/s. Just a little to define the crease line a little bit more (especially if you don't have a deep crease line), coz we don't black to overpower the other colors.
Hi, everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I went to Lifestyle yesterday, and after rounding almost every makeup counter, I ended up in Deborah Milano and I didn't want to move on to another counter....or come back home, for that matter. I was so impressed with the unique products they have launched! In my fantasy land, I walked flew out of the store (glitter wings & tiara, of course!) with more than 10 products. But in my real land, I walked out (like a duck in my ballet flats) with 3.....
