FRIENDS Lego Set

In memory of Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing, in FRIENDS.

Gone too, too soon 💔

This LEGO set was built earlier his year, solely by my then 8-year-old son.
These photos have been in my phone since, but didn't think I'd actually post them here.

Until now.

MINISO Haul ~ August 2023

Do we love Miniso, or do we LOVE MINISO?

Miniso India has started keeping interesting stuff again since after Covid time. There was a phase when I was seeing the same things every time I visited their stores. Now the vibe is different - there are new keychains... and dish cleansing sponges.... and cat paw laundry clips I don't need but bought anyway.

Stuffed Toy Blanket ~ Product Of The Month

There are some things I buy for my kid that I wish I did not buy for my kid.
You know what I mean?

You tell your kid there's a surprise present on the way, he/she gets super excited, it arrives, you want it for yourself......but it's too late for you to stea--- backtrack.

It's actually a "Return Gift" he expects on his parents' birthdays.

After I checked everywhere online and found nothing, this stuffed toy reindeer blanket seemed like the best & cutest choice - that isn't Hot Wheels, or the likes. He's into plushies lately, so he adores it!

IKEA India Haul (Decor) ~ My First Time

By popular demand, here's my IKEA Haul, that I did while in Hyderabad.

My first ever visit to an IKEA store. That too, years agter I wrote this post in 2013! So it is a monumental day...haha.
For those who don't know, there's only one IKEA store in India right now.

Firstly, OH MY GOD! It was an overwhelming, one-of-a-kind experience shopping there!
The store was HUGE! So huge, it felt like an industrial factory.
I read it has a "Cafe", and this cafe is like a food court! You could literally live in the store for days! 😁

I loved the furniture & a lot of heavy things, but sadly we could only pack small things in suitcases.

IKEA could be opening their 2nd store in Gurgaon, which is where I'm at. So....I shall wait.
Maybe, then, I'll move into a brand new house, and fill it with Ikea everything, who knows.

In the meantime, here are the little things I managed to pick up in less than 2 hours.......

Serving You Some TEA......

Since some of you have been saying that I don't post personal stuff anymore, I thought I'd do a non-beauty related post, and serve you some rather tepid personal "TEA"......

I'm functioning well again, after I finished watching Criminal Justice. I can sleep (almost) peacefully again.

Made In Heaven is another TV show I was hooked too, but it didn't stress me out as much.

If I gain weight, it's because of the coconut crackers in these pictures.

I get up at 7:00 am to get Zii ready for school. Then I go to bed at either 12:00 am....or 4:00 am. 2019 is just gonna go *like that*, and I'll wake up one day & Zii is 10 years old.

♡ Speaking of Zii, he doesn't want to go back to school after ever weekend, so we have the same argument every Sunday night.

♡ It's my birthday month again. I'll turn 38, but currently feel about 42. Although I'm still drawn to kiddish things, as you can see.

♡ Somebody wrote: "LEARN TO PARK, FUCKER" on my car's bonnet, probably with a car key, or a coin. This was last year, and I'm now still driving around with that poetry.

On a positive note, I live in a world of unicorn coffee mugs, and heart-shaped teacup saucers, and lilac-coloured ice-cream....

Biscuits ~ Gone Mad Gery Coconut Crackers
(Really gone mad over these! I first tried the cheese ones, which are now in a cabinet, feeling neglected.)
Available on Amazon HERE.

Ice-Cream ~ London Dairy Ice-cream with Yogurt Berry Delight.
Available on Big Basket HERE.
(The berries-looking balls are actually those khatta-meetha thingies I picked up randomly from a store just because they looked like raspberries.)

Heart-shaped Candies ~ Heartbeat Lychee flavoured candies..
(Stolen from my son's stash.)

Tea ~ Brooke Bond Red Label. Favorite. Always.

Kiss Me Tea Cup & Heart Saucer ~ I bought from a Hallmark in my hometown.

Crystal Dessert Spoon ~ Daiso Japan. More pics HERE.

Macaron Spoon ~ Came with a pink ice-cream tumbler.

Speak again soon! ♥

Skincare Organizer ~ Rose Gold

I wanted a portable skincare organizer which isn't acrylic or plastic + would look alright on the vanity, and I think that's sorted for now. You don't know how many times I almost knocked these bottles off the table, because I was keeping them all over the place!

This basket tray is actually real stainless copper.

I keep cotton pads in that tin container, which was a birthday gift from my friends.

Real Copper Organizer Tray & Pop-up Cotton Swab Dispenser: From Viny Pop, a store like Miniso Japan.

Copper Organizer: Rs.550
(They had a whole set of copper organizers too - pen/brush holder & a smaller basket tray like this)

Cotton Swab Dispenser: Rs.250

If you're interested, you can check out some rose gold organizers on Amazon India HERE

If you're new, and eyeing my skincare products, you can check out my skincare post HERE

LOTD | Quotes That Changed My Life & Perspective

Hello, I'm Cynthia.
 .....and I'm a Quotes Addict

Seriously, if I ever come out with a book someday, that is how I did it. Because, you know....
"You become what you do everyday."
Hahaha!

And this is partly what I meant by Rabbit Hole in this post.

Words really are powerful. They can change how you live your life & make you
see things in a different light.

That's why I wanted to share my favorites in a blog post.
Well, they're really just a few of my favorites!

*Please note: I don't know or remember the source of most of them.

Look for the answer within your question. ~ Rumi

If you ever find yourself in the wrong story, leave. ~ Mo Willems.

The devil doesn't come dressed in a red cape & pointy horns.
He comes as everything you've ever wished for.

When you say "Yes" to others make sure you are not saying "No" to yourself.

Know your worth, then add tax.

They start to miss you when they fail to replace you.

When someone says "You've changed", it simply means you've stopped living your life their way.

Before taking down a wall, remember why you put it there in the first place.

Beware of Destination Addiction — a preoccupation with the idea that happiness is in the next place, the next job, or with the next partner. Until you give up the idea that happiness is
somewhere else, it will never be where you are.

I AM YOURS. DON'T GIVE MYSELF BACK TO ME. ~ Rumi

Making a big life change is pretty scary. But you know what's even scarier? Regret.

If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door. ~ Milton Berle.

Something I learned about people....If they do it once, they'll do it again.

Sometimes God doesn't change your situation, because he is trying to change your heart.

Know the difference between those who stay to feed the soil. And those who come to grab the fruit.

Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck. ~ Dalai Lama

I'm on the hunt for who I've not yet become.

You only lose what you cling to.

Fashion is what you buy. Style is what you do with it.

Don't be part of the gossip. Be the gossip.

Bangkok Hangover | Be Right Back

Hello! =)

Just a quick picture post to say that I haven't forgotten about you all and that I'll be right back.

If you don't follow me on Instagram & Facebook, you may not have known that this past week I was in Bangkok with my childhood friend to shop - the focus being her wedding gown & wedding stuff - but of course it didn't stop there. We're both born shopaholics, I know that now =D

Shop. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

Literally.

(....and yes, we were stopped by customs at the Delhi airport.)

Kiss Me Doll box contains a Bambi Scarf
Best Friend box is a glasses case. For prescription glasses, but my sunglasses fit too.
Long pink thingies are pens
Panda is a power bank
Princess Mirror & Comb (shown in 1st pic) from Daiso Japan

Crystal Petit Spoons & Forks + Teddy Bear set from Daiso Japan for only 60 Baht (Rs.120) each

Too Faced Love Flush Blush in How Deep Is Your Love & Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette

Before I sign off, there's a story of miscommunication....

At a wedding dress store:

Me: "She (my friend) doesn't want this design, because her sister wore something like it."

Store Manager: "Yes! Sister can!"

Me: "No, her sister already got married and wore a dress like this."

Store Manager: "Yes, sister....you....can! Can!"

Us: "Oh, okay, okay."

I had to hold my breath to keep myself from rolling on the floor laughing!

Talk again next week! :* :* :*

Also, giveaway will be announced then. Stay tuned.

LOTD: You Know......?

You know I can't remember the last time I wore blackish smoky eyes?

You know I've stopped wearing bold red & fuchsia lipsticks for a long time?

You know I want to binge read 'The Girl On The Train' before the movie comes out?

You know I get this  strong urge to lie back on the floor at a shopping mall, yoga flap my arms and legs in & out, and shout "THIS IS THE FEELS! I FEELS! I NO CRAZY!"?

You know the top I'm wearing costs less than all the products I'm wearing on my face?

Best Makeup Brush Washing Mat

I spied with my little eye this round yellow wafer-textured thingy at a home store, I didn't know what it was. I started thinking....

What's this? Round....silicone...more weighty than I thought...I feel like I need it...Rs.250....yup, I do need it. But for what? Oh, there's a picture on the back! Okay, basically, to keep hot pans and baking dishes. That I don't need. Why don't I bake anymore? Hmmm...put it back in the hook...moving on.... we need a saucepan with a lid for making popcorn...but a light pan, so it's easier to shake-shake- shake....why don't they make enough light or pastel cooking pots and pans in this country??! Also, Floral. Vintage floral, not big big sunflowery jhatak floral. Then I'll spend more time in the kitchen! Like Bree Van de Kamp...I'll bake something French, something I can't pronounce yet... coomberfroofrount...and wear a matching floral apron....and I'll ----
MAKEUP BRUSH WASHING MAT!

And I ran back to one of the best things I ever discovered ;p

It's amazing, you guys! I won't have pruned fingers after washing makeup brushes anymore, and I'm actually excited to wash them more often now! Plus, the brushes come out cleaner than when I'm only using my palms.

Brands had come out with gloves and fancy mats for makeup brush washing, but those came with hefty price tags. For me, this mat is best and all I'll ever need!

How I use it: I place it in the sink, let some water fill up in those little squares, squirt some Johnson's baby shampoo, and then swirl my brushes on it. Saves so much time! I also rinse them the same way with just water. After I'm done, I rinse the mat and shake off all the water from it, and place my brushes on it for drying.

Price: Rs.250 / $4 (ONLY)

(Have you seen the Sigma mat for $32?!)

From: Lifestyle Home Centre.

If you can only buy them online, I've searched for similar ones and linked them below:

Rectangular mat ~ here
Square mat ~ here
Round mat (my favs) ~ here

What do you think about this? NEED it or not?

Talk again soon & Happy Friday! =)

THE LAST TIME.....

You know what I absolutely love doing? Picking tomato seeds from tomato fried rice, which I make for Ziizayne. If I could, I'd make a whole bucket of tomato rice (with extra tomatoes, of course) and be at it all day. I'm serious! I enjoy picking little odd things out of little things.

You know what I absolutely hate doing? Packing & house moving. Today is the last day I'll be in this house. We're moving to a hotel tomorrow, and will be there until the work at our new place is done. Right now all I want is a back/head/leg massage.....and to sleep for a week.

Since I did a 'First Time' in this apartment post, I thought I'd do a 'Last Time' in it, as well.

If you read my First Time post, you will realize that we were greeted by a monkey & were also chased out by a (bigger) monkey =D (Read here)

Monkey menace aside, we decided to move to a smaller place. Until now, we were living in a 4BHK with 5 bathrooms (6 if we count the helper's quarter), and not only was it hard to maintain, it never felt cosy, and...I don't know, something or the other kept going wrong.

So we are moving to a 3BHK with only 3 bathrooms, where the rooms are much more compact.

I Wanted Everything & I Wanted To Cry

Matte finish white furniture. Almost Vintage/Victorian-looking.

I wanted to cry, because I'd already bought new furniture last year. Glossy finish. These weren't there at that time when I was desperate. I like my dresser, but I would've definitely picked this one over it.

In case you haven't seen my dressing table, you can go HERE

I missed seeing that tray table when I clicked these pics. Totally want it!

Can I have 2 vanities, pretty please? ;p

Sigh, I want that TV unit as well! And....

Okay, I want everything except the bed.

Pics clicked at Lifestyle Home Centre.

 Price range ~ Rs.40K +

Thank You for reading & I see you again soon! =)

Cheap & Awesome Makeup Drawer Organizers

How much are you willing to pay for 1 drawer organizer (be it acrylic or plastic)?

Me, no more than Rs.100. Especially when I'd need more than 5.

Which is why I was over the moon when I got these for Rs.50 ($0.8) each!

I picked up only 4 of them first to test how they'd fit in my drawer. They're perfect, and I needed 10 more for two drawers. 7 in each. I went back to the shop, but they weren't available at the time.

I got 2 white & 2 grey, coz I wasn't sure which color I wanted. Now I know I want only white.

Other available colors: Black, Pink, Purple, etc.

Bigger sizes are also available in the same design.

Home Shopping : My Favorite Pieces

That Yellow! I am utterly IN LOVE with it at the moment! The couch doesn't fit in or match the couches we already have and it's not soft and plushy enough, otherwise.......and yes, I want that table too! So matching with the yellow couch, no? =D

These are pictures I took in Lifestyle Home Centre of the things I really liked. I wanted to share, in case you all are looking for similar pieces......or just for inspiration.

I just love this dresser! The 'belt-type' leather pullers are so creative <3 Ooh...and that stool!
There's a matching chest of drawers too - see it in the mirror there.

Price: Rs.27,960

I've been on the hunt for a bed with a quilted headboard for a while now, and this is the only one I've found so far. It's nice, but I want a taller headboard. I think this was Rs.52,000-62,000.

That's all for today. Did you like anything?

Thank You for reading. Talk again soon!

Unboxing The Pretty Box! (What's Inside The Box?)

If you missed it, we played a mystery guessing game "What's Inside The Box?"  HERE. Thank You to everyone who participated, I had fun reading all your guesses!

LOL-ed at "Underwear" & "Maternity Panty".... hahaha! =D

Okay, so today I'm finally revealing what's in it! Nobody guessed both the things, but 2 readers got 1 thing right! So, they are the finalists.

The answer is.....

Cup & Kettle (or Tea Set)

2 readers guessed Cup & Saucer : Shilpa Gandotra & Sonia Rai.

Well done, ladies! =)

I had to shuffle & pick only 1 WINNER, and it is SHILPA GANDOTRA! Congrats!
