April Beauty Resolutions

Some people's resolution is to never let Yuvraj Singh bat in such an important match again.
Some people's resolution is to never vote for Congress again.

Mine is simply April Beauty Resolutions with an Apple on the side.

#1 Apply Bio Oil everyday ~ To prevent stretch marks. The ultimate test begins now, since I'm in my 2nd trimester. I've started using it religiously for the last 2 weeks. I hate the smell of Palmer's Cocoa Butter, so I'll be sticking to Bio Oil.

#2  Apply a Face Mask at least once a week ~ My skin has been acting out a lot these days, because of the weather & water change. Not just my face, but my legs and arms too. Right now, I'm using Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 Cleanser+Scrub+Mask, and I'm liking it a lot. Makes my face feel really clean, smooth & oil-free. But I'll soon stock up on natural/herbal masks, like Multani Mitti (fuller's earth), Sandalwood, etc.

#3 Use Hair Mask every time ~ When I don't use a hair mask, my hair feels drier, so I've decided to use one every time I wash it. I've been using TRESemmé Anti-Breakage Masque for months now, sometimes mixed with my conditioner to cut down shower time. It works well, makes my hair soft & sleek.

Liese Bubble Hair Color Platinum Beige Review, Swatch & LOTD

I know, I know. I'm very very late with this review. It's one of the pending ones from India, and I've had these pics for 4 months! My dark roots are already about 3 inches, and I'm thinking about changing the color again. So, I want to quickly show you how Liese Bubble Hair Color Platinum Beige looked on me.
I love Liese hair colors mainly because the bubbly foam makes it very easy to color evenly without missing any spots at the back of the head.
Platinum Beige is an ash brown shade.

Sunsilk Keratinology Shampoo, Conditioner, Heat Protectant Spray: Review

Apologies for the late review of these babies. You know I've been so scattered lately. I'll keep it short and to the point:
  • Sunsilk  Keratinology Sun Kissed Color Therapy Shampoo, Rs.170 ~ It's a light golden color creamy shampoo that lathers thickly- like no other shampoo I've used. It makes my hair softer, clean, and I experience less hair fall with it. I am loving it a lot, and it has become one of my favorite shampoos.
  • Sunsilk  Keratinology Sun Kissed Color Therapy Express Treatment Conditioner, Rs.170 ~ It's not as thick as I'd like it to be. I don't think I'll repurchase this even if I repurchase the Shampoo. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just nothing special. Yes, it conditions hair after shampoo, but it doesn't make it as soft & silky as I want. So-so conditioner for me personally, but it could work better for virgin hair (undamaged, people!)
  • Sunsilk  Keratinology Heat Protectant Spray, Rs.400 ~ If you blow dry & iron your hair everytime after shampooing, YOU-NEED-THIS. It makes blow dried hair more bouncy & shiny, adds a little volume & the straightening iron glides on more smoothly. Before, I used to hear a trat-trat hair-against-ceramic plates sound when ironing, but not when I spray some of this before the process. I really saw the difference with & without this spray. Nope, it doesn't make hair greasy, coz it's watery. For me, it was love at first use. Must-have.

Sunsilk Keratinology Products From MedplusBeauty.Com

This is kind of a review of MedPlus Beauty, an online beauty store. I ordered Sunsilk Keratinology Sun Kissed Colour Therapy Shampoo & Sun Kissed Colour Therapy Conditioner. I saw them at my supermarket last week & was so so tempted, but I decided to check online first- coz maybe I would get them cheaper. And yes, I was right.
They both cost Rs.200 each, but MedPlus offers a 15% discount on Sunsilk Keratinology, so Rs.170 bucks each. You save 60 bucks (woohoo.... lol).

Ordered on: 23rd Feb '12
Received on: 27th Feb '12

[To tell you the truth, I almost cancelled my order because I didn't get a shipment confirmation email, and I thought they would take too long to deliver. I emailed to cancel, but they said I would receive them today, which I did.]

In the end, I'm happy with my first shopping experience with MedPlus Beauty.

The products were packed in a big box with some thermocol, and both were wrapped in bubble wrap.

August Favorites ~ Makeup, Skincare, Haircare Etc

The votes were in, and most of you like Monthly Favorites blog posts. High Five! I like them too! :)

I just wrote August in the title, when in fact I've been using some of these products long before August.

  1. Spring It! Hair Removing Spring Thing ~ I can't live without this anymore! I use it mainly to remove hair from my upper lip, which I have to do often coz I click a lot of lip photos over here. On camera, even a leetle bit of hair look offensive (shown here). Basically, you hold both ends down into a U-shape, roll the spring on your skin, and straighten it to pull out the hair. Quick & painless- once you get used to it :))
  2. Clearasil Acne Clearing Scrub ~ This makes my face feel really smooth. The scrub isn't so big and abrasive, so it wouldn't hurt a ripe pimple. I leave it on as a mask too sometimes. However, it doesn't prevent pimples, coz I have a pimple right now when I'd just used it 2-3 days ago. But in it's defense, I'm getting pimples on and off lately.
  3. Herbal essences None Of Your Frizziness Serum ~ With anti-humidity technology, it says. I love that it smells like mangoes. Slice, to be precise. It does help tame the frizziness I get right after washing.
  4. Etude House Missing U Hand Cream 'Panda Story'~ I LOVE this panda so much! I should have bought all of them! This one smells peachy and it does not make my hand feel slippery. I'm so afraid to use it coz I don't want it to be finished! (also shown here). Must collect more next time!
  5. Olay 7-in-1 Total Effects Anti-Ageing Eye Cream ~ I'm liking this a lot. It has tiny gold flecks in it, which are unnoticeable when applied. It's not very greasy/oily. The outer corners of my eyes used to be dry-ish and this has moisturized them to normalcy. Fine lines have also noticeably reduced. You can mix this with your concealer, and you've got yourself a YSL Touche Eclat dupe...ish, I think =D
  6. MAC Quite Cute Mineralize Blush Giggly ~ Favorite pink blush of the moment (swatches here). It looks so good especially at night under yellow light. I think it could be my favorite pink blush of all time.
  7. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation #53 ~ This is almost exactly like the original Healthy Mix Foundation, except it is thinner (more liquid-ey) and less oily. It is easier to blend than the original too. Yes, I do like it better than the original. It smells so fruity & fresh, I could eat it. Coverage- Light to Medium.

Liese Bubble Hair Colour- Chiffon Beige Review & LOTD

I miss my long hair. I MISS IT!!!

I got frustrated with my bad haircut last week, so I thought 'Why not color it and distract people from the cut?!' (Wrong!)

Enter Liese Bubble Hair Colour. I got Chiffon Beige- a yellow brown shade. I wish they had more neutral shades. I wouldn't have picked anything with a gold-undertone, but this looked the least reddish/orange-ish & I really wanted to try the bubble hair color.

Fixing A Bad Hair Coloring Job

I got my hair colored 2 weeks back at a salon, and I wasn't happy with the result. In spite of being a certified hairstylist myself, I always get confused when it comes to my own hair, especially with color. I'm not sure what went wrong, really. I told the guy I didn't want my hair to be bleached, but he (and his posse and the manager) told me it wasn't possible to lighten my hair without bleach. Then I thought it's rude to keep telling them how to do their jobs, right? So I shut up and went along with it.
They used a pre-lightener (twice, or in his words- 'refresh' the bleach) and then Loreal Majirel 8.31 (beige blonde). Here's what I looked like when I reached home (tired, with backache & apparently no lipstick)....

Managed a smile for the camera
It may not look so bad there, coz it was night time & with flash, but in daylight it looked like this...

>.< Me no likey! Leopard automatically came to mind
I paid 3000 rupees for that. Oh... the regret & the guilt!

Find Katy Perry/Lady Gaga Wigs, Eyelashes & Costume Items At KKCenterHK

I was contacted by this Hong Kong-based online website called KKCenterHK right around the time I was looking for a Katy Perry wig. As you all know wigs and such are very hard to find in India (and Miss Jo didn't have the ones I want ether.) I checked out the site, and boy! They sell a lot of stuff! Wigs, Eyelashes, Gloves & Stockings, MakeupESSIE Nail Polishes, and shoes too! :). They ship internationally, which I'm really happy about, coz I really needed an online store for wigs and stuff. You know I like to dress up! =D

Anyways here's what they sent:

New Type Of Hair Brush

I am loving this hair brush that looks kinda like a Harmonica (or something like a harmonica ;) ). I actually bought this sometime in the earlier months of this year from Kunchal's. I was paying for some makeup and saw a salesman holding a few of these hair brushes, and I went: "What's that?! Gimme!"
