Remember the days? How mad we all got over this palette? This is what I call a true CULT product.
I saw this relaunch happening the moment I heard Urban Decay was discontinuing their original Naked Eyeshadow Palette in 2018.
(Now we anticipate the return of the Volkswagen Beetle, yeah? Even if only to admire from afar.)
When the buzz in the makeup world was orbiting around the new, reformulated Naked Palette, I had the urge to take out my old palette from a drawer of all expired makeup products that I can't (CANNOT!) throw in the garbage. This is what it looks like now.....
I was (and still am) so bored with the beauty scene here in India, because everything on my wish list isn't available here. I hadn't bought an eyeshadow palette since the Revolution Flawless 4 Palette, like, over 1 year ago. I don't even want to go makeup shopping anywhere in this city anymore.
So, when news got out that Sephora India was bringing Anastasia Beverly Hills, or 'ABH', to our shores, I was like, "Ahhhh......water!"
I always get weird looks from the counter people at Lifestyle when I'm buying makeup. I don't know why. Maybe I appear too eager, maybe I walk from counter to counter a bit too crazily - sometimes back & forth to "compare", maybe I look too flustered, maybe I take too long to decide which shade I want, maybe I move to another counter while they are bent over those bottom cabinets looking for a product I asked for (they come back up & hey, where'd she go?!) maybe I ask "New launch? New Launch?" like a vendor in a train - "Bhel puri? Bhel puri?"
Okay, okay, I'll control myself next time. Before I set foot in the beauty floor, I'll coach myself first:
"Be cool. Breathe. Neutral facial expression. Walk graciously. Duchess Of Cambridge....."
First counter - Maybelline!
The Magnum Barbie Mascara ~ This is similar to The Falsies Mascar, but with a slightly more slender brush & the formula is more packed with fibres. First Impression: Could clump & smudge easily, but if you can handle that like a meticulous woman, false lash kind of volume & length!
Price: Rs.399
Color Sensational 3D Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Quartz Pink ~ A little palette of 5 eyeshadows, in which there is a top coat shimmer eyeshadow. Available in 4 shades.
Price:Rs.575
Color Show Big Apple Reds Nail Paints ~ A collection of 4 red shades. I picked up R2 Big Apple Red.
Price: Rs.145
Fit Me Concealer in #20 Sand ~ This is a repurchase. I'd got the first one in the same shade from UK, and they are both the same.
Price: Rs.500
Color Show 3D Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Quartz Pink
It feels so good to be posting a LOTD after so long! I have so much to say, but I have to do a bunch of stuff and head out, so I'm just going to say what's important for now & save the rest for other posts to come.
I missed you. I hope all readers from Chennai are safe & sound. Lots of love to everyone who wrote to me & checked my blog regularly when I was away for so long! <3
So this look was inspired by this dark lippie & of course the headband I'm am absolutely in love with! Somebody invite me to a big fat Indian wedding so I can wear it with a matching lehenga I don't have! ;p
The much-awaited Maybelline THE NUDES Eyeshadow Palette.
12 neutral eyeshadows in one palette! There's a balanced mix of matte & shimmery eyeshadows, and of course you get the ever-faithful dual-ended sponge tip applicator.
The 5.5/3.5" (approx) packaging is light & travel-friendly.
If you're confused how and what to use, there's a useful guide at the back.
I wish there'd be a new RULE for all beauty stores & brands: If a customer buys more than 5 products at once, they should be packed in a special box - like a present. How fun that would be?! The thrill of buying, and then the thrill of 'unboxing' when you get home. Coz everything looks better in a box - even a plain bar of soap! So, you can imagine my excitement when I was opening this orange box.
Maybelline launched 3 types of these wedding boxes ~ Pink, Coral, & Red, all housing 7 products. I will be showing you the contents of the Red one:
Some people's resolution is to never let Yuvraj Singh bat in such an important match again.
Some people's resolution is to never vote for Congress again.
Mine is simply April Beauty Resolutions with an Apple on the side.
#1Apply Bio Oil everyday ~ To prevent stretch marks. The ultimate test begins now, since I'm in my 2nd trimester. I've started using it religiously for the last 2 weeks. I hate the smell of Palmer's Cocoa Butter, so I'll be sticking to Bio Oil.
#2 Apply a Face Mask at least once a week ~ My skin has been acting out a lot these days, because of the weather & water change. Not just my face, but my legs and arms too. Right now, I'm using Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 Cleanser+Scrub+Mask, and I'm liking it a lot. Makes my face feel really clean, smooth & oil-free. But I'll soon stock up on natural/herbal masks, like Multani Mitti (fuller's earth), Sandalwood, etc.
#3Use Hair Mask every time ~ When I don't use a hair mask, my hair feels drier, so I've decided to use one every time I wash it. I've been using TRESemmé Anti-Breakage Masque for months now, sometimes mixed with my conditioner to cut down shower time. It works well, makes my hair soft & sleek.
(I promise, this is the last Revlon post for a while! =D )
I think the concept of Revlon Colorstay ShadowLinks, where you can customize your own shades & link together single eyeshadows to create a trio, quad, or a palette is brilliant. I was very excited to create my own. A lot of shades that were launched weren't available in Lifestyle (which includes matte black, brown, greige, etc), so I just picked up 3 shades. that I liked best.
Bone #010: A matte ivory. I got this mainly to use as a brow bone e/s
"GET DOWN, EVERYONE!" I raised my voice and held up my deadly weapon* like a bank robber. "I said get down! You there! Get down! Yes, on the floor!Put your hands behind your head.", then I took giant steps towards the Urban Decay drawers and opened them one by one. I know it's there in one of them. Right bottom drawer. That's where I saw about 10 Naked 3 Palettes stacked on top of each other. I turned, and gave a dirty look to the SA, who's staring at me with big confused eyes, her left cheek pressed on the marble floor, both hands behind her head, and her blonde side-parted bob fell like a limp leaf over her right eye. I took out one of the palettes and bagged it. I stood up, pulled up my slouched tights, and took out two £20 bills from my wallet. I placed them on the counter next to a small notepad. "Keep the change.", I said, and ran out of the store.
Okay, so that's what I imagined doing when the Urban Decay SA told methey had Naked 3 but were to be sold only to people who have already paid for it in advance. Remember I told you the story about me going to Debenhams and
the SA saying it'll be launched the following Saturday? (Post here.) Well, I went that Saturday evening. It was dark, freezing cold and pouring down rain. Of course I dragged Mr.CZ along with me. We reached Debenhams and a different SA told me only pre-orders were there. Meaning if I'd ordered
online and chose 'deliver to store' option. This was the 3rd time I went looking for it, mind
you. I was very upset & angry. My new boots got wet & my eyeliner had smudged all around my undereyes. I thought about the Pepper Spray* in my handbag & Ryan Gosling in The Place Beyond The Pines, and my imagination went psycho.
It is beautiful! The rose gold packaging looks better than I thought. The palette comes with a double-ended shadow/blending brush & an Eyeshadow Primer Potion sampler with resealable samples of all four formulas (Original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Aging). Each sample holds about a week’s worth of Primer. I have yet to swatch and wear the palette, coz I want to christen it on Christmas Day...hehe. So I will post swathes after some time.
Price of Naked 3 ~£37 | Rs.3749. I went home and ordered it online from Debenhams.com.
Pics below were taken with and without flash, so you can see how the colors look in different lighting.
TOO MANY! E-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e I turn there's something cute....and pretty....and dreamy....and unaffordable.
Bourjois Glamour Perfumes ~ Good Gawd! I wouldn't know which one to choose! Chic, Lovely, Excessive, Fantasy....probably Lovely....no, Fantasy....maybe Excessive...Chic too....ahhhh.... leave me alone!
Benefit Lolli Tint ~ A lollipop pink lip & cheek tint, like the Benetint.
Hello! It's time for a special Giveaway again! It took me this long to announce it because I was quite confused about the prizes. I wanted to give products that you all would LOVE.
I asked in IVC Facebook Page what you all want with all your heart and soul, and the product that topped the list was Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. That was my first option too. BUT if I picked that, it'll just be one prize since it's pricey, and I wanted to give at least two (always two) products. I will surely include the NAKED 2 in my next giveaway.
After a lot of thought, I went with my instinct, and picked my most loved products.
Prizes:
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick ~ Shade of WINNER's choice! Because I just can't get enough of them & want them ALL! So I want to gift 1 to one lucky IVC reader.
Sleek Oh So Special Eyeshadow Palette ~ Because it's a very versatile palette, great for everyday & party looks. I've swatched it here.
So I finally took pictures & used this INGLOT 10 Square Eyeshadow Palette that I got in April (April!)I'd over-swatched & obsessed over all the colors at the store, so I already knew I'd have no complaints about the quality of any of them. They're all amazing!
Hope you like it...and it's name! =)
Price:
Eyeshadow Refills ~ Rs.350 x 10 = Rs.3500
10 Square Freedom Palette ~ Rs.1400
Total: Rs.4900.
463 DS ~ Ivory with sparkly gold shimmer. Perfect for the inner corners.
341Matte ~ A pale peachy pink. It'll be used for blending, but it can be used as a subtle blush too!
37Shine ~ Metallic Bronze. Always wearable.
460DS ~ Taupe with gold & silver shimmer. This was love at first sight.
326Matte ~ This is so far my favorite deep cool brown eyeshadow. It's so silky!
464 DS ~ Terracotta with gold shimmer. I would wear this with 504.
477DS ~ Lime green with golden shimmer. This is the one I bought twice, btw (post here)
71 AMC ~ Purple with silver shimmer. It's hard to find purple eyeshadows that are pigmented, but this is pretty good.
504DS ~ Turquoise blue with silver shimmer. I'm loving this on my eyes these days. I wore it only on my lower lash line the other day, and applied it with a wet brush.
482DS ~ Prussian blue with silver shimmer. It's absolutely gorg! It pops when worn over a cream e/s, like Maybelline Color Tattoo.
I decided to start wearing eyeshadows that I never wear, because I realized I was stuck on 5-10 neutrals.I took out all my palettes from their drawer to pick them out...... and that led to this post.
These are all the eyeshadow palettes I have with me here. 6 of them I took from India, the rest I got from UK.
MUA Poptastic Palette ~ I have swatched this palette last year, but never posted pics.
Sleek Makeup Oh So Speciali-Divine Palette~ Swatches here.
Sleek Makeup Candy i-Divine Palette ~ Swatches here
Inglot 10 Square Freedom System Eyeshadow Palette ~ Don't hate me for placing it upside down. It's also still brand new & unused. Photos coming soon, promise. I'm dying to use it!
Uh-oh, odd number! Must must even it asap.
Many readers have emailed me asking about eyeshadow palettes - inexpensive ones. I'd suggest MUA ones or these big palettes I've written about a long time ago.....
If you want colorful, the 120 palette is the best....
I find these palettes very useful. Sometimes I wish I had them with me, especially when I need a specific color that's not in any of my palettes, and I don't want to buy singles. You'll find them on Ebay, KK Center HK, BH Cosmetics. Back when I got them, they used to cost under Rs.1000.

If you like makeup collection posts, I've done my Lipstick Collectionhere
The night before I went to buy these, I had a dream:
A cardboard box came in the mail. By mail, I mean it magically appeared inside our front door. The box was quite big, oven-sized. I was ecstatic, because I vividly remember seeing all my teeth. I opened the box, and saw another smaller cardboard box inside it. I opened the smaller box, and saw a long pink box among some bubble-wrapped things. As I dragged the box to the living room, I clicked photos at the same time. In my mind, I was doing unboxing for the blog. I had no idea what I was unboxing, but I kept clicking and walking towards the bright living room. I was about to unwrap everything and find out what's inside the long pink box, then....
I woke up. I woke up! Why? Why do dreams like this always get cut short???
I felt cheated & irritated when I got up. Later that day, I headed to Superdrug and got some Candy to get over the anticlimactic dream.
Sleek i-Divine Candy Eyeshadow Palette ~ All bright and sweet shades with cute names: Strawberry Sherbet, Bon Bon, Parma Violet, Apple Sour, Pear Drop, Flump, Liquorice, Blue Fizzle, Aniseed, Bubble Gum, Mint Cream, Cream Soda.

Sleek i-Divine Candy Eyeshadow Palette Swatches
Sleek Makeup Blush By 3 Sweet Cheeks ~ This is a palette of 3 blushers- a cream blush Cupcake, a matte blush Dolly Mix & a shimmer blush Candy Floss. This is a Hot Seller, because there was only 1 left that day. I got it only because I called Superdrug, and they kept it aside for me (Phew!) All the colors are so deliciously pretty! Take a look at the swatches below....
