As you all know, Rihanna launched her most-awaited beauty brand last year. FENTY, as in Robyn Rihanna Fenty. If you didn't know that, it's alright, I didn't know it either.
In Rachel Green's words, I thought she was just Rihanna.... you know, like Moses.
To be honest, the products didn't really appeal to me when I first saw them. Maybe I had just grown up a bit more, and wasn't going crazy over every new launch & getting sucked into every new hype, you know. But when I saw them at Sephora (Bangkok), I felt kind of obligated to get something, mainly because I love her music so much..... I felt I had to pick up at least 1 product. Well, one thing led to another... and this is what I ended up with!
He looked down, and kicked an imaginary pebble on the ground.
"Never mind. I shouldn't be asking.", she said with a smile. He wasn't looking at her.
Still not looking at her, he answered, "It used to be something unattainable. Like a private jet, a lifetime supply of everything Nintendo, waking up next to Sunny Leone, to be Batman once a month ..... but now.... it's something right in front of me, yet just as unattainable, and probably something I kinda already know I'll never have.....", then his eyes met hers before she could look away".....that heart of yours."
Like a punctuation to his words, a single tear rolled down her left eye. Like it's the only rational thing to do, she hugged him. As she listened to his heart beat faster, and felt his hand in her hair, she shut her eyes as tightly as she possibly could, in an attempt to shoo a single thought she wished she could forget forever. No, please, go awa..... *I wished it was him instead of you.*
Shooting stars didn't grant wishes after all.

How round is the tip of your MAC Ruby Woo Lipstick now?
Mine is really round with zero edge that I don't feel like applying it, because it's not a lipstick formula that easy to clean when it smudges. If you own it, I know ya feel whah I'm sayin' (Yeah, say that like Drake!)
I've also misplaced the Bourjois Lip Liner that's a dupe for it. Now I just have to wait for the Lip Pencil to re-untie me with Ruby Woo...
Do you recall, not long ago We would walk on the sidewalk Innocent, remember? All we did was care for each other
But the night was warm We were bold and young All around the wind blows We would only hold on to let go
Blow a kiss, fire a gun We need some(one) makeup to lean on Blow a kiss, fire a gun
All we need is some(body) makeup to lean on.

This blog post has been inspired by a song I'm obsessed with all week....
Lean On - by Major Lazer & DJ Snake.
Tell me you've heard it!
So are there certain makeup products you are almost emotionally attached to? Makeup you instinctively reach for, doesn't matter if you have other new (better even) makeup that are sitting right there. Makeup you can't imagine being without. Yes, you keep them all in one separate area/tray (they are the popular & envied kids on your vanity). Okay, it's time to say the dramatic words - Makeup You Lean On.
Here are mine & yes, they were also in my travel makeup bag.....
Face:
I use L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder in shade 320 Natural Beige when I want a matte finish. On days when I want a more dewy finish, I use Etude House Snow White Precious Mineral BB Cream in shade W13 (This version is from the Princess Happy Ending Collection)
For a heavier coverage I use both - BB Cream & then the foundation.
To conceal spots under eyes, I use the Revlon Colorstay Concealer in shade 03 Light Medium
To set everything in place, I apply Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in shade Translucent. As a finishing touch, and to mattify my oily summer skin further, I pat Street Wear Color Rich Perfection Compact Powder in shade Neutral.
For cheeks, I apply the blush I'm very very attached to - MAC Cream SodaSatin Blush from the Archie's Girls Collection, which was Limited Edition. I try not to use it all the time, but I can't...I can't stop! It's a pale peach color- swatches here.
Eyes:
For everyday, I do a quick neutral look and usually only contour my hooded crease, so
Naked Basics Palette is my go-to palette. It has everything I need & the palette is compact and easy to tote around everywhere I go.
To tightline my upper lash line, I use Colorbar Just Smoky Kajal Just Black. If you have small light eyes like mine, a black kohl on the bottom lash line can look too harsh, especially for day time, so I turn to a brown kohl instead - enter Bourjois Kohl Contour in shade 78 Brun Design.
If I feel like lining my upper lash line, I use Maybelline Colossal Liquid Liner, with the 0.4mm precision tip - my absolute favorite! More pics here
Lastly, the one product I could possibly end up in a psych ward without - Mascara! I've been really overworking Maybelline Colossal Waterproof Mascara. Seriously, like, 4-5 coats of it every-time! Do not disturb me when I'm building my lashes! =D
Brows:
Currently using Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil in shade 002 Hazel & Inglot Brow Shaping Pencil in shade #63, which is a waxy crayon stick that sets brows in place.
Lips:
Lancome Rouge In Love Lipstick in Rose Boudoir (Swatched here)
Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive mixed with MAC Vegas Volt. The resulting color is a pinky peachy beauty that's between a pink & coral.
If it's red I'm in the mood for, MAC Retro Matte Lipstick All Fired Up is my favorite these days, because it's not too bright.
Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick in Mauve It Over. Lined with Bourjois Levres Contour Lip Liner in shade#12 Facetieuse. My most-worn matte nude lippie!
I showed you mine, now show me yours....
*Name 3 makeup products you lean on.*

Now bring the beat back!
I have a feeling this is my lose-weight song.
*Puts earphones on....runs to dressing room.....and locks door*
I was making breakfast one morning. Eggs, bread, stir-fried mushrooms, chai-style tea (by chai-style, I just mean more milk, 2 types of tea leaves & boiled in a saucepan.) Multitasked by making 3 of them at once on our 3 burner stove. Left Burner - Bread (I like to fry it lightly in olive oil & pretend it's homemade garlic bread.) Middle Burner - Onions, garlic & green chillies (For the mushrooms I'd be adding afterwards.) Right Burner - The chai-style tea. Oh, I forgot to mention the eggs were already boiled- not too runny, not too hard. Perfect. Things were going well. I just had to add the mushrooms & finish making the tea. I'll be able to sit down, and my son would squeal ecstatically while he watched me eat. That's what he does these days. Then it happened! I added the first scoop of tea leaves to the onion/garlic/green chillies pan instead! I can't even....... Yes, I chopped & made a fresh batch after the accident, coz the mushrooms weren't added yet. But still, I haven't forgiven myself. Such an idiot!
Later that same day, I put a big bow on my head to make myself feel better.
And a brand new red lipstick.....
MAC Relentlessly Red from the Retro Matte Collection.
It got this lippie last year, but didn't start wearing it until last month. I'm loving it like all the other Retro Matte Lipsticks I have. At first, I thought it'd be too similar to MAC All Fired Up, but they're completely different.
First off, I want to say this is not my idea. Credit goes to a Youtuber - Deepica Mutyala - a girl who's probably made all pricey "Dark Circle Correctors" obsolete. Her makeup tip of using RED LIPSTICK to mask dark undereye circles (and prevent them from showing through concealers) had everybody talking - because it sounds ridiculous! That is, until you see her demonstration. I'll attach her video below.
So, after I watched her video, I really wanted to try it on myself. I straight away tried the trick with a coral lipstick, because I knew red would not work on my skin tone. But just to put the original tip to the test, I also tried a red lipstick, and it did ended up looking too pink & didn't brighten up my under eye areas like the coral one. I guess red lipstick works best on deeper skin tones.
This is the 2nd time I did this. The 1st time, I was blown away by the difference it made. Something about the lipstick that made the result look almost airbrushed (especially from afar, and not so up-close like you'll see mine below... hehe!)
I did a step-by-step to show you how I did it:
Step 1: I applied the coral lipstick straight from the tube. Just a swipe. I'm still not sure how much I need really =D
Step 2: I dotted concealer on top of the coral lipstick. That is a lil' too much, and I had to blend the extra downwards around my cheeks too.
Step 3: Blended them together with a blending brush. I find fingers or a sponge blend them better than a brush like this.
Step 4 (not shown): Set with loose powder. In the AFTER pic, I hadn't used powder yet.
I'll agree I didn't have serious dark under eye circles to begin with, but see how it concealed those little sun spots/freckles. Next, I'm gonna try different red/coral lipsticks (probably matte ones) on other spots and blemishes, and see how much they'll be concealed.
***I forgot to mention the staying power when I published this post: The concealer holds on really well to the lipstick, and they both set well on to the skin. I guess it's the wax in the lipstick. Once blended seamlessly, they don't crease & settle into fine lines. Especially after powder, the coverage is budge-proof!
Hello, Everyone! How have you all been? It seems like I haven't done a post like this in sooo long! This is my first LOTD after childbirth and, as you can see, the little one woke up from his afternoon nap. He was actually fussing there. Face/Neck scratching & hair pulling.....Ahh, where are those mittens?!!! And I had to wipe off that lipstick fast fast, because......
MAC Lady Danger Lipstick (Matte) ~ Described as Vivid bright coral-red. I got MAC Lady Danger mainly because I wanted an orange version of MAC Ruby Woo, my most favorite red lipstick EVER, and the vivid coral is punctuated by just the right amount of red to make it exactly what I had in mind. Well, almost exactly what I had in mind.....
I'm sure you already know this. Take back 6 empty (or just old & useless) containers to MAC and get 1 Lipstick from the permanent line absolutely FREE!
You can take back anything with Back 2 MAC written on the box. I took 13 (just in case), and brought back 1 (the lipstick) for the next exchange.
My Pile: Cleanse Off Oil, Fix+ Spray, Cream Colour Base x 2, Studio Finish Concealer, Fluidline, Lipstick (Patisserie), Lipglasses, Brow Set.
Bubbles, you're so heavy! It makes me want to bend on all fours to get you off my spine.... Like a cat - MEOW! Okay, we should do a "Maternity Shoot" I dress up and pose and show off how big we've gotten, You try not to headbutt my bladder like you want to evict it. Hmm....How.....Where? Most people seem to go to serene forest-type places.... with trees and daisies and magical-looking sun rays
What's a Babymoon? A vacation you take before the baby comes. It's supposed to be like a Honeymoon. Most people head abroad, but we stayed in the city, because I can't handle long journeys - even when I wasn't pregnant. I need to take a tablet to prevent air/motion sickness every time I travel far.
We went to stay in Delhi at Svelte Personal Suites Hotel. The one on top of Select City Walk Mall. Just for 3 days. 3 days of only eating & shopping! It was fun to be a tourist (well, sort of) in your own city. We discovered good shops & restaurants that we probably wouldn't have otherwise. This was what I wore on the last day. It's my favorite dress.....
The hotel has a terrace pool. As you can see, it was very windy. Control the flying dress or flying hair?
Following my post on L'Oreal Lincoln Rose (here), I've had a few requests to compare it to MAC Ruby Woo. So, I decided to include the other 3 red matte lippies that I've got in this post:
MAC Ruby Woo (Retro Matte), Rs.990 ~ Reviewed here
MAC RiRi Woo (Retro Matte), Rs.990 ~ Swatched here
*MAC Ruby Woo & RiRi Woo are practically twins. You'd be happy with either. I've compared them in this post
Maybelline Superstay Non-Stop Red, Rs.549 ~ This costs the least. I've swatched other shades from this range here.
L'Oreal Moist Matte Lincoln Rose, Rs.899 ~ Swatched here
Inglot Matte Crayon #21, Rs.680 ~ Swatched before here
MAC Ruby Woo, MAC RiRi Woo, Maybelline Superstay Non-Stop Red, L'Oreal Matte Moist Lincoln Rose, Inglot Lip Crayon #21
She is the talk of the town after her first appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2014. Forget the Roberto Cavalli gown! My eyes didn't even travel down when I first saw her. Even now I don't really know what the cut is like. Her face, hair & makeup were what made her look....especially the red lips!
When the lipstick isn't blotted, it looks a little bit balmy like here & in the pic below.....
I know, I know, I disappeared for more than 3 days again! That's why I wanted to do a big post today. Did you know I'm apartment hunting these days? A lil' more on that at the end of this post.
Immediately after reaching home yesterday, I suddenly wanted to do a MAC Lipstick Collection. It was evening time, and although I spent over half an hour clicking, I ended up not liking the pictures. So these are the 2nd batch, and I'd gone out in the garden to set them up. Luckily, only 2 people saw me lining up the lippies like it's the most important job in the world - the mali (gardener) & one man talking on his phone on a terrace next door. Maybe more people saw, but I was lost......
I arranged them color-wise, so you can compare between similar shades.
L-R: Impassioned, Party Parrot, All Fired Up, Ruby Woo, Riri Woo
MAC Impassioned (Amplified) - Swatches here MAC Party Parrot (Matte) (Limited Edition) - I wore it here MAC All Fired Up (Retro Matte) - See how it looks on me here Ruby Woo (Retro Matte) - Swatches & how it looks on me here MAC Riri Woo (Retro Matte) - Swatches here
I started seeing the white stuff on these Chambor Powder Matte Lipsticks last year in Newcastle, and I thought: 'Oh, it must be frost from the cold.', like an idiot. It was freezing cold and snowing too, so I thought these lipstick froze...err...or something. Then recently, when I was taking out all my red lippies, I saw the white stuff looked thicker! I googled and people are calling the whiteness on lipsticks 'Fungus'. Ick! >.<
Shades: Rubis Rouge & Orange Flambe. I wore Orange Flambe in my Modern CleopatraLookhere.
I got them in late 2012, so it hasn't been that long for them to go bad. This is my first experience, and I'm quite put off. I won't bash the brand, because it's not like they did it intentionally, but I will not be buying these lipsticks again, that's for sure.
What do you think this white stuff is, ladies? Fungus or something else? If there are any Science nerds here, please enlighten us! =D
Have you ever wondered if there'll ever be a matte lipstick that would stay on your lips like wall paint? A lipstick that won't smear your coffee cup? A lipstick your long hair cannot stick to? A lipstick that won't land on your fingertips when you do flying kisses? {The last one when you pretend you won an Oscar, and the kisses are flying to James Cameron. Of course you won Best Actress in Titanic!}
Well, that lipstick is what I expected Topshop Velvet Lips to be....
"Part of The Damned collection: a highly pigmented lip cream with a powdery soft, ultimate matte finish. Wear alone or with lip liner for a truly opaque, high colour finish." ~Topshop.
These could be Lime Crime Velvetines, but not sure coz I have not tried those.
Topshop Velvet Lips are available in 3 shades - the third being a black shades called Raven. Had I seen it when I first saw these, I probably would have picked it over the red.
Velveteen Ribbon ~ A true blue-based red. When layered, it looks darker on the edges and more vampy.
Plush ~ Purple with teeny tiny purpley shimmer mixed in. I failed to notice them the first few times I wore it, and when I did, I liked it a little bit more.
Halloween is in 3 weeks, so I thought I'd do a few dark & crazy looks. This one is inspired by that black sequined fan. I saw it among the Accessorize Halloween Collection one day, held it just like in the pic above, stared at myself in the store floor-length mirror, became indecisive, went home without it.....and life felt incomplete. I went back for it about a week later.
If a girl needs a black sparkly fan, she needs a black sparkly fan.
