As you all know, Rihanna launched her most-awaited beauty brand last year. FENTY, as in Robyn Rihanna Fenty. If you didn't know that, it's alright, I didn't know it either.
In Rachel Green's words, I thought she was just Rihanna.... you know, like Moses.
To be honest, the products didn't really appeal to me when I first saw them. Maybe I had just grown up a bit more, and wasn't going crazy over every new launch & getting sucked into every new hype, you know. But when I saw them at Sephora (Bangkok), I felt kind of obligated to get something, mainly because I love her music so much..... I felt I had to pick up at least 1 product. Well, one thing led to another... and this is what I ended up with!
Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, Shade 190 Neutral
The foundation shades are categorized into Cool, Neutral & Warm. I spent a long time at the Sephora trying to choose between shade 190 Neutral & 140 Warm. After having a proper look at the shade recommendations on their website, now I'm convinced I picked the right shade. 190 really is exactly like my skin
For reference, I'll list the other foundation shades I wear:
MAC Face & Body Foundation - C2
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation - 128 Warm Nude, Beige Chaud
Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation - 52 Medium (Which isn't perfect, a bit too light & cool-toned.)
*First Impression: More like 5-6th impression, really. Okay, umm.... I'm not blown away by it, in all honesty. Usually, it takes me only 1 day or the first 5 minutes to like or dislike a foundation, but with this I'm in limbo.
1). I swear, I don't see much of a difference before & after application. When I put on MAC Face & Body Foundation, I'm like "Okay, we are looking more healthy & awake....", but with this I'm like, "It's like nothing. Should I put on more so I can see the magic everybody's taking about???" One time, I actually layered the MAC one over this.
2). Maybe the shade is too similar to my skin tone & blends in too much. Then why even put it on a foundation, right?
3). It is really soft matte though, and it feels like second skin.
4). I find a damp sponge incompatible with this kind of finish. I prefer using a flat top kabuki brush or my fingers.
I'll layer Bamboo Match Stix over it, and hopefully I'll get the finish I'd be happy with. Let's see.
♥
Match Stix Matte Skinstick
Conceal, Correct & Contour. Longwear, light-as-air layering.
I got 2 shades:
Bamboo (Neutral) ~ Got this for concealing & to wear as a base.
Mocha (Cool) ~ Got this for contouring. I wouldn't say it's the perfect shade for my skin tone. I still prefer Benefit Hoola Bronzer.
(Not gonna lie, I got 2 because of the magnetic physical attraction. Otherwise, I'd have just gotten Bamboo.)
*First Impression: I have used these about twice, they blend really well even over already made-up/powdered face - meaning: I used the testers on my face when I was buying as well. True, light-as-air-layering.

Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored
One-stroke intensity, 12HR Matte wear. Unrivaled Precision Wand.
*First Impression: It's very comfortable & it really is a red that would suit most people. I find it a bit more runny than some other liquid lipsticks, which is great when you need a bit more time to apply it right before it completely dries up. Will wear it in a LOTD sometime.

Face & Body Kabuki Brush
This was the only thing that caught my eye when the brand launched! It just looked so cute & stubby, somewhat like a little pet piglet. It's angled and can be used to apply liquid & powder products. I've used it with both, and I love it.
Fenty Beauty Swatches
Swatches: Stunna Uncensored, 190 Neutral, Bamboo, Mocha
When I first saw that lip color I though it was a nail paint :P Fenty Beauty products look nice and minimal.
