LOTD Ft. Revlon Unapologetic Matte Balm + MAC Comparisons

Except for Rihanna's album & this lip crayon, I've almost never heard the word 'Unapologetic' being used. It's only vaguely been in my vocabulary before now. If somebody hurts my feelings and doesn't apologize, I wouldn't say, 'You are so unapologetic!' I'd probably yell, 'You egotistical maniac!!!' (....Get out of my face!) No, I've never had a chance to say those nice words. Yet. But I really wish a certain friend would do so to her "unapologetic" boyfriend, who has done every unacceptable/unforgivable thing (Yes, that too.) but somehow..... somehow.... he'd always make it seem like it's all her fault, and she would end up apologizing to him! Okay, in case you're wondering: he's not successful (hence, not rich), he's not funny or sensible, and he's not even pretty like this other Unapologetic.....
Unapologetic is probably the most popular shade from the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms. Firstly, I have to say that I'm not crazy about the formula and finish. It has a creamy matte finish, that I personally find difficult to apply neatly. Though smooth and velvety, it emphasizes dryness & forget about blotting and layering, because it will end up looking patchy. I wish it was a moderately hard matte, if you know what I mean. The shade, on the other hand, is gorgeous & "high-end-looking". It is very very similar to MAC Impassioned & Party Parrot.

MAC Impassioned (Amplified) ~ Previously swatched here

Revlon Matte Balm Unapologetic ~ I'd say it's just a little less pink than the other two. Closest to Party Parrot, I think.

MAC Party Parrot (Matte) ~ Since this was a Limited Edition lipstick & undupeable, Revlon Unapologetic is most likely the only drugstore alternative. Previously swatched here.

Planning A Colorful Kitchen

Let's just say if it's not pastel or colorful, it doesn't belong in my new kitchen =D

At first, I thought about making it all white & pastel, but it's so hard to find pastel kitchenware in India, so I decided bright and colorful is the way to go. These are just a few of the pots, pans, kettles & mugs that I've found and have with me me so far.

Finally got to take out my Katie Alice mint-colored mugs that I got in England.

I'm still hunting for more pink and colorful stuff- cutlery, storage containers, spice jars, tea set, etc, etc.

So will post pictures when it's complete! =)

Thank You for reading & y'all have a bright & colorful week!

Voting Day Makeup

Today (I posted late, so it's actually yesterday) was Election Day here in Delhi, so I'd gone to vote for the very first time, ever. I've always wanted to vote, but since I'm wasn't from Delhi, where I spent most of my adult life, I couldn't vote here. My voting card was in my hometown, and I was never there. Now that I'm a permanent resident of Delhi, I have a voting card here. With a photo where my face is elongated like a rugby ball, might I add. Before I ramble more, let's hop to the makeup part......
I kept my makeup quite natural-looking with no black liners. I'm always unsure with this kind of light eye makeup, coz I feel incomplete without a black kohl, but it actually suits my light eyes more than black-rimmed eyes (especially during the day & off camera), if I say so myself.

April Beauty Resolutions

Some people's resolution is to never let Yuvraj Singh bat in such an important match again.
Some people's resolution is to never vote for Congress again.

Mine is simply April Beauty Resolutions with an Apple on the side.

#1 Apply Bio Oil everyday ~ To prevent stretch marks. The ultimate test begins now, since I'm in my 2nd trimester. I've started using it religiously for the last 2 weeks. I hate the smell of Palmer's Cocoa Butter, so I'll be sticking to Bio Oil.

#2  Apply a Face Mask at least once a week ~ My skin has been acting out a lot these days, because of the weather & water change. Not just my face, but my legs and arms too. Right now, I'm using Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 Cleanser+Scrub+Mask, and I'm liking it a lot. Makes my face feel really clean, smooth & oil-free. But I'll soon stock up on natural/herbal masks, like Multani Mitti (fuller's earth), Sandalwood, etc.

#3 Use Hair Mask every time ~ When I don't use a hair mask, my hair feels drier, so I've decided to use one every time I wash it. I've been using TRESemmé Anti-Breakage Masque for months now, sometimes mixed with my conditioner to cut down shower time. It works well, makes my hair soft & sleek.

Look Of The Day: THE FIRST TIME.....

THE FIRST TIME I'm beauty blogging from our new home. If you've been wondering where I've been, I've been exhausted. If you read my other blog, you'll see what I mean. My hands feel like sandpaper now, after washing them too much. Which reminds me, I have to get a heavy-duty hand cream.

THE FIRST TIME I'm wearing a man's shirt. Men's T-shirts I wear all the time, but this is a first with a crisp shirt. I stole it from the man, and now it's hanging on a floral hanger in my closet, MINE! =D
THE FIRST TIME I'm wearing these makeup products:

Bourjois 1,2,3 Perfect CC Cream #32 Beige Claire ~ Too soon to tell if it'll rock my world, but I like the finish & light-medium coverage.

Bourjois Intense Extrait Eyeshadow #09 ~ Very impressed how soft and pigmented this is. I'm already in love with it, and I see myself wearing it a lot. 09 is a deep mocha brown, which looks a little taupe. I'd also apply it as a liner with a wet brush, like I do the other black shade #10 (swatched here) Because I have hooded lids, eyeshadows hide in the folds, unless I do this......

New Home

We moved into our new house a couple days back, and every minute since then has been about deciding where everything goes, and getting a lot of pending work done. While I've set up part of my dressing room, my wardrobe is still almost empty!

While I set up some my toys, Mr.CZ arranged some of his. Priorities.... haha!

If you're thinking all is perfect and it's like a honeymoon for us all over again, here's a reality check.......

Yup, we've yet to tackle all those boxes! =[

My summer clothes, shoes, rest of the makeup are all still in some of these boxes.

I have very little clothes with me right now, because when we left for the UK in 2012, I'd left all the summer clothes behind. So, these days, I have to manage with less than 5 sets of home and going-out clothes.

On the bright side, we found a maid who cleans properly, not one of those who tak-tak....foosh-foosh.....finish sweeping & mopping in 15 mins  =D

Thanks For Reading & will share the progress when most things are set up properly!

Revlon ColorStay ShadowLinks Eyeshadows

(I promise, this is the last Revlon post for a while! =D )

I think the concept of Revlon Colorstay ShadowLinks, where you can customize your own shades & link together single eyeshadows to create a trio, quad, or a palette is brilliant. I was very excited to create my own. A lot of shades that were launched weren't available in Lifestyle (which includes matte black, brown, greige, etc), so I just picked up 3 shades. that I liked best.

Bone #010: A matte ivory. I got this mainly to use as a brow bone e/s
Java #280: A shimmery bronze
Plum #110: Matte plum

Coral Minnie Mouse Pajamas

Out with the fleece pajamas, in with breathy and bright pajamas.

Also, for now, out with S size & in with M size =D

Both are from a brand called Strings. They are actually not a set, but sold separately.

Top ~ Rs.299
Pajama Pants ~ Rs.599.

Available at Lifestyle, India.

Just curious, what do you wear to bed? =)

Revlon Colorburst Matte + Lacquer Balms: My Picks, Swatches

I picked up 3 crayons from Revlon's newest launch. One Lacquer Balm & Two Matte Balms.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms ~ These have a matte finish. They are really pigmented & have a soft creamy texture. The crayon is soft, not hard. When layered, they look completely opaque.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Lacquer Balms ~ These have a glossy finish, which is a bit similar to the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains, except they are a little more creamy and the crayon is softer. They feel somewhat like MAC Lustre Finish.
*And yes, both of these also have that pepperminty scent like the Kissable Balm Stains. Both contains Shea, Coconut & Mango Butters.
Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm Coquette #110
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms Unapologetic #210 & Elusive #205

Revlon Colorburst Matte & Lacquer Balms Launched In India!

I would go to Boots & Superdrug uncountable times specially to check if these were launched while I was still in the UK around Nov-Jan, and I was always disappointed! Today, when I least expected it, I saw  them on the Revlon counter in Lifestyle, Great India Place. Oh, the joy! I think Baby CZ's head grew a lil' bigger in that moment =D
Both Matte & Lacquer Balms are priced at Rs.800 each.
8 shades of Matte Balms & 8 shades of Lacquer Balms were there

The FLOPS! Beauty & Online Stores

So that movie Queen seems to be a super hit, huh? Saw several FB statuses about it:

 "QUEEN! Loved it!"
 "Queen was awesome!!!"

I didn't know what it was about at first. My first guess was some epic-type movie about some English queen.....or a drag queen transformation movie. It was only until "Kangana rocked in Queen!" that I realized it's a Bollywood movie. Now I can't not watch it, but only until it comes out on DVD where there'll be English subtitles.

Okay, now we talk about the very opposite of Bollywood superhits.....

The most recent FLOPS in the beauty & internet world:

Sunsilk Radiant Shine Shampoo & Conditioner, Rs.56 each

I got the 80ml bottles of both to try out. I made sure to try out 3 other types of shampoos/conditioners to be 100%  sure this is the twosome that lathered my hair to dullsville. After every wash, it felt drier, but got greasy faster. Maybe the 5 oils in it (Argan, Jojoba, Camelia, Almond & Olive) cause too much buildup. No Radiant Shine, amigo!

L'Oreal Kajal Magique, Rs.245

From the first time I used it, I knew I didn't like it, but I wanted to be sure. So, I used it everyday for over a month. Then one day, I took a break from it, and I used my other trusted black kajals/kohls. I saw how much it fell short. It's not soft enough, it's not black enough, and it doesn't last on the waterline.

Avon Mega Effects Mascara, Rs.1020 (from UK)

I tried & I tried some more to love this, but the fancy brush exhausted me! I was doing all the work. From every angle - horizontal, vertical, upside down.... and then always having to clean up after it when it leaves untidy smudges my lids. I wouldn't have minded the effort needed had the results been outstanding, but both length & volume were unimpressive on my thin lashes. Note: It might work better on longer & thicker lashes.
(Photos here)

Healthkart.com

The worst online store I've ever shopped from so far. They will send a wrong product, you inform them, they'll tell you to click a photo of the wrong product, pack it properly, hand it over to their pick-up man, delay replacement because the wrong product they sent has to be checked by QC first (What if I'd used/tampered with a random product I didn't want?!), two weeks later they'll inform you the product you actually ordered is not in stock so they won't be able to send it- without an mention of a refund. And all this drama will go on for over 3 weeks. You sent a wrong product by mistake, that's fine. Just fix it ASAP & don't make the unforgivable mistake of making the customer run after you! *I think they wouldn't have refunded the money themselves if we hadn't called them up multiple times.

ASOS

It's not a flop online store, just flop International Shipping. I ordered a pair of shoes that costs around Rs.2000, and I received an email from ASOS saying I need to pay customs fee of around Rs.700. The standard duty fee on footwear in India is 10% (I'd even pay 20%.), but they're charging 35%! What I found odd was, I should have been contacted by our local customs office about the charges when the package had been inspected, but the email came from ASOS not long after I placed the order. Which probably means they're the ones charging, not customs. Simply put, it's their courier fee. Perhaps they should remove their "Free Shipping Worldwide" slogan. I was really depending on it for New Look shoes when I left UK, so it's painful to find out I can no longer order from it....well, unless I get desperate maybe. After several angry emails, they refunded my money.

Now all these are just my personal flops, and they might work better on/for you =D

So what are your Flops this month?
