Welcome to the Bridal Series 2011! I will be doing a few posts on bridal makeup products and such....and there might be a surprise at the end of the series *wink* Now now don't get any ideas in your head, I don't even know what it is myself haha.
I told you my childhood friend got married, right? I had to buy some makeup products for her last month, but since she is not a makeup junkie, she wanted to keep it simple with just the bare necessities.
About The Bride & Wedding:
So, here are all the products I got for her:
How did the products fare?
Most products worked fine on her, except the Colorbar Full Cover Concealer was 2 shades too dark coz she wasn't with me when I bought the stuff & she kept saying she's darker than me when we're almost the same skin tone =D. But the Colorbar Triple Act Compact did the concealing as well, so it was fine. Also, she picked another deeper red lipstick for the day. I was just happy the products that matter worked well on her, like the foundation, eyehadow quad & blush (Colorbar Peachy Rose), and she did look GORGEOUS!
Total Cost Of Products:
I will have to come back and write all the prices of the products, but I'm sure that the total cost is- Under Rs.5200 ($102.6)
Hope this post was helpful to some of you brides on a budget. In my opinion, "the lesser, the better" coz it's less confusing. 'Too many cooks.....' applies in bridal makeup too.
*If you are a bride-to-be and would like to request for a specific bridal post, feel free to email me or post a comment below. I can't do everything requested, but I will try my best to pick what is more important and... well, interesting ;)

This is a wonderful post Cynthia. It's useful not only to brides but also everyone in general. I have a wedding to attend in Dec & suddenly realised that I have mostly lip stuff & eye liners. I don't have any face makeup. So this is useful to me too.

hey...i am getting married in a couple of months. i have decided to do the bridal make up by myself as i dont like the "putty coverage" given by most of the salons. i was wondering wether you could help me on this..as in which products to go for and such..am slightly on the dusky side and want the product shade suggestions accordingly..thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteheya..am getting married in june and decided to do the bridal maske up for myself..i come on the dusky side slightly..i would be grateful if you could guide me through various products from the basics..thankyou!! :)
ReplyDeleteDear Cynthia, your blog post was just the thing i was searching for :). I'm getting married in couple of months and is quite concerned about the suitable make up brands and products to be purchased. I'm dusky (like the shade of a snicker bar :p) and wanna know what all will be appropriate for me. I dont wanna look overly made up, coz my skin tone have the tendency to do so. I'll be wearing off-white and golden attire. I'm also on budget, so wont be able to afford expensive brands. I'll be forever thankful to you if you can give your suggestions on this.
ReplyDeleteRdgs, an excited bride-to-be :D
Hi Cynthia this blog is awesome..Thanks to you.. I am getting married on Feb 1st 2013. Ours is a south indian 3 days marriage so more or less make has to be managed by me. I saw your suggestions for your friends marriage. It was good. I have a fair skin so can you suggest the stuffs i can have so that i can manage on my own. Please it will be helpful if you give suggestions.
ReplyDeleteRegards.
Hi..
ReplyDeleteI am looking some product for contouring. I am new at this technique. I read above that you bought "Maybelline Whitestay UV Compact in Fawn for contouring." Is it really right to use a darker shade of compact for contouring ?

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI am totally new to this make up world and your blog is very useful for a starter like me. I am getting married in mid-October and planning to do makeup my self as my wedding is in my village where i can't find any one to help.
I have a Wheatish skin tone which is not too dry nor too oily. My wedding sarees would be in musturd, green and white colors all with golden borders. Please suggest the make up shades for me.
Thanks in advance,
dee
