Look Of The Day: Birthday Girl, Pink Roses & Macarons (Updated)

Birthday Girl is not supposed to blog, but she realized she wants to celebrate with you all too. 

This is not my look for today, I've yet to wear my birthday suit. I did this makeup over a week back. Ya, that's how pale I am now. I will update this post with many more pics and list of all the products I used, because I have to  head out asap.

On my nails today ~ L'Oreal Le nail art stickers in 009 Poudre D'or. Maybe I didn't stick them right, but they bubble at the tips =|

I made my wish last night after 12 am, now it's time to make yours. Close your eyes and wish for something you want with all your heart. It will come true. (*_*)

P.S. It was a gloomy day, so Rimmel Wake Me Up, a foundation with shimmer, was a bad choice, because most of the photos came out too unnaturally bright. In some deleted pics I looked like a ghost, or The Joker....seriously.

My Vanity ~ Stage 1

I finally unpacked most of my beauty products last night. This is what it looks like right now. It's clutter-free, but not for long. Those drawers are still in a mess, coz I still have to figure out what goes where. That's a nice mirror, but it's hung too high! I can't see my face, I can only see my hand when I raise it (...and wave it like I just don't care!) But it's fine, cos there's a huge full-length wardrobe mirror on the other side of the room.

What's missing?

• A candle that matches the wallpaper.
• A lipstick rack. Right now, they're all stuffed in a mini travel bag.
• Flowers. Fake ones, of course. I don't know what kind, but ivory-colored.
• A lil' accessory for the mirror Can you guess? ;)
• A basket or tray to keep knick knacks. 
• Another makeup brush holder. 
• A small vintage clock.
• One more jewelry/necklace holder.

Basically, I want the theme to be "vintage". By that, I mean I want more golds & ivories, and maybe ditch the girly pinks...well, not all of them =D

Mr.CZ will freak when he sees this post. I know exactly what he'll say- "You want to buy more stuff?! You know we won't be able to pack them all when we leave, right?! We'll have to throw them away!"

He says 'throw them away' like it's going to scare me. I get mad, and I say, "I'll throw YOU away!"

But I know I should think twice before I accumulate more stuff. Even packing from Newcastle to here was a bit of a hassle. Sigh, I wish I could turn into a camel whenever we have to move.

Forever 21 Key Necklace And Bow Earrings

Today's my last day in my hometown. I decided to make a quick post while I get my room cleaned and before I go to a new shoe store everyone's been talking about ;)

I went to Forever 21 in Delhi last week, and after experiencing Primark, everything seemed too expensive for what they were over there. So I basically liked only these two pieces of shiny.

Lacy thing is a pink knit top with long lace sleeves, which I got impulsively and want to exchange, but I don't think I'll be able to go back to the store =\

Weekend Arm Candy And Shopping

Shopping ban is over! Hip, Hip, Hooray! You know what, I've had to live without a lot of things and people for months, and going shopping was the one thing that was filling the void. Giving up something like that for over a month was a sensible thing to do.... but never again! Well, at least while I'm away from homeland =)

Veronica Lodge Inspired Makeup Look

I'm sure you've known me forever, but I'll  introduce myself anyway. My name is Veronica Lodge. Daddy named me after Veronica Lake. Now MAC Cosmetics has named a makeup collection, Archies Girls, after me & my best friend Betty.

I love to shop. I love shoes. Ah, shoes! You can never have too many shoes! 

LOTD ~ Big Hair With Babyliss Volume Waves Tong

Do you have a dream hairstyle? One that you have always imagined yourself with, but have never been able to achieve it? Sometimes you're sooo close to it, then *BAM!* the stupid hairstylist trimmed it too much or burned part of it during rebonding; OR you ruined it yourself by doing something equally stupid- like, streaking with Fem Bleach or spontaneously giving yourself a "razor cut" with some puraana blunt scissors and you ended up with high-low hair (one side shorter than the other). And then it's only just a dream, again.

My dream hairstyle is a longer (on the sides), pouffier (at the roots), shinier, evenly colored (dark roots make them look flatter) version of what I have here. Dreamy, romantic, cascading waves.....like cashmere between his fingertips.....yeah yeah.

But a dream hairstyle is like everything else in life. If you want it, you have to make an effort and get it yourself!

So.... I got myself a curling iron. I've always wanted one! I had a hard time trying to decide between Babyliss Volume Waves Tong & TRESemme Salon Professional Volume Curls Tong . In the end, I went with my gut. By that, I mean I went with the more established hair styling tools brand.

Barrel Size- 38mm (1 and 1/2 half inch)

Plates- Nano Titanium Ceramic 

Heat Settings- 155°, 170°,185°, 200° C.

 

This was just a trial, and my 1st time using it. I will come back let you know if it makes me happy, how to use it, products etc, another time. But first impression was quite good, considering I didn't really make an effort. The curls started to flatten at night, but the waves & volume were still there the next day.

Tale Of The Fake Fur Coat & Owl Brooch

December, last year. That's when I first laid eyes on - and touched  caressed - it. The ivory fake fur coat at Primark. I didn't remember it had an owl brooch nestling on its fluffy collar. I wanted it, but I expected a price tag that's a lil' more impressive than £25 (Rs.2126), so I never purchased it. It wasn't on sale on Boxing Day either, but I remember looking at it longingly from an ascending escalator that day. Since then, I'd forgotten all about it.

Until last week.

These are all the jewelry I got on Boxing Day. If you're not familiar with this day, it falls on the 26th of December, and most stores in the UK (and a few other countries) put up major sales for some reason. Don't ask me why it's called 'Boxing Day'. I read about it on Wiki, but I don't remember... maybe I didn't even understand. 

Anyways! I'm very happy with my haul, especially Accessorize because I find it more expensive in the UK & I'd been waiting for the sale for months!

New Year's Eve Prep ~ Makeup & Outfit

I have no idea what to wear tonight. I have this H&M lace embroidered skirt, but I don't know what to wear with it. Damn this freezing weather! We are going to a masquerade party, so I feel like dressing up a little bit Moulin Rouge-ish. I'm planning to make a bustier out of a matching bra to wear with the skirt. But it could look really awful, and I'll end up wearing something else. I don't know.

Our Christmas Presents Unwrapped!

Time to open our Christmas presents! Not literally, but it sounds more fun. Let's pretend I also don't know what they are. This is basically all the gifts Mr.CZ & I gifted each other. Well, except for the make-up products that I got before Christmas & all the jewelry, some of which I got on Boxing Day (26th Dec) sales.

The snowman (which lights up), candy canes & green sequin ornament were all the christmassy decorations we got this year.

This was supposed to be up yesterday, but we were busy, and I was exhausted by evening. So I decided to just sit back and do nothing..... listen to  Last Christmas & All I Want For Christmas Is You....and wait for Christmas Eve!

I couldn't decide which lippie color I wanted to wear, so I wore 2. You know, I don't usually smile wide in my FOTD's because I always end up looking too enthu... like, too much teeth.... sometimes too goofy. But a Holiday/Christmas-themed look is an exception =D

One: Posing in that position (maybe 7 times to get it right) will make your thigh muscles very angry at you. Going down the stairs was a pain even after 2 days! >.<

Two: I ended up sitting in most of the pics because the camera kept cutting my head off.

Three: Please excuse the messy background. We always think about tidying it up, but it's always raining & wet. Sheesh, I didn't even notice that stick branch on the ground until I was editing these pics.

Primark Haul ~ Jewelry, Etc.

I hadn't bought any jewelry since August, and I just couldn't stop thinking about shiny things. One night I actually dreamt that I was wearing some kind of gold crown! So the other day I made it a point to ignore all the makeup shops and focus my attention on one target- jewelry. Ya, I'm thinking about NOT buying any makeup till next year- January. Let's see how that goes =)

I could only do Primark that day, although I was dying to check out H&M and Topshop as well. I hate that all shops close at 6-7 pm here =[
