Okay, I'll start with the fairness part (btw, I really think 'whitening' is less offensive than 'fairness'):
Does it make my skin lighter? Yes, a tad. I mean temporarily. However, it could look too white on darker skin tones, especially if you apply too much and don't blend it well. But yes, it does make my skin look more radiant & awake, especially in the morning.
Likes:
♥ Although this is meant for normal to dry skin, I find that it suits my oily skin- it is non-greasy, but it's also moisturizing.
♥ It has a smooth, satin feel, which is what I like most about it.
♥ It minimizes my pores
♥ Doesn't break me out.
♥ Pump bottle is nice and light....and hygienic.
♥ It smells tooo good! I want a body wash & a room freshner in this scent too.
♥ SPF 50 PA+++ has got to be good, right? I have to use SPF 30 & above because of my skin's tendency to get pigmented, so I guess it's very well protected with SPF 50.
♥ Reasonably priced.
Dislikes:
- It leaves a white cast behind, if not blended well. To avoid this, don't use more than 1 pump at once.
- I find this difficult to blend on dry skin. I applied it on my hubby- who has dry skin & a darker skin tone- and it was so hard to make the whiteness disappear! On top of that, some of it got stuck in his stubble...oh no! =D

This is somewhat like the Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunblock (I'm guessing it was inspired by it too), but this is more white & thicker (and cheaper!)
I am really liking this sunscreen. I have been using it everyday for the past 3-4 weeks. Even the women in my family unanimously think it's "so smooth & smells so good!" :)

ReplyDeleteCynthia, does this lotion sting your eyes when you sweat?
ReplyDeleteI use the Neutrogena one, and when i sweat it drips from my forehead into my eyes and stings ALOT! X-(
Anon- I haven't experienced that, but sweat alone also stings my eyes usually.
ReplyDelete♥xx♥
jeeya- No it's doesn't make my skin oily, but it is not matte either

Anonymous ~ Oh ya, I got that info from the Lakme website! It must be a mistake. Maybe 10 or 20 ml is Rs.250.
ReplyDeleteThanks, glad u liked it. I'm still working on the look atm. Hubby is not up for it right now :)
♥xx♥
Cynthia you need to convince the Lakme people to sell in the US too!!! Or convince my hubby I need an annual India trip so I can shop till I drop!!! =)
ReplyDeleteIt aint a typo thats how d product is priced...strange na!
ReplyDeleteEven I was zapped.
Bought this for my sister she is super prone to tanning.
No no Cynthia, its not a mistake. I asked the PR. They say that the pump bottle is more expensive. The difference of price is due to packadging. But, ultimately, I calculated, for the tuve you pay hardly two or three bucks per ml while for the pump bottle more than 12 bucks. :P
ReplyDeleteI calcualted by the price and quantity of the product. :D
Nivedita- Oh, thanks for the info! Wow you're good! :D
ReplyDeleteAdaa- Yes, very strange
♥xx♥
30ml is 350 and 50ml is 250????? Is that an typo????
ReplyDeleteI gotta say, I really like the packaging for this one. Looks so sleek and appropriately sunscreen-y, if you know what I mean. :)
