Nicki Minaj Inspired Makeup Look

Did you miss the OTT, crazy & fun make-up looks on here? I really missed doing them, and I'm aware they're the reason some people come here. I know, I know... even my Bollywood Babes series is hanging in limbo, just give me some time with that. Right now, I'm in the mood for spontaneity & quirk, maybe coz it's Halloween month! More make-up looks coming up.....very excited about one in particular (I just received some jewelry from Ebay, but I still need a few more items & bangs for my hair to complete the look.) No, two actually. I'm excited about 2 crazy OTT looks! =)
I didn't give this one much thought, and I think I should have polished the eyes a little. Oh-kay, enough babbling. Hope you like!

Leona Lewis Trouble Inspired Trial Make-up Look

"I told you never to get used to me...I stay awake when you fall asleep...I’m a whole lot of trouble....We’re in a whole lot of trouble...I told you you should never follow me...But here we are, and you’re in too deep..."
I am obsessed with Leona Lewis's newest song- Trouble. I love the video...and her makeup in the video. I tried to copy her look the other day, and this is how it looked. I managed to click only a few okay-ish pics before the battery died + the skies darkened. I decided to put them up, coz the look is flattering on both light & dark skin tones.

Products Used:
Face: Revlon Colorstay Foundation, Lakmé Absolute White Intense Concealer Stick Light to Medium, The Body Shop Loose Powder
Eyes: Maybelline On And On Bronze Color Tattoo (bronze), Inglot eyeshadow 417 (olive), Bourjois Intense Eyeshadow 10 (matte black), Inglot #30 shine (cream gold) on inner tear duct areas, Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal, Bourjois Volume Glamour Mascara.
Cheeks: Benefit Coralista & Hoola to contour under cheekbones.
Lips: Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel #06 Rose Tendre  & Lakmé Absolute White Intense Concealer Stick Light to Medium dabbed on top to give that pale peachy nude.

MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection Haul & Swatches

Went to MAC in Fenwick (a dept. store like Debenham's) to buy 1 lipstick & 1 blush from the newly-launched Marilyn Monroe Collection.
Selected 1 lipstick- Love Goddess, 1 blush- The Perfect Cheek, False Lashes.
Calculated. Damn this Great British Pound!
Reluctantly put away the False Lashes.
Paid for the other 2 products and left store..... feeling very uneasy.
Stopped about 4 steps away from the entrance.
Stood there for 10 minutes....thinking.... thinking.....staring, but not really looking, at the flowers in a florist shop nearby.
Time to go back..... to MAC, yes.
5 minutes later, paid for (False lashes) (Charmed, I'm Sure) Scarlet Ibis.
Left store..... smiling this time.
Ooh.... fuchsia pink & yellow carnations!

MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection

Just when I thought I had had enough of MAC's limited editions this year, BAM! They bring in Marilyn Monroe.
I like the packaging, although I personally think it couldn't have been.... even more attractive.
Launching in the UK first week of October. India- no idea, probably next year?
Can't. CAN'T. Wait.
I'm getting a lipstick for sure. Those lashes look fab too. And one of those blushes. And..... argh.... I have to watch How To Marry A Millionaire now!
Are you excited about this collection?

So ya, I did fall hard for the Eylure Katy Perry Lashes ever since they were launched.
All Eylure Katy Perry lashes are handmade, 100% natural and each style is reusable. Adhesive included in all.

L'Oreal L'Or Electric Collection For Cannes International Film Festival 2012

This year the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival is being held from 16th May to the 27th May 2012. 2012 is especially significant to us as L’Oreal Paris is celebrating a 15 year partnership with the Film Festival as its official Make Up artiste. For the last 15 years, many talented makeup artistes of the Brand have created glamorous looks for a wide range of celebrities that have walked the red carpet.
To celebrate this year's Festival, which has been dubbed “Cannes electric”, L’Oréal Paris will electrify the event with its new "L'Or" range of makeup, entitled "L’Or Electric". This collection has been specially created for the Cannes Film Festival, and will enable L'Oréal Paris' make-up artists to create the most daring and glamorous looks on the Croisette. Eyes, lips and nails will be full of bold colour. Celebrities will sport the Glam Team's inspired creations on the red carpet throughout the 12 days of the Festival.
This collection, which is all set to electrify the red carpet, has been inspired by the extravagance of the 80s: post-modernism, neon, Studio.54, day-glo, new wave and the beginnings of electronic music. Three Indian faces- Freida Pinto, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam A Kapoor, will sport this electrifying look on the red carpet.

Adele Inspired EOTD

"The scars of your love remind me of us... They keep me thinking that we almost had it all.......
.....You had my heart inside of your hand....But you played it to the beat."

How To:
  • After priming lids, apply a shimmery white or a beige shade close to your skin on your lids. I used Virgin from Urban Decay Naked Palette
  • Apply a light brown shadow on the crease using a pencil brush. Also apply some on your lower lash line. I used Buck & Naked from Urban Decay Naked Palette with Inglot 80 HP/S
  • Line your eyes with liquid or gel liner. Make it thick towards the outer corner. It's a thick version of the Cat Eyeliner. I used  Maybelline Hyper Sharp Liner
  • Curl lashes & apply 3-4 coats of mascara on top & bottom lashes.
  • Optional: Apply a nude pencil on the waterline. I did it with MAC Chromagraphic Pencil & then used a Q-tip to done down the color.
  • Optional: Put on false lashes that are longer at the outer corners, like Adele's here. I was lazy ;p
*The liner dried up on me before I could retouch & darken the liner =\

Sonam Kapoor For Shehla Khan's Spring Summer 2012 Collection

I ignore a lot of PR emails, coz this is not a PR blog. Some send me the most b-o-r-i-n-g, most irrelevant, things! I think they don't even know it's a beauty blog =D
But sometimes I find inspiration in some things I may not otherwise be interested in, like this. I really liked the photos of Sonam Kapoor here (particularly the 1st one up there) & I wanted to show you guys.

MAC Party Parrot Lipstick ~ Nothing Like It!

Does 'Party Parrot' actually mean something? I really don't know. The two words fit so well together- so puh-puh ["That girl is such a party  animal  parrot."]
MAC Party Parrot Lipstick from Iris Apfel Collection is a fabulous neon coral-ish pink with a matte finish. The unique shade is undeniably gorgeous, I adore it so much!
It's super pigmented! So hard to take off my lips. That swatch on my hand up there? It didn't come off completely even after 3 showers! It doesn't feel drying on my lips, coz it is a little creamy- you will notice from the lip swatches......

This prestigious award function will be held on 22nd March, 2012 at the ITC Grand Central, Mumbai.

Katy Perry Perfume Purr & An Awesome Love Package

I told you I ordered Katy Perry Purr with my UD naked 2 Palette from Amazon, but it got stick in US, because Aramex doesn't ship perfumes, right? If you missed that post, it's here.
Aramex asked if they should "discard" it (yeah, right!) or send it within the US. I didn't know what to do! Then I thought of May, my Twitter friend who sent me all those face masks last year (post here). I asked her if I could get it mailed to her & if she could then mail it to me, and she very kindly agreed. Of course we were worried that USPS will also cause trouble with perfumes, but it got through (just don't write it's perfume!) and I received it a couple days back. Woohoo!
About Katy Perry Purr: Purr by Katy Perry eau de parfum begins with the aroma of peach nectar and forbidden apple, evolves with a distinct floral bouquet of jasmine blossom, Bulgarian rose and vanilla orchid, and slowly reveals accents of creamy sandalwood and musk. Like the singer herself, Purr is playful yet sophisticated. Katy Perry transcends barriers with her music—so does her new fragrance. Price: About $29.00 for 50ml (amazon.com), but I paid some more for Aramex + US to India.
Though I'm not a fan of cats, this kitty IS cute. I just think the cat head/cap is not of good quality. Umm, it's more plasticky than glass-like), and the eyes aren't good, shiny crystals (very cheap-looking). However, it smells fantastic! I think it' the first time I'm more impressed with the smell rather than the bottle. I guess it smells like peach & apple....and jasmine. Yeah, I definitely smell those. There's green bamboo in it too, though I have never smelled a green bamboo. It's more of a sweet scent, and it's a tad stronger than my other floral favorite- Marc Jacobs Daisy. BUT the rest of the bottle is all cute, especially the heart collar with Purr embossed on it. For 1450 rupees ($29), I think it's worth it.

Kareena Kapoor Eye Makeup : Bollywood Babes Make-up Series Preview

Welcome to Bollywood Babes Makeup Series. I'll be doing some looks inspired by some of the most popular Bollywood actresses.

Kareena Kapoor's "soft smudged eye liner look" is the most requested celeb makeup. I don't really know which look exactly, so I just picked a photo for inspiration & also because she wears this particular look a lot.

She & I have very different eye shapes, hence the deep lid-making with an eyeshadow brush =D

Tutorial for this look is coming soon! I have to edit & put the pics together.

Bollywood Babes to come:
Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Vidya Balan.....and who else? Who wears good make-up these days?

Katy Perry's Outfit At MTV VMAs 2011

Bye bye, clutch. Hello, umbrella!

I think the whole ensemble is cute and quirky. I personally would wear the shoes and the umbrella, but not the dress- I just wish it was made differently.

What do you all think? Yay or Nay?
