Beauty Addict And Her Stash To Pack | OOTD

Leaving UK in less than 2 weeks now, so that means these are crazy packing times! Last night, I was home alone. Mr.CZ had gone to Newcastle and he'll be back till later this evening. I layed almost all my makeup and beauty products on the bed in our guest bedroom. This bed just has a sheet, and we didn't get any pillows and whatnot for it because, you know, no point. These are most of my beauty products (save for some skin & hair products I keep in the bathrooms) that I'm packing to take to India.
I decided to throw myself into the MESS, because it's always been my dream to sleep on/next to a pile of makeup products..hehe. Btw, I kept my left knee bent in most pics, coz I was trying to hide a a big (healing) bruise. I fell down on the bridge a couple weeks ago. Always been a quiet bridge, but that day, a couple was walking towards us, and they saw me fall. Because that's how life is - you never fall without an audience.

Perfumes, some makeup, Jewelry Stands. Butterfly is by TU from Sainsbury's.  The heart one is from New Look, I got it for 50% off recently. Gold glitter clutch is a phone case from Primark. real Techniques Blush Brush (don't know why it's here)

Things I'm sending by courier/mail:

This is a tricky situation, because I can't send liquid products like foundations, nail polishes & perfumes, which are the heavy ones. I don't want to send most of my palettes and blushers, coz I'm afraid they'll break. So that leaves me with lipsticks, brushes, pencils, and other stuff I don't care so much about.

Things I have to - in the husband's words - "throw away":

- Most Hair & Bath Products- Shampoos, Conditioners, Masques, Shower gels, Scrubs. I haven't bought anymore recently, so they will probably be almost finished or halfway gone by the time.
- Very Old products - This includes old foundations & skin care products.
- Products I don't like.

Boxes/Packaging

The cute and limited edition ones, I have flattened out and will go with the courier (Mr.CZ's idea). The rest, chucked.

Nail Polishes:

Right now, I have put them all in one plastic bag.

Lipsticks:

I think they'll stay with me. I'll probably try to get a bigger makeup bag that could accommodate them all.

Outfit:  Forever New Skirt | Top I'd never worn before from hometown. It's a woolen sweater with georgette/chiffon bishop sleeves pinned with bow pins at the wrists. I lost one bow pin. It came with a matching muffler-scarf thing. | New Look Shoes. I never take shoes to bed. These are brand new and have never been worn outside =D | Topshop Gold Belt. | Forever 21 Key Necklace | Accessorize Gold Hoop Earrings.
I slept at around 6 am. I did something else around 4 am after sorting all this (you'll know what!) I have removed most of the stuff from the bed, because it's Mr.CZ's "dressing" bed. Now I wait for him to help me really pack them up. He's an expert in these type of things.

If you have any special tips on compact-packing breakable things, like nail polishes, please share them!
Okies....Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Oh, and I also watched Clueless again last night. How ironic! =) Tonight, we're watching Breaking The Girls & We Are What We Are...bheryy bheryy excited about doing nothing but pig out in front of the tv.

  1. OMG-if I had to look at such huge stash while packing-my instant reaction would have been to take a nap :D :D :D. However, two more hideous tasks ar awaiting you-the unpacking and re-organizing :D

  3. For breakable glass bottles seal them in individual small ziplocks, wrap with tape and then cover with bubble paper and tape it. For shampoo bottle and such wrap some tape on the cap especially where the top is meeting the bottle. This prevents the product from leaking.

Best idea.....get a shipping container or atleast a part of it...you can even get your furniture that way and pack all the liquids and breakables in it. You can get a whole lot of your stuff :) Though the sensible thing to do would be sell them off. But since when us beauty addicts did anything "sensible". So mainstream....so 2002 ;)

    1. Thanks for the tips Shikha! We don't have so much stuff for a container, so we went with freight, And yes, we have a different idea of sensible :D

  4. aww.. i fainted at that stash of urs! :D

take thick carton boxes n base them with some bubble wrap. Place all your nail paint bottles then run across the bubble wrap in between rows of these bottles.. Top it again with a flat sheet of bubble wrap and stick it with a tape to the sides of the box... this shud keep them safe from clanking & breaking :)

  8. hehe....I would love to sleep with a heap of makeup lying around me & 'throwing away' even when it is expired is sometimes painful; ask a fellow makeup addict that! Lucky you.......Mr CZ can pack :P

  9. Wow ! what a collection!! At a loss for words!
Bubblewrap is the best solution for your problem. Get tons of bubblewrap, arrange your stuff in layers with bubblewrap between them. A large part of the collection will be safe. Perfume bottles are liitle more tricky though. Got no idea for that :( ..

I read all of them & I try my best to reply to each & every one of them [check back in 2-3 days =D] but most times it's physically impossible! Either way, I love to hear from you & really appreciate you taking the time out to share your thoughts <3
