On the HOT SEAT today is Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo Bad To The Bronze. These MAC Paintpot dupes have been launched in India.... *claps claps & whistles* .... Haven't we all been waiting to pounce on them?
This shade is actually called On & On Bronze in the UK, Bad To The Bronze in US & India. Why this is so baffles me! One make-up company can't be a team? Since they confuse & annoy us, I will annoy them too and say they are both not good names. I'm actually in a very good mood today =)
I decided to go with the name in India, coz this is an Indian beauty blog after all.
What it is: A gel-cream eyeshadow that claims to last for 24 hours without creasing, smudging or fading.
Bad To The Bronze/On And On Bronze shade: It is a metallic cool bronze color, with a hint of taupe.
On & On Bronze/Bad To The Bronze is smooth, buttery & blends very easily and evenly with fingers. It lasts the whole day without creasing on me. I'd test it for 24 hours, but it's not New Year's Eve, yet. Who wears makeup for 24 hours on regular days?
The color looks gorgeous alone and I have been wearing it almost everyday for over a week with just a kohl pencil & mascara. It can be layered/applied thickly for more opacity.
Comparing Maybelline Color Tattoo & MAC Paintpot below:
Maybelline Bad To The Bronze Vs MAC Constructivist
Maybelline Color Tattoo Vs MAC Paintpot
- Maybelline Color Tattoo is a tad more creamy & softer.
- MAC Paintpots dry faster than Maybelline Color Tattoo.
- Maybelline Color Tattoo's pot is slightly lighter in weight than MAC Paintpot's.
- With soap & water, MAC paintpot washed more easily than Maybelline Color Tattoo.
- MAC Paintpots cost Rs.1100. Maybelline Color Tattoos Rs.350. You do the math.
I'd say Maybelline Color Tattoos are definitely comparable to MAC Paintpots, and some may like Tattoos better than some Paintpots. [Hint Hint: Moi!] If you're into neutral eyeshadow shades, On & On Bronze/Bad To The Bronze is one shade to own from the range, ladies. Do check it out!
Maybelline Color Tattoo Price ~ Rs.350 (£4.99 = Rs.420 in UK)
Available in 9 shades in India. I want Edgy Emerald so badly, but it's not available here in UK =(. Might....might....get Tough As Taupe/Permanent Taupe (Grr....) next.
My Rating ~ ♥♥♥♥♥ 5/5

Happy for you Sukanya! *happy dance* :) At first, yes MNY gel liner was better, but it dried & became hard quicker than MAC Fluidlines =\

I have the same shade. It's such a perfect everyday color!
ReplyDeletelovely colors, I have similar shade in UD
ReplyDeletei heard about this one before..still not sure if i should buy it =)
ReplyDeleteI have this bronze one & the pomegranate one... they are both lovely shades but start fading on my oily lids in 3-4 hrs. I have to use a primer with these to get good wear time :) But I still love them :)
ReplyDeleteThe Pomegranate one looks pretty too! Yes, better wear a primer if u have oily lids...I'd have to do that in Delhi where it's so hot, I think, here my skin is quite dry.

Have that very same maybelline colour tattoo, and totally love it!! Definitely a great purchase!!
ReplyDeleteI got Bold Gold, Bad to the Bronze and Pomegranate Punk. I love the second one. Pomegranate Punk somehow does not show up too well on my eyes. I am envious however, because the Taupe wala did not get released here. However, the emerald one did, so this this citrusy orange shade which I love.
ReplyDeleteBold Gold and Pomegranate Punk are so pretty. The taupe one looks quite dull on its own, that's why I did not get it the 1st time.

I love this stuff, I am definitely getting Bad to the Bronze, Tough as Taupe, Pomegranate Punk and Painted Purple:) I wish they'd include some of the limited editions colors in the permanent range.
ReplyDeleteI wish that too Benish...I like Painted Purple too!

I am getting the bronze :)
ReplyDeleteI have a question. I was thinking of getting meself the MAC painterly pot or MAC Bare study to use as a base for the eye shadows.
ReplyDeleteIs there a dupe for that in this Maybelline range? Do you think they'll work as a good base?
Love your blog BTW. :)
Hey, thanks! :) Nope, there's no shade like that in the Maybelline range. I don't know about other colors, but this one works as a good base for other eyeshadows, yes.

There is a color tattoo in the fall line if you're in America called Barely Beige which is similar to Bare Study but it is limited edition unless it's really popular and they decide to make it a perminant product.
Deletehi CZ! I've heard there is a tab bit difference in the US and UK shades..if u search u'll get a couple of comparisons on some blogs. thats y some names r different. :-/
ReplyDeleteBut yeah I love love love these!! I got gold, punk and bronze in this range already :D
Really?! I read they're the same! See, this is what I was talking about! So confusing! =[

I've been wearing this exact shade every day since I got it a few weeks ago. It's a perfect neutral base by itself or with a bit of matte dark brown shadow for contouring - brightens up the eyes with some mild shimmer but isn't too overwhelmingly sparkly! I really like it. :)
ReplyDeleteExactly...love it :)

i bought pomegranate punk. its lovely!
ReplyDeleteNever thot of this but now your comparison tempts me..
ReplyDeleteI can't stand how everyone has one but me!! I'd love at least one to use a base, especially one of the browns! Great swatch and review! :)
ReplyDeleteNow available online on cosmetix.in for just RS 329/-
ReplyDeleteI have a question, does it comes with a brush in India??
