Just letting you know that we reached Newcastle safely. It's been crazy since we reached on the 11th- shopping for household necessities & walking A LOT (phew!) It gets really cold in the evenings, but I'm glad there's sun in the mornings. We are really happy with the house, it's cozy & clean, but I get scared to go upstairs or downstairs alone at night. The neighborhood is really quiet. I rarely see people around, but I see one black & white cat with green eyes, a lot. Yesterday, it perched on the fence below and just stared at me through the kitchen window! Creepy, especially since I'm not a cat person.
That's the backyard of our house. I can't wait to mow that lawn. Yes, we have to maintain it too. See that wooden door on the left? That's the garden shed. And no, I have never mowed a lawn in my life hehehe...!
12th Sept '12: Mr.CZ's birthday night. I got this Jane Norman Coral Sequin Lace Peplum dress that same day. I didn't take my nude pumps, so I had to make do with a black pair that night. I love the fit of it a lot! Please excuse the bad lighting. I will do a OOTD with it properly later. For now, you can view it in the website here
Awkward Bus Stop Posing. Those are my only comfy walking boots, so I have to get another pair soon. I'm thinking black knee length, 2" wedge heels.
Huge Sainsbury's Haul: This is the 2nd haul. We had bought bedroom, bathroom & some food items the day we reached.
- Celcus 32" LCD TV: We decided to buy a cheap tv & also get a blu-ray player, instead of buying a more expensive known brand tv. You know what I mean?
- Faux Silk Lamp for the bedroom, towels, kettle, pans, Bed sheets, etc, etc.....
.... and most importantly....
=)
First Beauty Haul: Marc Jacobs Perfume Dot (Too cute for words! I will review it soon.), Sainsbury's Lime & Cranberry Body Washes, Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo, VO5 Give Me Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner, Vaseline Cocoa Radiant Body Oil (love!), Boots Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover (not nice!).
Though I have been to Boots, I haven't hauled anything yet. I thought, make-up stuff need lots of thinking & calculating time.
Below is my last haul from New Delhi.....
All good shtuff in those bags! Normal blogging - lots & lots of pending reviews, and new products to talk about - will commence from tomorrow. My biological clock is still on Indian time, so.... early to bed & early to rise, and publishing before 5:00 PM IST.
You know, I rarely speak in Hindi in India, but here, I have to. My favorite words are: "Sabse sasta" (The cheapest). I chant those words when we're shopping so much that Mr.CZ is like, "I'm so tired of hearing those words out of you" =D [Boy, I need to get used to the prices here!]

LOL I was like that when I first came to US, I used to convert everything to Indian currency and compare the prizes before buying it but I got used to it now. Though some things might be a little costlier compared to Indian prices, they are the worth the money. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHehe...yes, same here! I hope I get used to it soon, coz I'm starting to dislike shopping :D

Beautiful Cynthia! You will be working at New Castle or be a home maker and full time blogger? You do cooking by yourself? How's the brands priced in UK? My one friend told that it's priced higher than that in India, whereas my husband who had gone to US couple of years back told cosmetics are really cheap in US. How do you feel?
ReplyDeleteYes Nisha, cosmetics are more expensive here than in the US & India. I am planning to work here after I've gotten around...and yes, I cook by myself :)
