Lakme Nine To Five Kohl Ultimate Review

Q:  What is soft & very black like a kajal, but:
  • is easier to use precisely,
  • looks like eyeshadow when smudged,
  • is waterproof,
  • never gives raccoon eyes?

A:   "Lakme Kohl Ultimate", baby!

About Lakme Kohl Ultimate:
The Kohl Ultimate is a kohl, smudger and sharpener all in one stick. You can create the smoky look with ease by using the smudge tip to smudge the kohl line outwards!

Claims:
-  3-in-1 smooth kohl stick with smudger and sharpener
-  Moisturizing ceramides will smooth and soften the eye skin (Wth does that even mean? lol)
-  Smudge-proof and water-resistant
-  Ensures 8 hours of great looking eyes
-  Dermatologist approved

I heart Kohl Ultimate! It's does what it claims, I like the way it's packaged (very classy....and fun, like a toy), it is so soft & gentle on my eyes, it lasts all day- though you may need to reapply on the waterline.

Pro #1 ~ Somehow, when I wear this, my sensitive eyes, which are prone to redness, don't get red so easily. Maybe the Moisturising Ceramides prevent my eyes from drying.

Con #1 ~ The sharpener is quite tight and doesn't sharpen the pencil very neatly (refer to pic above), thought it didn't break the tip or anything like that.

About the smudge tip: It is a cool addition. It's made of rubber and has it's very own transparent cap. How it's shaped was well thought of, because I can hold it at any angle and it'll never feel uncomfortable or awkward while smudging.

Lakme Kohl Ultimate Swatch

Smudges best before kohl dries, otherwise the rubber smudger will make it flaky, resulting in fallouts.

It is waterproof

Lakme Kohl Ultimate applied & smudge. No other product except mascara

Price ~ Rs.650. I initially thought it's quite pricey for Lakme, but then after using it, I think MAC wouldn't price a pencil like this less than 900 bucks. We need to support our own :)

*Rs.620 from Urban Touch (Just info. I have never shopped from the site.)

Rating ~ ♥♥♥♥4.5/5.

One more thing I like about this pencil: You see the symbol "8" on it? It's like an infinity symbol. One of my favorite tv shows at the moment is 'reven8e' (REVENGE), and the main character has the symbol tattooed on her wrist. No relation, just weird coincidence ;)

Have you tried Lakme Kohl Ultimate?

true, why spend on foreign brands if we get the same quality here?

  4. nice that you found a great product and it wasn't expensive. i tried many pencil liners from different brands (not high end) and was dissapointed with them. so i decided to buy something more pricy like chanel's stylo yeux waterproof eyeliner and i love it. best one ever. give it a go if you haven't tried it...

  14. I'm not terribly impressed. I've yet to run into a smudger that delivers good results.

  15. So how well does it wear? And does it give "shadows"when you remove it? You know how some kajals sort of get smudged into the skin and don't come off leaving a fain dark circle? Ugh. Which is why I'm wary of waterproof kajals.

  16. thepurplespirit- It stays for hours...even after a nap. I use Cleansing Oil n it removes it pretty well. Any oil-based makeup remover will do

  32. Hi Cynthia, this is great info! Since, it is waterproof and I'm nit-wit w.r.t to make up, how does one remove waterproof make-up?! Would love it if you give tips on this as one of your posts, cos, you post it the best! :-)

  34. Urbantouch.com is a nice website. Have shopped more than 7-8 times now. Products come in smart black box which is very useful for storing anything you like. I personally keep all my makeup in these boxes in drawers. So I dont need drawer dividers for organizing.

I ♥ finding little notes in my Vanity Case, so do drop one. I read all of them & I try my best to reply to each & every one of them [check back in 2-3 days =D] but most times it's physically impossible! Either way, I love to hear from you & really appreciate you taking the time out to share your thoughts <3

Thank you for reading! :)
