Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-ageing Serum ~ Review

Been using the Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-ageing Serum for a while now and it's time for the final verdict
My skin type ~ Combination/Oily.

Pros:

  • Smells great! (It smells like the Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-ageing Cream)
  • Moisturizes my skin enough so I don't need to use another moisturizer on top of it.
  • Acts as a makeup primer too
  • Fills up my fine lines
  • Not greasy/oily
  • Minimizes my pores (but not totally)
  • Makes my skin feel soft and supple
Cons:

  • Caused some breakouts when I used more than 3 pumps **
  • Umm...I think that's it.
  • No, wait. It is overpriced in my humble opinion. Rs.700 for 50 ml. I think for that price they should have at least made the packaging prettier.
** It smelled and felt so good that during the first few days, I got greedy and couldn't stop piling it on my face, which I think caused some tiny white zits here and there. Now, I've decided to refrain from committing one of the seven deadly sins at least when it comes to this serum =D
Now,I use only 2 pumps of it once or twice a day.

Would I buy it again? Maybe laaa..ter on. I wouldn't visit one country 2 times in a row, so I feel the same about anti-ageing products =)

  2. Interesting how using more caused you some breakouts. At least the pros outweigh the cons :)

  3. HAHA love the last line. I guess that's why I don't buy so many products twice in a row, unless its just too fundamental.

  13. Ha ha! I love that analogy about visiting a country twice in a row. :D The market is so saturated with anti-ageing products, so we are indeed spoilt for choice. But, psst, why do you need an anti-ageing serum anyway??! You're way too young for that! :D

  15. Silent reader ahoy! decided to post here after a long while of just reading :)
Ive been using this serum for a while and though I dont have anything to compare it to, I feel it has some ingredients that are alcohol group based, which lead to a cooling sensation after application, but it left my skin feeling dry too.

P.S. I agree with everything you said cynthia, and it is over-priced for 50 ml.

  16. I have a query. A few actually!
I am 20, and have slightly sensitive skin. Going for the Olay 7-in-1 range for the 1st time. My skin is irritated by all the night creams I have tried so far. Lacto calamine works for me though.
I was wondering if I can use Lactocalamine over the Olay 7-in-1 serum at night. Or do you suggest the Serum or Lactocalamine individually for skin repair at night? I don't like Lactocalamine during day time. It makes me sweaty. I use sunscreen only (no moisturiser) for day. Or simply serum.
I searched for my query on the net, but found no such articles. I hope you could help.
    Thank you.

I ♥ finding little notes in my Vanity Case, so do drop one. I read all of them & I try my best to reply to each & every one of them [check back in 2-3 days =D] but most times it's physically impossible! Either way, I love to hear from you & really appreciate you taking the time out to share your thoughts <3

Thank you for reading! :)
