Lakmé 9 to 5 Lip Color Blush Work ~ Not Just A Coral Lipstick

Lakmé brought 3 of my favorite things together with this lipstick:
1. Coral ~ The color.
2. Rose Gold. The Packaging.
3. ......................
Lakme Nine to Five brings you a range of shades that sit on your lips all day long. Enriched with Vitamin E; it conditions your lips & softens them with wheat germ oil. So, perk those soft, smooth lips with a touch of matte.
How To Apply:
Step 1: Stretch the lips and start at the center, putting on the lipstick to the corners.
Step 2: Blot the lipstick with a tissue. Make sure the lipstick has not smudged over the line of your lips.
Lakmé Blush Work MP10
Blush Work is a coral color with gold shimmer. It is mildly scented, somewhat citrusy - more or less the same as Lakmé Absolute White Intense Skin Cover.
It applies silkily, almost like a silicone primer. Then it dries to a matte finish, but not the kind you can lock your lips because your lips will end up looking patchy and drier than your bare lips. It is long-lasting, but I'd wipe it all off before re-applying, because it looks messy when layered. Oh, my! Let me look at that color again. BUT the gold shimmer doesn't belong is not wanted here. It's a deal breaker for me, and I'm sure most women wouldn't like to keep licking glitter from 9 to 5 o'clock.
However, there's a silver golden lining. You could skip using it on your lips, and use it as a......
3. Blush ~ Hello, coral blush with golden shimmer! If you are into blushes like NARS Orgasm, you might want to try adorning your cheeks with this. I think it would really complement Indian formal/bridal looks, especially if you're wearing gold stuff. I dot the bullet on my cheeks and blend with fingers. It blends nicely and stays put because of the matte finish. I still see the shimmers twinkling, but I don't mind them on my cheeks.
In a nutshell: Blush Work works better on cheeks than on lips. Wishing the golden shimmery bits would disappear (go away!)
I wonder if 'Blush Work' is short form for 'Will work as a blush' =D

Price ~ Rs.400 from MedPlusBeauty.
My Rating ~ ♥♥♥♥♥  3.5/5.

{Dear Lakmé, please make this shade without the gold shimmer. Lip+cheek color. Super Hit it will be!}

What do you all think? Do you like lipsticks with shimmer?

  15. I wouldn't mind the golden shimmers. But I really don't like wearing a long lasting lipstick, because more often than not they darken the lips over time. I prefer tinted lip balms for normal working days.

  16. I have a different shade from this range but have exactly the same feelings about it, I loved the shade when I got it but the patchy effect and glittery bits just saddened me - what did make it work a bit on the lips though was use of a colored lip balm on top of it - I'm yet to review mine on my blog but will share it soon!
