Tale Of The Fake Fur Coat & Owl Brooch

December, last year. That's when I first laid eyes on - and touched  caressed - it. The ivory fake fur coat at Primark. I didn't remember it had an owl brooch nestling on its fluffy collar. I wanted it, but I expected a price tag that's a lil' more impressive than £25 (Rs.2126), so I never purchased it. It wasn't on sale on Boxing Day either, but I remember looking at it longingly from an ascending escalator that day. Since then, I'd forgotten all about it.
Until last week.
Walking aimlessly in Primark, my eyes landed on 2 gorgeousness hanging about 10 footsteps away from me. Déjà vu. An Asian lady was obstructing the view. She was standing in front of them & typing furiously on her phone. I walked up & stood on her left. I extended my right arm to touch one of them. Asian lady suddenly alert, launched her paws towards both the fur coats, took them in one quick swift motion, and hung them on the next rack further away from my hungry paw. At first I was slightly offended. My first thought was, she couldn't decide between 2 sizes, so she's holding on to both. Hey, lady! You don't want to play that game with me...I will snatch them and.... ohhh!
Me: "Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't realize they're yours!" *laughing a little awkwardly*
Asian lady: "Yes." *blandly* (Zero sense of humor, but more uncomfortable.)
Me: "I'm sorry. I thought....Where did you get them from?"
She pointed "From there." THANK YOU!
I almost ran towards them. There were quite a few of them on the rack, but there was only one in a size 6! And there's no owl brooch on it! I've never liked owl accessories but....I want it....I want it! Amma!
Ooh....idea! Take an owl from the bigger sizes! Okay, this one has a missing eye.... this one has some missing crystals....YES! This one is perfect. Okay, look around to make sure nobody's looking. They shouldn't object, but still....we want the owl by hook or by crook....especially by crook.
How much? £25  £10 (Rs.850). 850 rupeeeees! One of the best things I ever bought.

Hope you like it as much as I do. OOTD coming soon =)

Btw, I start rolling other people's carts in supermarkets, thinking they're ours. It leaves the cart owners & Mr.CZ completely baffled. I'd be lost in my own little world, staring at vegetables I'd never seen in my life, rolling the stranger's cart... and they'd be staring at me wondering WTH.

  10. Your stories behind your purchases are always so hilarious! Brits don't have a sense of humour I've realised. Not so much when they are shopping in Primarni lol (or ever!). Love the jacket btw. Will look beautiful on you I'm sure :) This reminds me I need to go Primark soon.

  21. OMFG. 850 bucks? The word "steal" would be an understatement! Can't get any good classy faux fur coats here in India. Even if I get one, I doubt I'd actually buy it because winters here in Bangalore are not cold at all! :( I don't know whether to be happy or sad about it.
I envy all the cheap shopping you're able to do there. If I had a close friend abroad in such a place, I'd be getting them to get me stuff all the time! :D

I ♥ finding little notes in my Vanity Case, so do drop one. I read all of them & I try my best to reply to each & every one of them [check back in 2-3 days =D] but most times it's physically impossible! Either way, I love to hear from you & really appreciate you taking the time out to share your thoughts <3

Thank you for reading! :)
