Ideal Everyday Handbag & The Most Comfortable High Heel Shoes
So I found my ideal black everyday handbag. Finally! You can imagine my face when I saw IT. I also wanted to show you the last pair of shoes I hauled from my hometown. I mentioned the haul here. You have seen the mustard pair here
Handbag: Principles by Ben De Lisi. It's called a 'Black Diamond Quilted Shoulder Bag' & has with large metal bow applique. Got it from Debenhams. Oh my bows, LOVE LOVE LOVE! =)
Shoes: From a Tibetan market in my hometown- Shillong. The heels are very high! Is that 6 inches? I don't have a measuring tape. I got them in size 35, which is usually still too big for me, but these fit perfectly! I guess the straps prevent my feet from slipping out. That why they're the most comfortable high high heels I've ever worn.
You'll probably want to slap me....but....err....I bought a black nail polish especially to paint the orange edges. Because I can't find plain black shoes that fit and I badly need a pair for a lot of outfits!
Have you tried painting shoes with nail polish? I have painted an orange pair with violet nail polish before. Turned out not so great, coz I painted the whole shoe with that tiny little brush and the polish looked very streaky. This is different though, it's just the orange parts. Should I? Yes, I'm scared =D

I've painted with fabric paint and a top coat of nail varnish - turned out great :) I love the shoes, they're so pretty and chic !
ReplyDeleteOoh...I must get some fabric paint then :)

If you use nail polish to paint the shoes, it might start to flake after a while and you'll get tiny pieces of orange showing through :(
ReplyDeleteYa, that will happen...I won't paint these anymore

I have tried cleaning shoes with nail polish remover and that didn't turn out to be good...the whole damn colour on the leather came off. Oh and we coloured those Woodland shoes black with black shoe polish, it ended up looking fine but I don't think it will stay put on yours. The important question is, are you willing to risk those shoes?
ReplyDeleteOh thanks for letting me know, coz I was thinking I'll use a nail polish remover if I don't like it! Gosh. Nah, I'll leave these alone :)

LOVE the shoes...and the red leopard print sole is so chic!!! Pls don't paint and spoil them, buy another black pair, these are sooooo nice!
ReplyDeleteYa, I'll keep these as they are Dollie :)

Love the shoes. I can only wear high heels if they have straps. You might not want to paint them with the nailpolish though, won't the polish come off? Acrylic paint mixed with clear glue(something like feviquick) would be a better idea. Inquire in craft stores, they'd be able to help you.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of the nail paint as a temporary thing, but now I won't do it anymore. Yes, I will check out other paints for future use.

Both are such an awesome statement for everyday. But puh-lease don't paint the shoes with black, orange adds to the wow factor.
ReplyDeleteHehe...I know.... I won't do it.
Delete♥xx♥
Please *NO*. Don't ruin them. :D I feel the 'orange' adds to them and make them look even prettier !! *.*
ReplyDeleteThat's true! I've decided not to paint them :)

unfortunately acrylic paint will peel right off patent leather ...
ReplyDeletenaIL POLISH WILL CRACK ...
don't do it ..
buy a schnazzy orange top instead ....
if it ain't broke , don't fix it .....
You're right. I'll go shopping instead :)

very pretty heels :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shikha! :)

Try using a black permanent marker on the trim. Use a stippling motion to dab the color on otherwise it wipes off... Not sure if it will work on this patent leather.. Do a spot test first.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip Brenda. But I've decided to leave these as they are. Will keep it in mind for other shoes :D

Oh man, that handbag is TO DIE FOR. So gorgeous! I want one just like it, haha, but doubt I could get it here in the US. I love the construction and of course the bow is a fantastic detail (:
ReplyDeleteoh no, please dont put nail polish on your shoes. i'm sure it wont look smooth. why dont you try some black paint or a permanent marker pen? i'm sure that would work out better
