I've been using the Pond's Gold Radiance Serum for about a month now. Almost every night before going to bed. I don't apply anything else on top of it (except for eye cream). It feels watery and cool like a gel, a little sticky when it's wet but it dries to a matte finish. I massage it all over my face using upward motions.
Oh-em-gee! It's amazing! Every time I use this at night, my face glows & feels firmer and plumper the next morning. This morning the area between my brows looked so smooth! Seeing that totally woke me up. I frown a lot (when I'm thinking, watching tv, on the computer & maybe when I sleep too) so my forehead has some fine lines. It smoothes those lines + minimizes my pores + makes my face look radiant, which is why I don't really mind that I haven't noticed any effect it's made on my dark spots yet.
3 Dislikes:
- The pump. It's quite crap. I have to press it so hard to get product in there.
- I'm a little confused about the smell. Sometimes it smells perfume-like and sometimes I get a whiff of bamboo shoots from it. I don't mind it, coz I like bamboo shoots, but I still think it's weird in a face product. Maybe it's just my sense of smell that is weird, I'm not sure.
- Price (Rs.899). If it didn't make my face glow, I'd say 'all that glitters ain't gold'
I think this is one of the most effective anti-aging products I've ever used. I like it better than the Olay Total Effects Anti-ageing Serum (click for review)
I accidentally came across the Guerlain L'or Radiance Concentrate With Pure Gold, a makeup base, and thought it looks very similar to Pond's Gold Radiance Serum.
The way it's described in some reviews, it sounds like they both have the same type of texture and feel. Of course, that's just my thought and I might be wrong.
Do you want to try Pond's Gold Radiance Serum? And if you have any tips on how to stop oneself from frowning all the time, please do tell! :)
♥ Cynthia Z ^.^
i saw it other day but then 899 was high so i thought let me read some review and then get it :)
ReplyDeleteso me going to get it ..
go ahead it is nice
DeleteQuick question for you Cynthia, what is the appropriate age to start using anti ageing products?
ReplyDeleteI want....thanks for the review..
ReplyDeleteGreat review. Thanks for it :)
ReplyDeletethe price is a downer...but i like the fact that i did something to your skin..:)
ReplyDeleteOoh I want this! xx
ReplyDeleteserums seem to be the latest rage in skincare , i had samples of lancome's genefique and loved it :)) but its soooo expensive ... i have also tried the estee lauder advanced night repair serum (i am too ashamed to admit the ridiculous amount i spent on this one) but it was a gift for myself on my 30th b'day.. too bad it didnt do anything extraodinary to my skin
ReplyDeleteI need some anti-frowning tips too!
ReplyDeleteWow, great review. All antiageing gels or creams tend to be oily. Is it oily?
ReplyDelete<3
i want it, but the price makes me think twice
ReplyDeleteserums seem to be all the rage right now.. are they like a more concentrated form of anti ageing creams and lotions? i honestly don't know. this is the only serum that has caught my fancy. 899 seems steep but the other day MY MOM was telling me start using anti ageing stuff. :P
ReplyDeleteRima- Yes they have more concentrated ingredients hence act faster. Yr mom said that?! lol..but u look like u have great radiant skin
ReplyDelete♥xx♥
Jiya- nope it's not oily at all
ReplyDelete♥xx♥
Fidha- Anytime after the age of 21 in my opinion, especially if one has very dry skin. If ur under 25 whole sincare regimen does not have to be ant-aging, but a daily serum or a night cream will do
ReplyDelete♥xx♥
Rajni- Heard a lot about the EL one..I can imagine what the shameful price is :), so I'm glad to know it's not a must-try
ReplyDelete♥xx♥
Thanks for letting me know Cynthia. :)
ReplyDelete<3
omg what nail polish are u wearing?! its amazing
ReplyDeleteHey! Thks for the review.. I generally feel very lazy to use serums - but this sounds nice.. Thks for the review :D
ReplyDeleteHi Cynthia. love your reviews. I have started using Pond's serum. Have you tried gold radiance night repair? Wondering whether its a good idea to use it with the serum.
ReplyDeleteAnon- Nope I haven't yet, so I wouldn't know. For me personally the serum feels enough. But I guess u could use one at a time
ReplyDelete♥xx♥
hi nice review... some questions .. does it suit all skin types.. whts the ideal time to use it before bed or after shower in the morning.. can serum alone help add radiance to my skin or do it need to use all the products in the gold range.. havent used any pronds products before.. hope to hear from you i have been trying to get answers from so called experts on the ponds radiance website n the ponds gold radiance page on facebook but in vain....
ReplyDeleteNeha- I think it would suit all skin types. I've used it only at night, but I'm sure it'll be ok for daytime as well under a sunscreen. I haven't used the other products in the range, and I feel this is enough for me (for now). But if you can afford them, I say why not? :)
ReplyDelete♥xx♥
is this only for night usage? once a day lang?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous- U can use it day & night

Nice review! I've been using the day cream and I am not the least bit pleased with it. It makes my skin dry and it doesn't feel like I have applied any moisturiser. I don't know what it is with Ponds, they always have such steep prices before they reduce it way down, I haven't tried the serum, maybe will give it a try when its a bit cheaper :P
ReplyDeleteHi cynthia.... I love u'r reviews..it's a big help for an indecisive me!!!!.I just bought the Ponds youth serum...but am a bit confused...I stay in Sri lanka and this is available only through fancy shops that bring down beauty products from india(as personal luggage)and then sell it here.I dont want to end up using a fake product on my face.As I was doing my extensive research on the net :) I came accross a blogger who has mentioned that her bottle is plastic, she is from philippines and on her picture, the bottle doesn't have the arabic writing on it(I have noticed that yours have it too..just like mine) and mine is a glass bottle of 30 ml.It shows MRP as indian rupees 899.I paid lkr 3645(i.e 1483 Inr)Though the bottle doesnt look cheap or fake in anyway...but just wanted to double check!!:)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there is anyway I can check with the item code bar/number!!.....would really appreciate u'r response...thankx
Shyma- The bar code in mine is:6 281006 405448. hope that helps. Sounds like u have the real thing

ReplyDeleteHey hi Cynthia Z.I am syama from India. I am 24 now and I am getting fine lines lightly on my forehead and parts like cheeks. I have read your review regarding ponds gold radiance serum. Well do u think it really works on my face and remove the fine lines? And make me look younger a bit? Please help me i will be thankful to you. Because i don't want to experiment as i used to have acne. Now its not there much but yet i want to remove wrinkles from my face and want a flawless skin to where that attracts my boyfriend more. :) so please suggest me what products should i use that really clears all the problems i have mentioned above. And do tell me about ponds radiance too plzz. Thanks and don't mind me writing so big to u also bye.... Tc
ReplyDeleteHi am 23 from India. i have hyper pigmentation and have pimple marks on my chin and am thinking to buy ponds gold radiance night cream will it improves my complexion n is it works on dark spots??? n i think ponds gold radiance products are recommended for 30+ so can i use it r not? and i have many more questions in my mind so someone please make me clear abt thses products.
ReplyDeleteI just turned 29, Filipina and I have oily skin. I've been using the serum for 3 weeks now partnered with the gold radiance facial wash. I've been doing this at night and apply less product in the morning before work. I could totally relate to Cynthia's description about the matte finish! I have large pores on my nose and it always felt rather rough and bumpy due to blackheads - but a few mins after applying my nose definitely feels smoother and matte! I generally like the 'glow' I'm getting so far but looking forward to seeing more improvements. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeletehyy there,i am nalini 4rm the fiji islands..ihav just started using ponds gold radiance day cream...m not much satisfied with the product coz afte application in the morning the face turns to look more dark, oily n greasy...but once u wash it off than the skin starts glowing..so could u tell me that is this the way this product works???? i have spent a lots of money in finding the best product 4 my face...am 3o yrs of age n beauti therapists say that i hav a combination skin..before i was using olay 7 signs of ageing...n now i want to chang my product coz am having a lots of pores dark spots n hav started havin fine lines on my cheeks...i have also felt that my skin needs tighting too...soo please help me ....choose the good product which i can stick with 4 lifetym...thanxxx
