This makeup is inspired by Genelia D'souza's look in the Fast Track ad. You know, the one outside a club. I think she looks very glam in the ad, with the bangs and all. Too bad bangs don't suit me.
Apart from the smoky eyes, I can't really make out which shades of makeup she has on in the ad. So this is more my take on it.
~ Eye Makeup Tutorial ~
1. Apply eyeshadow primer (UDPP), take a nude eyeshadow and apply it all over your lid (especially for Indian skin tones, applying a neutral undertone color makes grey eyeshadow suit them better), & apply the same eyeshadow on your lower lash line. Next, with a pencil brush take a shimmery grey eyeshadow and apply it on top of the nude eyeshadow, blend any harsh lines with a blending brush (blending ~ using window wiper or small circular motions), & apply the same grey on your lower lash line. It should look like this...
2. Take a matte black eyeshadow, pat the brush on your hand first to prevent fallouts & to prevent harsh lines, apply it on the outer V and bring the color in halfway. Use remaining eyeshadow on the brush to apply on lower lash line. Blend away with a fluffy brush. Use the same black eyeshadow to line your upper lash line. I used false lashes & applied mascara. Take some kajal with an angled liner brush & apply it on your lower lash line. Blend & smoke that line out with a pencil brush. Fill in & shape your brows too. The finished look should look something like this....
For my face I used a darker foundation- Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation #85, and then I applied a little bit of Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder.
3. Apply a bronzer (MAC Golden) on your cheeks, temples, chin & nose. Next use a peachy blush (MAC Peaches) on the apples of your cheeks. Lips ~ I used Lakme Enrich Satin #531, a light brown shade, and then I blended it with my fingers. Then I applied Lakme Sheer Satin Gloss #61, a clear gloss.
And we're done!
Inspired by Genelia's look in this video...

I love Genelia..she is kind of young and fresh :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd loved your take on the look..simply superb. Sorry if I sound dumb..but what actually is the purpose of using a darker foundation shade? sort of bring in an earthy look?
one more doubt Cynth..Do you think MAC Paintpot in Groundwork would be a good one for the neutral undertone base colour you have mentioned here?
Who is Genelia? Its all about CZ! Hottie! I love your make-up, but the hair is looking too good! xo
