How I Conceal Pimples ~ Pictorial

IHaveABigAnnoyingPimpleThatIsProbablyGoingToScarArgh!!!
I hate pimples. I hate them. I never had them during my teens, but now it's every frickin' month! Adult acne, or just the side effects of being a beauty blogger who tries out almost everything? I believe it's the latter.
Possible Culprits:
  • My new toner ~ L'Oreal Re-nourish Velvety Toner
  • Wearing Garnier BB Cream & Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation together.
  • Another reason I will share with you in another post.

So I thought I'd at least get something to write about in my blog. I'll quickly show you how I conceal it. Not completely though, because it's a big one, but enough to make it look less like a red angry pimple.
Below are the products I used:

Step-by-step Pictorial on how I do it.
* Please Note: I clicked the pics in a hurry, so I didn't have time to make sure the lighting was the same.
Step 1: Cleanse your face with a mild face wash, like Cetaphil.
Step 2: Exfoliate gently. I find this helps remove any flakiness left by drying pimple creams. If you have multani mitti (fuller's earth), mix it with water & apply the paste on the spots for a few minutes, and wash off.
Step 3: Moisturize. This will prevent the following products from looking cakey.
Step 4: Optional: Apply a foundation primer. This will help your base adhere to your skin better. I impulsively used an eyeshadow primer here.
Step 5: Apply foundation & blend it properly. I use a synthetic flat top kabuki brush by Sigma. I suggest you stick to a liquid foundation. The reason why I'm mixing 2 foundations, is because MUFE HD is matte and I wanted some dewiness for my overall look (that day), so I decided to mix Rimmel WMU, which  is more creamy and also has shimmer with it.
Step 6: Dot a concealer on the spots, and leave it to set for 1 minute before blending it. When it's a pimple, I prefer to just stipple the concealer on until it's completely blended.
*Step 7: Apply a little bit of the foundation over the concealer if needed. I do that when my concealer is not the same shade as my foundation. I usually do that, but here I forgot & skipped the step.
Step 8: Set everything with loose powder. Loose powder gives a more natural finish than compact powder.
Done! It may still look BIG, but these are close-up pics. Nobody will stand this close to you... well, unless....

Hope you found that helpful. If you have any other tips, feel free to share them with us all.
Now let's all pray that my damned pimple won't scar!

  3. I always have trouble concealing my any pesky pimples that decide to pop up! I find that they are crusty (yuck, tmi) and when I put on concealer, instead of hiding it, it accentuates the presence of a pimple! You've hidden yours really well so I will take on your advice on exfoliating gently :)

  10. I am not much into make-up but I know one product which can really help you hide the acne and the spots. Pure Skin Hide & Treat is the amazing thing to use. It works well on any skin and is a great product.

I read all of them & I try my best to reply to each & every one of them [check back in 2-3 days =D] but most times it's physically impossible! Either way, I love to hear from you & really appreciate you taking the time out to share your thoughts <3
