Guess Campaign Inspired LOTD

I could stare at  Guess models/ads for hours. The cat eyes...the clothes....the high heels....and the black & white pics. I just love 'em! Guess Spring Campaign 2011 has models with smokey eyes, thick winged eyeliner & nude lips. I thought I'd do a similar look on myself and have some fun.
*Now I'm not saying I look like a Guess model. Duh! I just like to play dress up and pretend I am one =D

My back hurts because of all the crawling and setting the timer on the camera, then going back to stretching on the floor again. Some out of focus pics had nothing but limbs haha...

DIY Lipstick Sundae

Last night at around 11:00 pm, for no reason at all (okay, let's just say the reason was Sunday boredom), I got up from my beloved couch and made this mini 4-in-1 lipstick palette aka lipstick sundae.

I enjoyed making it so much, because it's so easy. I hope you'll like it too!

MAC Quite Cute Collection Haul & Swatches

MAC Quite Cute Collection was launched today. I woke up with a big smile on my face, mainly coz I haven't shopped for so long (since my vacay). I decided not to buy any makeup for at least 6 months, but this doesn't count coz it's limited edition stuff ;p. But you know I'm right there.

Anyhoo, here's what I hauled:
  • Mineralize Blushes in Giggly & Sakura: They are also called Kawaii Baked Heart Blushes. "Kawaii" means "pretty" or "cute" in Japanese. I'm so glad that these aren't too shimmery.
  • Lipstick in Candy Yum Yum: A matte neon pink shade.

Silkygirl Double Intense Gel Eyeliner ~ Cute, cute, cute!

About:
A creamy gel-type eyeliner that ensures easy and precise application, even for beginners. Thanks to its Silicone Polymer Technology, the gel eyeliner glides on effortlessly to deliver intense and vivid color payoff; mistake-free. It comes in a smart packaging where the eyeliner brush is neatly attached to the casing, so you don’t have to worry about losing the brush.

Shade ~ 01 Pure Black (Waterproof)

This is the cutest gel liner ever! It's so tiny & light! It fit's in my palm. That pot is even smaller than Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner. I adore it so much, I wish I could protect it from, God forbid, drying.

Even in Malaysia the products I wanted were all sold out, that's why I'm so excited! :)

Topshop Neon Rose Cream Blush ~ J'adore!

Topshop Cream Blush in Neon Rose is one of the prettiest blush shades I've seen. It looks completely coral, but it actually has a lot of pink in it, which is what I love about it. It's a really unique color. It's gives me exaggerated rosy cheeks, but when toned down, it looks like a crush-flush- the kind you get when you see your crush.

*Should I look? No! He'll see me looking at him! My cheeks are burning! Ohmigod, I can't feel my legs! I'm going to fall!*

No, you're not going to fall...but...okay, run away & hide, just in case =D

Because it's a neon color, I couldn't increase the brightness of photos without altering the color, so I didn't. Remember the Colorbar Autumn Rose Nail Polish? (post here) Well, this is almost like that.

My 'KISS' Makeup Brushes For Everyday

KISS- Keep It Simple Silly. That's the only thing I understand from Ranbir Kapoor's stand up comedy in those Docomo ads (Hindi is not my 1st language). He talks and talks & the audience laughsMy hubby turns to me and grimace. I roll my eyes as if I know exactly what he means. But truthfully, I don't. I don't understand anything except the 'KISS' in the end. Never mind though, at least I understood the part worth understanding, no?

Anyways, my point is, I have simplified my life a little bit just by picking out which brushes I'd need every time and I keep them all in a separate brush holder to save time. Believe me, it's an accomplishment of some sort for a scatterbrain.

So, here are 8 brushes I use everyday- for any look:

Face
  1. Foundation- Sigma F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki. This is the ultimate foundation brush. It blends foundation flawlessly in a jiffy. I can't live without it. Review here
  2. Powder- Coastal Scents Bionic Wide Buffer Brush. I love this to pieces. It's incredibly soft and because it's flat, it's ideal for patting powder to set your foundation & concealer without moving them.
  3. Blush ~ Inglot 24SS. It's dual-sided. The big brush is ideal for blush application & the smaller flat top brush is great for brushing off eyeshadow fallouts, stippling concealer & contouring cheeks too. Review here
What about bronzer, you ask? If I'm wearing bronzer, which I don't everyday, then I'd use a large kabuki brush. But if these were my only options, then brush No.1. or No.3.

Concealer? Fingers, toothpick (yes, really :)) & Sigma E40 (mentioned below)

Baviphat California Scandal Muti-Action Color Balm: Peach & Orange

Baviphat California Scandal Multi-Action Color Balm can be used on eyes, cheeks & lips. I love the tin packaging with the suggestive glam retro girls on the cover- very 'The Balm'

Peach, Orange
 I have 2 shades:
  • Peach ~ This looks more pink than peach to me. It has bits of silver shimmer, which don't show much. I don't like how this looks on my lips- it's too pale.
  • Orange ~ Peach shade with gold shimmer. There's more shimmer here than in the Peach shade. This looks good on the lips too, it makes a great peachy-nude lippie.
They both look very pretty on the cheeks. They are non-sticky & dry to a powdery finish. On lips, they feel like velvet lip creams. I haven't worn them on my eyes yet, mainly because it's so hot & humid over here.

Shoe Haul ~ 8 Pairs At A Reasonable Price

I said I'll show you the shoes I hauled in Malaysia, so here they are:

Vincci, RM 79.00 (Rs.1185.00) ~ These were picked for me by a salesgirl just coz they're Size 3, which they don't have much of. I tried them on and they looked quite sexy (I don't like using that word to describe things, but that's what I thought at the time.)

TSC, RM 99.90 (Rs.1499.00) ~ The hottest black shoes I own, but uncomfortable as hell! My heels keep slipping out. I wore these in this LOTD here
