YSL Touche Eclat Review

Since many of you have asked me how I find this, I thought I'd do a proper review. I'll make it short and to the point.

YSL Touche Eclat #2 'Luminous Ivory'around the right eye (Applied a bit of powder only on my nose and forehead.) Eye cream around left eye.

You can use this around the eye area, sides of your nose, contour of your lips (makes the lips *pop*) and hollow of the chin.

Pros:
  • What I like most about this are the 'modest' minute light reflecting particles which give that radiant glow. They play peek-a-boo with your eyes- sometimes you see them, sometimes you don't.
  • The texture is non-greasy- almost powdery actually, so it's not necessary to set it with powder as it will not crease.
  • Blends into your skin effortlessly. It's not like one of those concealers you have to keep patting to settle them down.
  • Can be applied over powder, so it's good for touch-ups.
Cons:
  • Expensive (I think everyone agrees with me on this one) Priced at Rs.2100 in India *big sigh*
  • Minimal coverage- does not cover freckles and dark spots.
  • I've read complaints about the smelly brush and how too much of the stuff oozes out. Well, the instructions that come in the box clearly says that the brush should be cleaned once a week with a tissue and dab of alcohol (surgical spirit) and ensure the brush is fully dried before replacing the cap. As for the 'oozing'- too many clicks!
Verdict: What can I say, I LOVEit. Truly one-of-a-kind. I have yet to use many other concealers, but this could be the best concealer/highlighter I've ever used.

Some Stuff to Cross Off my Wishlist

Bought some stuff from my wishlist today, and I think I'm done buying make-up this year. I believe me, do you?

YSL Touche Eclat #2
Yet to find out if this icon is worth all the fuss

MAC DSquared2 Sculp and Shape Powder in Bone Beige
I did say I'd skip this collection, but I needed a contouring powder and this duo is perfect for my skin tone.

MAC Dazzleglass Creme ~ Creme Allure
I like these more than the original Dazzleglasses because they are not sticky.

Beauties Factory 120 Eyeshadow Palette

Ordered this last Monday and I'm sooo... *HAPPY* it arrived today!!! Only one color is broken, but I guess it's a small price to pay for ordering make-up online.
Here are some pictures to show you how it's packed....

5 layers of bubble wrap

Both were saran-wrapped

There's the broken one :(

I got 5 brushes free with the palette. I think they're adorable and quite well-made.

The Ebay store I ordered it from is called Chic Gallery for 12.99 pounds (Rs.1000 approx). Ordered some Nail Art Rhinestones too but they haven't arrived yet.
Hope this helps those who are thinking about ordering this palette online too.

Mircoz Lash Lengthening Formula Review

What it says: The Pro-vitamin B enriched formula cares for your lashes, enhancing their natural appearance. It acts as a conditioner that bonds to your lashes, feeding them the nutrients they need to grow long and lustrous.

I used it with Maybelline Volum' Express Hypercurl Mascara (Waterproof)
Left eye- Just two coats of the mascara (Omg! Look how tiny! lol..)

Usage Directions:

  1. First apply mascara on lashes
  2. Apply Mircoz White Fibre at the tip of lashes
  3. Finish by applying mascara. Repeat the steps for more dramatic result.
Pros:

  • Gives longer thicker lashes
  • Great alternative to falsies
  • You can make your lashes as 'long' as you want
Cons:

  • Time consuming
  • Messy. Fibres get into the eyes and fly all over the face
  • Gets a bit clumpy
  • My eyes get irritated and itch with it, but they are extremely sensitive to begin with.
Buy again? Nope. Not worth another Rs.1100. I'd rather use falsies or pile on the mascara, and I don't think it'll run out anytime soon anyways.

♥ Mac Baroque Boudoir Collection ♥

I'm so smitten by this collection. The packaging screams 'erotic' and has that vintage mysterious look a la Marie Antoinette.
This collection will be launched in the US this month. Who knows when it will come to India, when even the old news 'Style Black' hasn't been launched yet *Uff*

Baroque Boudoir Lipstick

Baroque Boudoir Lipgloss (So Beautiful!)

Compact/Sheer Mystery Powder

Boudoir Clutch

I'm lusting over the Lipglosses, Lipsticks and the Mystery Powders *.*

Seeing this makes me want to watch 'Dangerous Liaisons' (I don't know why I've never watched that movie!!)

Somebody to ♥ Leighton Meester's Music Video & Make-up?

I just have to post this, because I love this video so much! Blair Waldorf's...I mean, Leighton Meester's make-up in this video is HOT! Who said smokey eyes don't go with red lips? I'm so gonna dupe this look this winter. The song is probably the best upbeat song I've heard this year too.

I'm so hooked on Gossip Girl just because of Blair Waldorf's impeccable sense of style and yeah, there's a certain fascination with her 'spoiled-catty-insecure-vulnerable' complexities too.
It truly 'is' my one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite =)
Fashion magazines have taken a backseat since I started watching the series.

♥ Je t'adore...Je t'adore ♥

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Reviews ~ Etude House Nail Pen, Sally Hansen Manicure Clean-Up Pen & Bourjois 1 Seconde Nail Polish

Etude House Nail Art Pen (Pink)
I was so excited when I bought this coz I thought I was going to create magic with it, little did I realize that it was going to cause my hand to look like a claw after constantly pressing it and it hurt too! It's very hard to control. Okay if you just want dots on your nails, but not for neat intricate designs.

Sally Hansen Manicure Clean-Up Pen (tip is dark coz of the dark nail polish btw)
This, on the other hand,  is a nice little tool to have. It cleans off smudges easily and more precise than with a Q-tip.

Bourjois 1 Seconde in #9 Prune Stellaire
In this pic I used the Etude House nail pen on top of Bourjois nail polish. Fyi, I did do all my nails on my left hand but they're all in different designs and look so weird! I didn't wanna show  =)
Bourjois 1 seconde nail polishes are my favorites, because they come in such beautiful colors and the fan brush makes application effortless. And yeah, they do dry fast too, so that's a plus for the impatient ones, like me.

Skinfood Haul

When I saw Skin Food doing the rounds on the net, I didn't see what the big deal was, but now I know why it's being 'ooh-ed' so much. Everything just looks so fresh and delicious, I could buy everything! If only they were cheaper and not to mention available in my country!*sigh*

These are the yummy products I'm using these days. Believe me, they are good enough to eat, literally.

Honey Pot Lip Balm
This is like strawberry jam..mmm

Coffee Milk Nail Balm
Smells like the name and just what my brittle nails and cuticles need

Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek- Apricot
Looks fab on the cheeks and nice pale lip color that complements smokey eyes. And  it does smell like apricot.

Mushroom BB Cream- #2

This smells like guava, imo. Has SPF 20 PA+, anti-ageing and brightening properties, blends well with my skin tone...what's not to love?

Yeah, that's me alright..I had to crop my legs coz  they're so far apart, I look like a duck... lol  =D

This 'Addict' is addicted to Skin Food :)
What about you?

Perfumes I'm Loving Right Now

Okay, this is my very first post on perfumes, which I love as much as make-up. I've been obsessively  passionately collecting perfumes for the last 5 years. These two have been on my wishlist for more than a year and they are so worth the wait. Truly in with them *.*

Vera Wang Flower Princess

Marc Jacobs Daisy

Now I can't be poetic in describing perfumes, like their top notes, base notes and the bludilableble....

All I can say, in the simplest words, is that both the fragrances are fun, girly, and they lift up my mood just by looking at them. The bottles are just so pretty , which is the reason they made it to my wishlist in the first place.

If these perfumes were women, they would be neither 'loud' nor timid, and never dull.

Mac Products- The Good, The Bad & The "Ugh!"

This is was requested by Palak, whose head spins every time she's in a Mac store :)
But I hope others will find it kinda helpful too.
However, this is just my personal opinion girls, so don't fume if I diss any of your favorite Mac products ;)

Few stuff I'm using (and not using) at the moment

~ The Good ~
**Shade names are not recommendations btw. Pick shades that suit you.
And please note that I haven't used all of Mac's products, so I've just listed the ones I've actually used.

Face:
  • Studio Touch Up stick Concealer
  • Mineralized Skinfinish Natural
  • Blushcreme - Ladyblush
  • Prep n Prime transparent loose powder
  • Select Cover concealer- Peach and green (mine are so old now.) I like the non-cakey coverage.
  • Mineralized blushes
Lips:
  • Tinted lip conditioners - Petting Pink, Fuchsia Fix, Hello Kitty Popster, Clear
  • Plushglass - Full for you, Plus luxe
  • Cremestick lip liner- Creme O'spice
  • Lip liners- I like how long they are
  • Tinted lipglass
  • Marbelized Lipglass- Funky Fusion
  • Lipstick- See Sheer, Hug Me, Sweetie, Lickable, Lustering, Impassioned
  • Slimshine lipstick-Gaily (but finishes very fast coz its very creamy and melty)
  • Lipgelee- Used up Slicked Pink and Dewy Jube
  • Tendertones - Sweet tooth, Honey Bare (temporaries which I think should be permanents)
  • Dazzleglass- Baby Sparks (a bit sticky but brings out a nice pout.)
Eyes
  • Fluidline- Blitz n Glitz
  • Powerpoint eye pencil- Duck (didn't get to use most of it coz it broke mid-way)
  • Eye Pencil- Coffee
  • Shadestick- Beige-ing looks great on the waterline on those days when white liner just doesn't cut it.
  • Technakohl liner
  • Eyeshadows
Brows:
  • Brow set - Clear
  • Eye brows- lingering
  • Brow Finisher (broke from the base but i still manage to use it. Lasts a long time.)
Multi-use
  • Cream color base- Too Darling (bought this from Hong Kong, but I don't see it on their website. It's similar to Shell, I think.)
Skin Care
  • Lightful Essence
  • Cleanse Off Oil
Brushes: If you don't mind paying around Rs.1000 for a make-up brush, then Mac has the best. I have never bought any brushes from Mac, because I think they're too pricey. But I might buy a stippling brush one day.

~ The Bad and the "Ugh!" ~
Now here are the Mac products I don't like at all:

I scooped out the lipsticks into the BS body butter container and returned tubes for 'Back to Mac' ;p

      • Liquidlast Liner- So tacky that it sticks to my lashes making mascara application clumpy, and doesn't apply smoothly (Hate it!)
      • Studio Sculp Concealer- Way to cakey. Reveals more than conceals, in my opinion.
      • Clear lipglass- Sticky sticky sticky on lips. I even tried using it on my lids and I couldn't blink!
      • Pro longwear lip clour- Drying and cracks...and then flakes.
      • Zoom Lash Mascara - Blah!
      • Lipstick- Myth, Bronze Shimmer (just not my shades)
      • Pigments- I have Naked, Fairylite, Black tied and Steel Blue (which I like but hardly use) Previous 3 can't be used on either lip or eye area, so what's the point!!!

      Phew! Okay, that's all I guess. I hope I didn't forget anything.
