I Must Have This New Innovative Avon Mascara.....

I'm always on the lookout for the next mascara that's going to give me the eyelashes of my dreams. So when I saw something this gadgety, I had to do my research. I liked what I saw, so I'm sharing it with you, in case you didn't already know a mascara like this exists.
Claims: This breakthrough mascara provides 24-hour volume, leaving lashes darker, denser and more dramatic. Get ready for a corner to corner lash transformation with our first ever Wonderbrush.
The Wonderbrush bends and adjusts to multiple angles capturing every lash, top to bottom. The unique brush fits the natural shape of lashes, coating them evenly with formula from root to tip. The extra surface area of the Wonderbrush bristles are designed to deliver 40% more mascara to the lash. Mega Effects Mascara provides a clump-proof, sweat-proof, non-flaking and non-smudging experience. Ophthalmologist-tested. .317 oz. net wt.

I put it on my wishlist after I saw this demo video on Youtube.

Price ~ £10 | Rs.1004. But you'll get it for £6 | $10 from Ebay. I don't know any Avon representative here, so I'll probably go with Ebay.

Have you tried it? I wonder how much it costs in India?

6 Disappointing Beauty Products

After hopeful & satisfying stories, I bring to you disappointing stories. Since I don't do reviews anymore, I thought I'd just put up good & bad products kind of posts. This one is about 6 products that I wasn't happy with.
***These are products that I personally did not like, and did not work for me. So, if you love them & they work great on you, don't worry & hate me. Every beauty product works differently on everybody =)
1. Garnier BB Cream (India Version) ~ I have proof (pics) that this flakes, and comes out like dead skin when layered and blended. Plus, the texture is too much like a tinted moisturizer. I use the original UK version, and I like it a lot even though it's a tad too oily. But it is soothing and I use it as a primer under foundation & powder, so it works. Garnier BB Creams are confusing, because of the different types, and the one launched in India might be a totally different concoction. I might try the Oil Free version, and see if it's similar to it.

2. MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Style Surge ~ I got this together with MAC Riri Woo, and I quite liked the finish when I tested it on my hand at the store + I found the shape of it very interesting. On my lips, it's not so interesting. The texture is buttery and slippery, so it just sits on top of my lips like it's waiting for me to wipe it off. If not for the heavy price tag (Rs.1680), I would have spared it from this list. I'll stick to the regular MAC lippies from now on.
3. Garnier Moisture Match Mattifying Fresh Cream With Green Tea Extract ~ This is super disappointing. When I apply it, I can feel the beads of silicone that take a while to disappear, like when you rub the dead skin off your lips, and somewhat like when there's lint on your moisturized skin, you know what I mean? I also find it a tad greasy. Such a shame, because I thought it was going to be different-  fresh green tea different, not silicone-packed different. I'll use it on my  legs  feet before bed.
4. Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara (Waterproof) ~ I remember liking this a lot before I started this blog, and it was one of my favorite, and best, mascaras, BUT after trying a few holy grail-good ones recently, it's deficiencies are more noticeable. The huge plastic brush just doesn't work for my thin lashes. I guess this is closure for us. It might not be so bad if you already have full plush lashes, though.
5. Carmex Lip Balm ~ The one in a jar. I realized one day that it's actually drying my lips even more! The ones in squeeze tubes are great, though.

6. L'Oreal Color Riche Le Nail Art Stickers ~ Sigh. When I wore these, I felt like I had claws. I actually scratched myself a few times. The tips bubble and don't really stick to the nail. Maybe there's a better way to stick 'em, but it's like too much work! I'll stick to nail polishes and save time (30-45 mins the first time!) and money. I have not worn the ones shown here, but I wore another set (black with gold bits)  here.

****

That's all for today. You all enjoy your Friday night! Me, no special plans, except watch Game Of Thrones & movies. I hope I find at least one good horror movie to watch. It's hard, because I've watched all of them, and the ones I really really want to watch have not been released yet! =D

Any disappointing beauty products you encountered recently? Warn me, okay?

I Like Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curved Brush Mascara

Do you watch The Carrie Diaries? Well, little Carrie Bradshaw always has these nice long & separated mascara-ed top & bottom lashes. Whenever I wear Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curved Brush Mascara, I'm reminded of her lashes. Not that mine are as long as hers, but the definition & separation look almost the same. I think if she wore this mascara, they'd look as awesome as they do now.
I like this mascara a lot. It's gives volume & curl with minimal clumps (clumping depend on application & timing between coats). The curved brush seem to stretch my lashes making them appear longer, and it is easy to maneuver but make sure to wipe the tip if you don't want a black dot on your nose bridge when doing bottom lashes. It claims to be smudge-proof, and I have not experienced any smudging. Cleaning it with cleansing oil does take as long as a waterproof mascara.
2 coats on top lashes, 1 coat on bottom lashes. Any clumpiness you see is only because I was impatient while applying  + my camera makes even the most invisible eyeshadow fallout look giant  =)

NEW! Bourjois Fan-Tastic Volume Mascara ~ WOW!

They've done pink, now they're doing lavender. They've done curvy, now it's time for angular. That's Bourjois' mascara packaging for you. Doesn't that brush look like a hair brush? We're hoping it really will give us FAN-TASTIC lashes.

For now, we just know the mascara formula has silk extracts & the unique brush design will help fan out lashes.
That's enough info, coz we're already sold!!!

Most Used Beauty Products ~ January '13

I almost didn't publish this even after I've written everything. I don't know, I'm a very unstable person. I clicked this pic last week, and put my used products...then I realized I'd forgotten to put my shampoo & conditioner, a nail polish....a couple more things. Oh, well.

Anyways, these are my most-used products this month....

  • L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil ~  I got sucked into buying this after I saw the ad on tv while watching HIMYM one night (watch it here). It was so enticing, I watched it with my mouth open, and couldn't stop thinking about it until I purchased it (...at the cheapest price, too.) TRUTH: After using it, I found out "Extraordinary" is stretching it a bit. It is  a flowery-smelling hair serum-cum-heat-protector, that has helped the tips of my hair look less brittle, but I don't find it detangling enough. I use it before washing my hair,  before & after blow-drying. I'd still use it, but I sure wouldn't buy it again.

  • Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream ~ Been wearing this almost everyday for over a month now. Not only for review purposes, but because I don't hate it. Review is coming shortly.

  • Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Candy Apple ~ To be honest, I've been wearing this as a lip balm too just because it's always in the kitchen. Review & Swatches here

  • Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curved Brush Mascara ~ LOVE this. It lengthens, it volumizes, it curls. It is definitely better than the False Lash Effect Mascara.

  • Benefit Benetint Lip & Cheek Stain ~ Product Of The Week! Before, I used to wonder what the big deal is with this lip & cheek tint. Now I get it! It's a rose-tinted stain that makes me look blooming (you know, like youthful sweet 16 type...almost). It makes lips look really kissable. Really, I'd want to kiss my own lips hehe.  You know how some lip tints gather up unevenly where your lips meet? That never happens with Benetint. This is a generous sample size that I got free with Marie Claire mag, but I will definitely buy a full size when it's finished.

  • Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette ~ I've been using this palette almost everyday  this month. Probably the same neutral look as well. Review & Swatches here

  • The Body Shop Lily Cole Compact Mirror ~ Because I don't have a big mirror for makeup application, I need one I can hold close to me when applying mascara. This is awesome because it's got a magnifying mirror on one side. Btw, The Body Shop UK is putting this & other good stuff on SALE, so do check it out. I've made good use of it myself. My haul here

What are your most-used beauty products this month?

Bourjois New Launches ~ Colorissimo Lip Palettes, Effet 3D Max 8H Long Lasting Gloss, Beauty Full Volume Mascara, Etc

Remember the Bourjois Colorissimo Lip Palettes I talked about in January? Oh my G, January?!  Well, they are finally here in India..... and they brought some friends!
  • Bourjois Colorissimo Lip Palettes ~ These have the same packaging as the Effect Smoky Eyes Trio Eyeshadows, and is accompanied with the same applicator too. I feel Bourjois could have made the colors better, coz 2 or 3 palettes look very similar to each other.

My Review In Cosmopolitan Magazine August Issue

Hi, Hello!
I know I disappeared for a week, and I'm very much alright. Thanks to all those who were concerned about me considering the incidents in Assam. I just got back in the city on Saturday night. I have missed blogging so much, but yesterday I decided to just relax for the last time, and watch 'The Vow' (Bland & predictable, but saved by Channing Tatum)
Boy, am I late in telling you about this! I was asked to review a mascara - Shiseido Perfect Defining Volume Mascara - for Cosmopolitan magazine, and it was published in the August issue.
Many thanks to Priyam Chaturvedi for giving me the opportunity to try & review my very first Shiseido product ever, and to appear in the magazine for the second time (previous here). Oh, and also for being so patient with all my cropped photos ;) (I'd sent her many many photos that couldn't be used, before finding this one- in which my whole head is showing.)

There are 3 products there. I picked the mascara, as you know I'm always on the lookout for the next miracle tool for my sorry lashes.

365Gorgeous Online Beauty Store Review & Haul (Psst...Giveaway Alert)

I got to experience another online beauty store called  365Gorgeous. 'Coz you gotta be  gorgeous every single day of the year, yo!' It houses brands that aren't available in India like: Bobbi Brown, Essie, China Glaze, etc. Other popular brands include: Maybelline, L'Oreal, Colorbar, Lakmé, Revlon, Lotus Herbals, MAC, Lancome, and lots more.

The Good:
  • 5% OFF on most products like Maybelline
  • Earn Points when you shop
  • Cash On Delivery
  • Free Shipping above Rs.250
  • Delivery within 2-5 days
  • Products were packed in a little white box & they were bubble-wrapped properly.

The Bad:
  • What really bothered me was, the different shades of a product weren't put together in one page. Like, each lipstick shade has it's own individual page, which is very frustrating. I like to see them all in one page- saves time that way, don't you think?
  • 'View All' option is not there. You have to keep flipping pages. I'm a view all kind of person (read: impatient)
  • Many products I wanted were 'Out Of Stock'

What I put in my cart:
  • Joy Pure Aloe Oil Control Face Wash, Rs.38.00
  • NYX Trio Eye Shadow in Pink Purple Prune, Rs.520.00
  • Maybelline Crayon Liner Pencil, Rs.118.75
  • Maybelline Hyper Curl Volum' Express Mascara Waterproof Black, Rs.166.25
  • Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Soft Plum, Rs.194.75  (One of my favorites & most-used blushes!)

Ooh....A PINK Mascara!

How often do we see a mascara in a cute pink curvy tube that reminds us of a burlesque dancer?

Bourjois has managed to tempt me again with it's new Volume Glamour Max Definition Mascara.

That brush has 500 bristles or pins that will give voluminous & defined lashes.

WE SO WANT x 500.

Why My Lashes Grew Longer

My eyelashes grew a tad longer! That much. Okay, I know it may not look like a big deal to some, but for me it's something. I want to say a tad thicker too, but I don't want you to loff.

I started noticing it last month. I'd apply a mascara and think, "It never made them this long before, how come?"

It was kind of easy for me to narrow down the products that may have caused it coz I was stuck in a rut when it came to everyday makeup, I'd use the same stuff every single day.

Products For DIY Bridal Makeup

Hey everyone,

I know my Bridal Series is hanging in limbo. It's going to come to an abrupt end since I've got so many things to do before Christmas + I'm leaving for vacay right after that. But I want to do a couple more posts to end the series properly. Fingers crossed!

Below are the makeup products I'd use on my wedding day- if I were doing my own makeup. I'd be wearing a pink lehnga with gold embellishments, so I picked the colors accordingly:

Face:
  • Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Oil Free
  • Make Up For Ever HD Foundation
  • YSL Touche Eclat to brighten up the undereye areas
  • MAC Studio Finish Concealer to conceal blemishes
  • MAC Chromagraphic Pencil for spot concealing
  • The Body Shop Loose Powder
  • MAC Sculp & Shape Powder to contour & highlight
  • Benefit Bella Bamba
  • Benefit Hoola
  • MAC Fleur Power Blush
  • MAC Fix+ Finishing Spray to set makeup. For me, this works best at this time of year when my skin is drier.
Other long-wear foundations:
Revlon Colorstay Foundation, MAC Pro Longwear Foundation, MAC Studio Sculp Foundation.

Other Blush suggestions: Colorbar Peachy Rose & Just Earth, MAC Dollymix, MAC Peaches, Nars Orgasm, Benefit Coralista, Bourjois Lilas D'or, Lakme Earth Rose Trio Blush, Lakme Cheek Artist Kiss Of A Rose (Visit the Blush Bar for swatches)
